The young woman with short hair working on Friday, August 7 was dismissive, uninterested, and came across as extremely condescending when I simply tried to ask questions about their resale process. What bothered me most was the feeling that I was being judged based on how I was dressed or how I looked when I walked through the door. Never judge a book by its cover. In a luxury resale business, every person who walks in should be treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of whether they arrive dressed head to toe in designer labels. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I was a potential customer with legitimate high-end merchandise who wanted information about doing business with this store. Instead, I left feeling as though my questions were an inconvenience. Customer service matters, especially in a business built around people trusting you with expensive personal belongings. Based on the way I was treated, I would not feel comfortable consigning or selling my designer collection here, and unfortunately I cannot recommend this business. Did I have to dress up, park my Audi E Tron in front of the store and put on all of my diamonds to get the service or even be acknowledged walking through the door?

As I was getting ready to leave, though, I happened to notice a vending machine tucked away in the corner for Strange Collective AZ. I had seen something similar on reels when we were in San Francisco, but I could never find one in person, so I was immediately excited! Of course, there was one problem--I had left my roll of quarters at the house. So we had to leave, go get the quarters, and come back. Clearly, this vending machine had already become a mission. When we returned, we discovered that you could purchase astrology cards, temporary tattoos, stickers, and mystery items from the vending machine. The mystery items were only 50 cents, while the other items were just $1, making this such a fun and inexpensive way to get a little piece of local art. I ended up getting a sticker and a mystery item, and I got two stickers that were about as opposite from each other as you could possibly get--but both were completely unique and fun. I loved that this was such an unexpected little discovery. It was a fun way to support artists, find something different, and take home a unique souvenir without spending much money. I would definitely go back to Frances and spend more time actually shopping because there were so many cute things to look at. But let's be honest--the vending machine is what drew me in and ended up being the highlight of our stop!
