Let me start by saying that I am a regular at the Metric location. The service there is fast and friendly. The food comes out quickly and is always hot and exactly as I ordered. Efficiency is consistent. This new location does not meet those standards. So beware if you go to 620. They close at 2:30 so I arrived at 1:50 thinking that was plenty of time. I was wrong. The sign said seat yourself so I grabbed a table. After about 10 minutes I had to ask for a menu. They brought one but no drink order or silverware. After at least 5-7 minutes I stopped a server to take my order. By this time I was getting anxious because closing time was near. My plate comes and my hash browns were not extra crispy as ordered. She took my plate and said that they would crisp them up. Then she comes back and tells that the kitchen had already turned off the grill so they couldn't crisp them so they took them off the plate and brought it back without potatoes. Later she brought the hash browns back out to see if I wanted them. I said yes because I was hungry. Of course by now my whole plate was cold. So I ate cold eggs, etc. My tea glass was empty so I flagged someone to bring me a refill. She took my glass and came back empty handed and told me because they were closing they had already dumped the tea out. She walked off and then I realized I didn't even have water to drink. I had to ask someone else if I could please have some water. I finished my meal fuming. A small silver lining is that after all this the manager came over and told me that she was comping my meal. So this review was going to be one star, but not charging me upped it to 2 stars. I will stick with the Metric location in the future and won't return to the 620 restaurant. read more

Service was a little chaotic during our visit, but a large number of customers arrived at about the same time, so it was understandable. Rather than focus on that, I'll focus on the food. The food and drinks were excellent, just as I expected based on my experience at one of their older locations. The Mexican Latte was outstanding. I ordered the corned beef hash with over-medium eggs and an English muffin, and everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I also tried some of the pancakes a family member ordered, and they were fluffy, flavorful, and delicious. My only suggestion would be to serve real butter instead of the whipped or imitation butter. Overall, a very good experience. Despite the busy atmosphere, the quality of the food more than made up for it. I'll definitely be back--though probably at a less hectic time. read more

