For starters, we had the crispy yam fries and the Creole crab & spinach dip. Both were very good! I wasn't a huge fan of the chips that came with the crab dip, but honestly, that's such a small thing compared to how good the dip itself was. For mains, we had the chicken fingers and the peppercorn ribeye. The chicken fingers were SO good -- perfectly cooked with amazing breading. I wasn't a fan of the honey mustard, and unfortunately they didn't offer another dipping sauce, but the chicken itself was fantastic. And the ribeye... SOOOO GOOD. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the mashed potatoes that came with it were amazing. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The décor was great -- very modern and very 109th Street. It has that slick, upscale bar vibe that fits the area really well. The only awkward part was the hostess stand, which kind of puts you in the middle of a very active walkway while you're waiting. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, though! Huge shoutout to our server Abby, who was fantastic and made the experience even better. Overall, really enjoyed our dinner at Cactus Club. A couple tiny misses, but the food, atmosphere, and service definitely made up for them. I'd absolutely come back!

Small place though and I imagine on weekends it would be really loud. Our server happened to be the owner as well. He was prompt and friendly. He treated us well. Tonnes of amazing cocktails on the menu. I think I will try a different cocktail every time I go. There is one for everyone. Menu is short but has something for everyone there too. I decided on the Warm Mushroom Salad which contained a Mushroom Medley, with a Shallot, Rose Water, & Elderflower Liqueur Vinaigrette and the Spicy Rigatoni with Habanero Rose Sauce. My husband went with Braised Chuck Flatserved on fresh grits, glazed in demi. Cocktails were carefully crafted and the food came out in a timely manner. Food was excellent. The mushroom salad was full of flavour and cooked properly. The spicy rigatoini was excellent with just enough heat from the habanero sauce. However, the real start was the braised chuck which melted with a tap of the fork. The grits were well cooked and a good accompaniment. We were stuffed but I would like to try thier desserts in the future. Cocktail prices were high but in the same price range as other fancy cocktail bars. The food prices were the same as many other places but with higher quality. Definately try this place out. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I liked it, It made it more intimanite. Menu varies depending on the season. But I am sure that everyone will find something they would like. We chose a few things raw elk with fried capers, shallots & blueberries, the seared scallops with celeriac puree, capers, garlic and butter, saskatoon berry brisket with beef and carmelized onion on bannock, and the pappardelle rabbit ragu with parmigian reggiano . We also took two cockails which was delicous. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious. The stand out was the raw elk. Delicous combination of thing that do a party in you mouth. I would go back just for that . The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the brisket. Way too sweet for me. Be warned it is pricey. Expect to empty your pocket book.

The menu is somewhat seasonal and they were happy to answer all our questions and to provide suggestions where needed. We mostly had some appetizers and we'd like to come back to try more dishes. The seasonal salad had apples and walnuts and was super hearty and delicious. The scallops and the sauce were so tender and creamy, the bison tartare was really nice too. It was similar to a steak tartare with its own twist. If you enjoy steak tartare you will love this. We will definitely be back! Great new local restaurant to support!

Waiter was very kind and asked us if it was our first time and encouraged group sharing of the dishes and recommended 2-3 dishes per person. Waters were provided as well as a wine bottle-type jug with water in it - too bad the wine bottle is quite dark and the waiter cannot tell when it is empty and needs a refill. We tried: Ricotta Fritters: 7/10, tomato sauce was very overpowering in flavor, corn was very nice. Fritters themselves were very tasty and the ricotta filling was very nice but it gets hidden when eaten with the potent tomato sauce. Broccolini: 9/10, good, good flavor, cooked well just not sure they are worth the price for what you get. Risotto: 6/10, my uncle gave it a 8/10 as he liked it. To me it was pretty bland, could be that the carrot flavor isn't my thing, but just found it underwhelming and lacking flavor (maybe needs more salt too) Texture was very good though. Colcannon Gnocchi: 12/10. This dish was soooo good. Loved the mushroom cream sauce, sour cream, GIANT bacon jam blobs, gnocchi itself had good texture. But combined the flavors were phenomenal. 100% recommend this dish. Unfortunately Amberjack was not available. Herb Marinated Chicken Thighs: Chicken was 9/10 good, good flavor and texture but Brussel sprouts were bad like no one would eat them bad. Undercooked and under seasoned. Little rocks that had a bad taste. Sauce was good to add moisture but was very very bland/tasteless. Overall this fed 3 of us well with no leftovers but also no room for dessert.
