Updating my review due to rude service. Walked in this morning, there was no greeting/welcome in, which is fine. I asked the young lady working the front counter if they still had their date cream cheese, as I thought this was possibly a seasonal flavor, and she offered me a condescending smile and pointed to the menu. A simple reply yes/no could've sufficed but all she said to me was "look at the menu". She did let me try the date cream cheese. Then I tried asking her more questions what I wanted to order and she just kept telling me to look at the menu instead of answering my questions, which was rude. I gave up and just ordered what I had last time because she was so unhelpful. They were so much nicer to the customers after me and greeted them as soon as they walked in. The bagels are delicious, but I personally wouldn't return due to rude service. The original woman who took my order the first time I visited was very polite, warm, and great manners. My new favorite bagel spot in Cedar Park! I was craving a lox bagel and decided to treat myself. I came in around 9 AM on a Wednesday, and it was nice and quiet. There was only one other person there working on their laptop. Since it was my first time, the man working there offered me free bagel samples and helped me choose the best bagel type for the Austin Lox. He explained that all of their bagels are sourdough, with bagels sourced from Philadelphia and salmon from New York. I noticed a sign listing their cream cheese flavors and was shocked to see a date flavor. I mentioned I would try it next time and he went to the back and brought me a generous sample that was at least a couple of tablespoons. It was so good. I also ordered an iced Dubai latte with oat milk. It tasted like an iced mocha, just a bit more bitter and similar to dark chocolate or a French hot chocolate. I would 100% come back. The staff was so nice, the shop is super cute, and there is plenty of parking in the shopping center. read more

Lovely bagel shop that opened not too long ago on Parmer, and I'm already a fan. Why? Mainly the friendliness of the owner Mo (With his New York roots) and his warmness every time I've visited. What I REALLY liked is the creativity of their bagel flavors. From Za'tar, rosemary to churro bagels alongside with the classics (like sesame, everything and plain ones) they make everything in house. Plenty of flavored cream cheeses as well, the date one was a huge hit with us as well as their scallion flavored one. Every time im in the area I pass by and get a lox bagel and a bag of bagels to take home. Unlike other bagel joints they're also open later which is a huge plus. The restaurant is cute as well with some really nice murals that are inviting. Highly recommended, and the prices are reasonable as well. Visited Bagel Bear on my way to Cedar Park. The interior is spacious, clean, and full of natural light. I purchased the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. The bagel itself had plenty of seasoning and a great texture. As for the sandwich, it's a good size but it needed a little something to make it more flavorful and bring it all together. I plan to return, but if I get a sandwich I'll add jalapeño cream cheese and get my bacon extra crispy. Service was quick and friendly! read more

If it was not for my local foodie page on Facebook, I would not have know about this place! It is located in a very unassuming strip mall next to a Shell gas station on Parmer Lane past Whitestone Blvd. (*If I had not put it into my Google Maps, I would not have found it). But, I am so glad I did. Once you walk in, it is very light and bright, and great mural (see pic). As previous reviewer said, I don't think they have ALL of what they are going to have, in regards to selection out yet, but they did have quite a few kinds out (Jalapeno Cheddar, Everything, Onion, Poppy, Sesame, and Za'atar). They had a couple of samples out, one being Sesame and the other Za'atar. If you have never tried Za'atar (*like me), try it! OMG, the spices are amazing, and definitely not something you would get any other bagel shop! Also, they MAKE THE BAGELS ON-SITE! You can tell the difference! The lady at cash register was super friendly! She explained all the choices they had and was very excited when I told her how I found them. I decided on trying the Za'atar bagel with plain cream cheese, and went with my favorite flavor, the "Everything" bagel, with (what another reviewer recommended here) the Date Cream Cheese. While I was waiting, the (owner or manager) came from kitchen and offered me a small iced tea (*not coffee as other reviewer had said). The tea was great! I don't like anything in my tea (No sugar or sweetener) and it had a great flavor! Thanks so much! Got home, and split with my husband, so each of us could try both. Only thing "bad" I would say, is it was waaaayyy tooo much cream cheese on the bagel. I took off about a Tablespoon off each one. But, the spices in the Za'atar was very good! I ordered the Austin lox bagel. I thought the bagels had a nice texture, but I was confused on the ingredients in the order. When ordering it didn't say there was avocado in the sandwich. But it had a mashed avocado (guacamole consistency) that was off putting. It also came with tomatoes which wasn't listed on the app I used to order. I would have gotten something different if I knew that were the case. Next time I'll stick to a regular lox bagel. After comparing the different ordering websites, the descriptions are different. The online ordering through their website is what I used, and it has inaccurate descriptions. I also paid for extra capers because it wasn't in the description, but turns out capers are included. So overall, the ordering service through their website is misleading. The location was nice and well kept. Their cappuccino with honey sweetener was delicious. Their matcha was not worth it in my opinion. read more

