A must visit any time you are in the area! The closest we have come to a New York deli in TX.

This place is truly the best for a bagel sandwich! I have come here every so often for the last two years and it is consistently good. Me and my boyfriend love the pastrami egg and cheese bagel sandwich. Recently he added peppers and onions and it was so good! Gave it more of a Philly cheesesteak vibe! The employees here are always super nice and service is great. Can't recommend enough!

What was described and what was received.

I'm kinda bummed at the sandwich I just received. It was nothing as described. The meat was dry and flavorless. The meat was stringy. It was a tough bite and required excessive pulling to acquire an actual portion. I have to believe this was a bad day. I know they can do better.

If you like Reuben sandwiches, I swear to God, you will not find a better one anywhere!!!!!!! But you might want to find someone to split it with cause it's huge! I'm kind of freaking out here because this pastrami is so succulent and flavorful ... I kind of wish I was hungrier because I don't want it to go to waste! (PS if anyone knows how to reheat a hot sandwich and sure like to know!). I got a couple bagels and veggie cream cheese for tomorrow. I'm sure they'll be top notch too! Please people, don't skip this little fabulous hole in the wall. I know I'll be back regularly.

Moving day lunch? Say LESS. Talk about a sandwich place that doesnt skimp out on meat. I didnt even know what pastrami was and decided to get it because my friend was raving about it and it was a 10/10 decision. Delicious!!!! I also love saurkraut and it complimented the pastrami perfectly. I want more!!!

How do you write a review for this place? Terrific food at somewhat reasonable prices, but an owner that is well known for abusing customers and neighbors. After visiting, I was volunteering at the food bank next-door and he came in and yelled at them for supposedly having some of their volunteers parked in front of his place. (All as they are packing food for underprivileged kids.) And yet the food is good. Five stars without the attitude. Alas. Perhaps the mystique of the rude owner works in New York but it doesn't make for a good look here. Grow a soul, sir, life is beautiful and your neighbors are doing amazing things. Maybe take them some bagels and cream cheese every now and then?

Great bagels, weird-mannered staff. I found this place through Google maps, as I've been craving bagel sandwiches for breakfast recently. This location was about a 10 minute drive from where I was, and seemed like it had decent reviews and ample options to choose from. The shop itself is set up like a Subway/sandwich shop, but the seating is limited despite a wide open entrance. All the staff seemed huddled/stressed behind the tiny counter at the back of the shop. The cashier was quiet and polite, but the guy slicing bagels seemed pretty uptight (um, but it's a quite Sunday morning in North Austin? We're not in Time Square with tourists lining up around the block?). I ended up getting an Egg & Cheese bagel sandwich made with a garlic bagel. I was hoping the garlic bagel would have a stronger garlic smell/taste, but it had the texture of a tough, plain bagel. But there was lots of cheese and egg so for the price, I did get a fully-packed bagel sandwich!

UPDATED REVIEW: 4 star bagels / 1 star service This place used to be so damn awesome. The food is still good but now they don't let you choose your own cream cheese for your breakfast sandwiches. They also don't do singles/ half dozens/ dozen orders. They forcefully want you to order sandwiches only. The owner is still extremely rude and has no customer service skills whatsoever. Go ahead and keep coming here for a decent bagel, but I'd rather go to other spots moving forward (wholy bagel is by the way). Sad how this place used to be a 5 star favorite and has done a complete 180.

This place is meant for order pick up. There are only 2 tables outside. If you want a pastrami it must be ordered ahead of time. The owner made an exception for us. Hearty sandwiches with lots of flavor. Spent about $40 for 2 sandwich's/drinks/chips. Keep in mind that sandwich's are very large. Very high quality meats and cheeses used.

How late do they serve breakfast bagels?

Do they bake their own bagels on site?

I am 99% sure they bake their own bagels on site.

    Are these bagels steamed?

Cassie , I don't believe so. i'm pretty sure they are baked but they are very good..

Are the bagels boiled and then baked?

Taste and texture make me say yes. Also, don't miss out on the lox sandwich; it has tons of lox and cream cheese and just the right amount of tomato and microthinly sliced red onion. I prefer mine with sesame seed bagels, but these are excellent… Read more

I went with the passion fruit (maracuyá) juice and it was delicious. I ordered the cachapa with grilled beef and it was amazing, I loved it. It was perfectly cooked, the cheese was delicious and the beef added the perfect savory balance. The service was 10/10, the guy in the front who helped me with the order was friendly and the food came out quickly. You can tell they care about both the food and the customer experience. I already know I'll be coming back to try more items on the menu

She let us know the tupepito was a popular item, and the sweet plantain was a favorite among people that liked salty and sweet things. So of course we had to order those! I was looking online, and pepitos seem to be more like sandwiches, but the ones here reminded me more of a mix of a flatbread and taco. And it was delicious and so filling! They give a lot of meat and toppings so I definitely think it's worth it. And the sauces are delicious. They provide garlic, corn, ketchup, bacon, chipotle, and cheese sauce so you have so many ways to mix and match and experience different flavors between bites. But my personal favorites were the corn, garlic, and chipotle. I also saw they have cachapas and tequeños on the menu, so will have to try that some time too! They also have burgers but idk if anyone really comes here for the burgers when there are so many other specialized items on the menu.

Price - $10-15 for a plate of noodles without any protein and veggies. So it can easily add up to make your plate an extra $5-$10 if you add anything to it. 3. Ambiance - this is a bar and restaurant setting. Great for hang outs with friends and family. Dress code is casual. 4. Food - I had their CARBONARA PASTA and CHICKEN ARROSTO. With a side of salad and Garlic bread. Everything was good and tasty. The noodles were fresh, thick, and different. However, it was super salty. Did I pick the wrong sauce perhaps or was the chef a bit heavy handed on the salt? 5. Cleanliness - Dining area was outdoors in the back on a cold day. Good thing they had a heating lamp near by. They managed their tables well. No dirty plates lingering around. Restrooms were not bad either. Small, but clean. SUMMARY It's great that they make fresh noodles, but $20+ for a plate of noodles is a bit much. Overly paying for salty food, I rather go to a chain Italian restaurant. Not worth the hype in my opinion.