I can't believe I've waited so long to visit a Café Java! Please don't be like me--next time you see one, stop in! First, the service. Everyone was very friendly and very genuine. No one was playing the phony "beg for your tip" game. I enjoyed each interaction I had with them. When my food was given to a customer sitting next to me at the counter in error (his order was the same), they were very apologetic and a fresh order came out very quickly. That leads to my meal. Breakfast! Breakfast is served all day, and the variety of offerings is wide. I had to get a pancake. It was so fluffy! Absolutely perfect! The bacon was cooked just right as well. My scrambled eggs, however, were a disappointment. I expected some nice fluffy eggs, but I got what seemed to be a pancake of egg folded up on itself. No thank you. My Diet Coke was served in a can with a glass of ice without a straw. I'm not sure why no straw, but it's either awareness of the environment or was an oversight. I'm going with the environment! I don't know what the refill situation is since drinks come in cans. When I arrived, the place was packed. If you find this situation, look for the counter. You'll most likely find a seat there. Found this fairly new restaurant on 620 through friends. First visit was for breakfast and had the coffee cream French toast. Outstanding ! Next visit was for lunch and hesitated to order the Rueben sandwich since there hasn't been a great one since either Katz's or Manny Hattans closed. Waitstaff talked me into it and guess what , we have a new winner. Made old style piled with corn beef, kraut, Swiss cheese with thousand island dressing. My wife and I ended up going here because were looking for something nearby because we were extremely hungry one weekend and we didn't really care where we went. Now after hearing this you'd probably think that we just got whatever service and the food was average, but no that's not what happened at all. The service was good, the drink options were plentiful and tasty as well (I got a chai latte and my wife got a london fog), and there was a ton of food options available for omnivores and vegetarians alike. The bacon was crisp and flavored well. The service was ok, but nothing outstanding, with the exception of their politeness. I got water instead of coffee since I had some already. Not once was my water refilled. I had been here 1 time before and sat at a table and the service was better then this time at the bar. My food did come out fairly fast. The astetics was ok, but it reminds me of a large kitchen. Lots of light but even though there is, the place feels empty. Unlike the other 2 places that feel like a home. Decent. Not the best, not the worst. It gave me Waffle House vibes. Very diner-ish. Husband and I went in on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. I ordered the veg tacos and a side of hash browns and an earl grey. Husband got the Greek omelet with an English muffin and some kind of cuppacino. Earl grey was delish as was my husbands coffee. The veg tacos were alright, but I think they were more concerned about how it was plated rather than if it was easy to pick up and eat. The presentation was two tortillas laid flat and then the fillings just spread out over the two randomly. I had to personally move fillings myself so that I was actually able to pick up the taco. In practice, it would be better to just plate the tacos a little more efficiently. The hash browns were yummy and it's a solid quantity for what you're paying for it ala carte! Our waiter was super nice but we barely saw him. Literally like maybe twice. Once to take our order, once to pay, and one time in between that to fill our waters. He was nice but needless to say, if I barely see you and my tip is based on the service provided, then the tip ain't gonna be high bc what am I basing my tip off of....? Would I return? Probably. Went for breakfast with a friend with our two toddlers on a Sunday morning around 8:30. They do not have high chairs; however, they do have booster chairs that you can put in the booth. They do have a good selection of kids' menu, which is appreciated. I ordered the Ultimate Migos breakfast. I would say it's an OK breakfast to have. The beans were very watery, the jalapeños and vegetables are chopped pretty big, and there were barely any tortilla chips in there. I also ordered the 16-ounce cappuccino, and the foam on top was a lot compared to the coffee, so I had to get a lot of foam before I could get to the coffee part of it. it's an OK breakfast spot to stop by. I waited 10 minutes before I finally asked someone to help me. I noticed that one of the managers was talking to a couple behind me and I had to flag down a server to get my order going then another manager stopped by as I hadn't gotten any water or coffee. Just before my order arrived, my assigned server brought my food over. I can tell you that there was a very loud din and a lot of echoing with poor acoustics, which made it difficult to hear and be heard. In fact the server that took my order, ordered the corned beef hash rather than the ground beef patty meal. it was only fair with the ground beef patty, being not seared and requiring a good deal of seasoning. Very small amount of hashbrowns and corned beef I did see was extremely finally ground. And could not recommend. The biscuits were the most disappointing. It looks like they use premade biscuits that they squished down. They are flat I guess so it's easier to make a sandwich but when I think of biscuits, I like to think of something that's at least an inch thick, if not more with lots of layers and pillowy. My sunny side up eggs were the only item that was truly good. I may or may not try them at lunchtime, but I can get many of the items and sandwiches, including corn, beef hash of a more superior at the Cedar Park diner off Lakeline. read more

Scrambled eggs were folded, overcooked and had something gray in it. Pancakes were delicious. I had to go to hostess to get someone to wait on me after 15 minutes of being ignored. I went for lunch twice. I ordered sourdough turkey both times. 1st sandwich was delicious with lots of turkey. 2nd sandwich on a different day was not the same. 1 thin slice of overcooked turkey, cheese was not melted, no mustard and was even cut different. A ONCE-IN-ALIFE-TIME EXPERIENCE. Bad from start to end . We recently moved to Cedar Park and are willing to try new local eateries. The reviews for Java Cafe at RM-620 were showing as "good," so we tried it for brunch. It was busy on Sunday, 2/15, which we expected. Reception lady took our phone # and said she'd page us, so we waited 15 to 18 mins, then checked - but she had not paged, left us jangling out to dry. A bad start. We ordered, but 38 mins later, no food... but a [new] server came by and asked us if we were ready to check out (there were no 'used' plates on the table), so I started to say "Yes," but my wife said we hadn't gotten our food yet. Then quite quickly, our food came: her eggs Benedict were barely warm; hash browns charred, but barely even warm; my oatmeal (instant..?!) was a watery soup; "grilled English muffins" were 'dry grilled' (not with butter per the menu) and had taste of charred hash browns. The wait staff hustled to correct, but the efforts were too little, too late. Our food was cold because it sat at the server window, but was not brought to our table. There were two staff "fixers" working to correct things that having TWO MORE servers would have prevented in the first place. The oatmeal, the servers could not have prevented that disaster. Instant oatmeal has no place on a restaurant menu, in this oatmeal-foodie's opinion..! Over all assessment: terrible - so we will not be back. Once is enough..! read more