Tasty sourdough bagels. Crowded as HECK. During the week you can get their normal bagels with a number of different schmears, some fancy (i.e. expensive) coffee drinks and smoothies, and breakfast sandwiches using the bagels as bread. On the weekends they sell special seasonal bagels and drinks. Small space, so unless you get really lucky you're not gonna get a place to sit down and eat. They do have a drive through, though, so that's an option. read more

Their coffee is incredible, truly outstanding, and the bagels are unreal -- every single one is better than the last. It's also a great place to go with kids. It was a little messy because of stickiness, but I just licked my fingers and all was good! The food was delicious best bagel I've ever had (I have never been to NYC but my SIL has brought me bagels from there). I tried a build your own - Austin Lox (minus salmon) on ZA'ATAR bagel. WOW the flavors were amazing everything you can imagine plus some. My husband got the bacon egg and cheese bagel and that one was also exceptionally delicious. The bagel was recommended to get double toasted ugh such a great recommendation. We also got a plain bagel with Strawberry cream cheese... and a peach pie bagel. Like I said everything was really good. The service was amazing! There were many people working which was so nice to see that everything ran pretty smoothly. The ambiance is great as well. Whether you choose to eat there or to go. The music is nice and chill and not too loud. The best bagels money can't buy! Finally had a chance to stop by today (after seeing it being built/moving in), only to walk out completely empty handed. Pizza bagel? If it's not sitting out on the shelf they're out of them (which leads to more questions/concerns). The 3 cheese bagels sitting in the basket in front of you? Those actually now belong to someone else and there aren't going to be more. Here's a plate of matcha bagels you can pick through though... After seeing the reviews previously left, I was hopeful, but it seems like the bagel availability was greater when a bulk of the reviews were left vs what's actually available a few weeks later. Finding a bagel shop that makes SOURDOUGH bagels is impossible! So glad we found this one. Owner was extremely helpful when I reached out via social media. My daughter can't tolerate bakers yeast and needs breads made with a sourdough starter. It's not an extremely common sensitivity and it's a pita for her. This bakery will be a Godsend for her. I grew up in the Midwest with an authentic bagel factory in my neighborhood. I didn't think I'd ever experience a real, authentic bagel again since they've become something different in most places. Bagel Bear is the best I've had in many, many years! Chewy in the right way, and a variety of traditional styles as well as some sweeter ones like blueberry, cinnamon raisin, and apple. The za'atar ones are fantastic! I had one this morning with cream cheese and lox. I overheard the owner talking about how he's about to making his own pastrami on site; I'll be eagerly waiting for that. Lastly, the folks running the shop are were warm and friendly, happy and eager to serve you their delicious bagels, and their shop is pleasant should you wish to dine in. Most. Highly. This was our first time here! This place is very inviting, it has a nice set up of tables inside and some outdoors and beautiful mural on the wall. The owners greeted us and were very friendly. They offered samples of their bagels and some of the flavored cream cheeses which were delicious. We ordered the salted bagel with eggs, bacon and cheese as well as the churro bagel. They were very tasty and I have to say they are very creative with their cream cheeses, the churro flavor was nicely whipped in to have a subtle and great taste. We will be back! read more
