I called for the technician to check on a AC issue with a smart thermostat. Technician showed up and installed a new thermostat without calling to let me know what the issue was, charged me for the service call and the new thermostat when I had a perfectly brand new thermostat sitting there all along. They came out to replace the thermostat and charged me a second service fee. I emailed a few times to contest but never heard a response. Finally called them and they were rude on the phone, saying that they are losing money on me because I'm too far away... I could not possibly be happier with Brewer Heating & Air Conditioning. A year ago, we wanted to replace our single-speed, noisy, inefficient HVAC system with something better. We landed on Carrier equipment, and were directed to Brewer, as the only local dealer. Not only did Robbie Brewer personally come out, examine our existing system, and recommend a new top-of-the-line system from Carrier, but he had it installed within a few weeks. (In the middle of the pandemic, with supply chain issues, with labor issues, with illness issues...) We LOVE the new system. It is everything we had hoped for. Efficient, quiet, low power (so it can start and run on our backup battery during power outages!) and mostly invisible. On top of that, a year later, during the hottest days on record, when it started misbehaving (a slow coolant leak, we think) Brewer had someone out within minutes (really, like 5 minutes) after I called about it. And then, when it failed again the same day (it's nearly impossible to get the amount of coolant right on a day that hot), they had someone out again within minutes. They treat me and my system with respect, and honestly, I couldn't possibly recommend them higher. If you need a new system (or repair to your old one), give Brewer a call! read more

I don't know where Vicki C.'s review is coming from. I bought a home in GV about 5 yrs ago and have been a customer of Brewer Refrigeration from day one for all my HVAC needs and servicing. And, boy have I needed them! On more than one occasion I have called them for an emergency service and they have ALWAYS fit me into their schedule within 24 hrs. of my call. Once time they actually sent out someone on the same day I called just to re-light the pilot light in my water heater because it was during winter and a working heater is a must-have. The entire office staff, including Sheree, are forever friendly, helpful and accommodating. My usual service technician, Robert, is nothing but professional, polite, smart and knowledgeable. On one visit to fix an HVAC issue, he also offered to look into AND THEN FIX a small leak I had just discovered in my spa system, something totally unrelated to HVAC! Bottom line: There really are some people that will never be happy no matter what and it appears Vicki C. is one of them. As far as I am concerned, Brewers Refrigeration is a stand-up, reliable, trustworthy and reasonably priced company that strives for complete customer satisfaction in every way. Jeff from Brewer Heating and Air came by today to fix my AC. The air conditioner was not blowing out cold air and the fan that is outside was not turning on. Jeff called me when he was about 20 minutes away from my house. He arrived and was totally professional and got the job done quickly. He even went out of his way to explain exactly what was wrong with the unit. He cleaned up after himself, which is really nice because I have had some service technicians leave their garbage all over the place. It was great to have an honest and detail oriented technician. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff at Brewer. We had a very large replacement of our entire HVAC system, including all new ductwork. Robert worked with us to find the prefect replacement system. He listened to our needs and made sure we were happy. Everyone in the company takes pride in the work they do and they made sure everything was working and we were happy with the final result. They always showed up when they said they would be working. Called to find out if we could get support to install a Nest thermostat. Technician came out only to say he couldn't install. Almost two months later we get a bill for $52. At no time did they say it would cost especially if they couldn't install or if they had a min service charge. When I asked office to explain they were rude and I couldn't even get a word in to discuss. Technicians may be good but don't bother as main office not worth dealing with! read more

My central heat had a problem and would not work. I needed someone ASAP. They were the fourth company I called and the only company that could promise me they could come out that day. They came out and the technician was friendly and knowledgeable. I was impressed that he had the part needed on his truck and quickly fixed the problem. Could not be happier with their service. We had an intermittent heat outage and of course that was when the first wave of morning temps in the twenties hit. They were able to fit us in, and called later before the tech arrived to confirm our problem was persisting. Of course when Robert arrived it decided to work again. Robert however was insightful and and excellent diagnostician. After inspecting our furnace said that on other jobs he had seen intermittent problems being caused by a failed pressure switch in Carrier gas furnaces. He said it wasn't conclusive as at the moment it was working, and gave me the choice of replacing it then, or waiting for the next malfunction and telling me how to open a panel on the furnace and record the diagnostic error indicators then that would pin it down decisively. Having run a business wherein we had to deal with the difficulty of servicing intermittent problems I fully realize you can't offer better options. I opted to have him replace the Carrier pressure switch and conveniently it was a part he had with him. Furnace fired right up on command of our Nest thermostat. Robert advised though that we wouldn't be sure of a complete fix until a few days testing without any errors. In the week after, we have been most pleased to note all performing perfectly. Thank you Brewers! Thank you Robert! Further, he took quick looks at two other heating units and made some minor adjustments to both, all within the flat rate diagnostic consult. Hopefully we won't need service for a long time again, but if we do, I would certainly call Brewers again. read more

The repair charges were outrageous. I paid the charges and left a message for the owner to resolve this issue. He did not return the call. The woman on the phone was rude and argumentative. Been meaning to update this since last year. During the frost last year the AC/Heater they worked on had a super loud vibrating noise. Got up on the frosted roof to find there was 5 screws laying on the roof by the AC/Heater. I found where 3 of them went which stopped the loud irritating vibration noise. Could not find where the other 2 went without taking the AC/Heater apart. Hoping those other 2 screws missing where they should be will not damage anything else. read more
