I have lived on Long Island for 26 years and have yet to find a better Bagel. The service is always outstanding and prompt even if there is a line out the door. The only thing better than there food is the dedication to provide to their customers. They NEVER CLOSE. During hurricane sandy I was left without power for over 10 days, however I counted on The Bagel Master to provide food for me and my family as there was no where else to eat. I never mind waiting on line to order. Today when I finally gave my order for lox, the guy told me I'd have to wait they were slicing the lox. I watched for 10 minutes as they sliced lox and my clerk dealt with phone orders. I asked for my lox and he said I still had to wait. I was getting tired of watching them slice lox and my order still wasn't filled, so I said forget it just let me pay for my other items. Wow, this place brings back memories! My mother first took me here when I was about 5 years old and it was a staple of my childhood. I can still remember getting the most delicious everything bagel ham sandwiches in the morning before school. The bagels are a bit smaller and denser than the typical NY bagel, but the flavor is just unbeatable. If you get them hot, they're probably the best bagel in the whole world. I would give this place one more star...but honestly speaking I really think their customer service skills BLOW! They don't seem happy to be there at all, especially the tall blonde boy with the heavy Russian accent and the tall blonde with the caked up face..if this place is family owned I wouldn't be surprised if those two are related just based off their attitudes. Best whole wheat everything bagel in town! Lox is sushi grade! Cream cheeses are all wonderful. White fish is the best. Egg white omelets are great as well if you want to go light. Both the bagels and everything you'd ever want to put on them are excellent! read more

Sorry but any store that only sells bagels cannot call itself a bagel master if they don't sell garlic bagels. Seriously??? It is not cost effective for me to give a good review then. I stood in a very long line. Sign says you sell garlic bagels and then you non-chalantly claim you stopped making them because it is not "cost effective" and act as if I am lucky to get any bagel at all. Their quality has always been top notch,their staff for the most part has been great(especially one particular lady,I believe she said her name is Alla)she is so pleasant yet professional in every way,she truly has one of a kind customer service ! Every time my family or just I alone come ,she surely treats us as Well as other patrons with at most respect,with a beautiful smile(every time!!)and super fast service too! Conveniently located little shop where I stopped for a rest on a bike ride. Very casual place. There is a good variety of bagels to choose from and the service is pretty quick. I ordered the pumpernickel bagel which could have been way more pumpernickely. Having it toasted with some butter made up for a bit of it though. read more

I just got two flat everything bagels and some cream cheese. Unfortunately, I'm not pleased. I was referred to Bagel Master by my brother and his kids. The bagel were dry and seemed old. We had a bad experience. The service was horrible. I counted 11 people on the other side of the counter and 8 customers (our family made up 5 of the 8!). Common sense would say that multiple staff members would work on an order. But here, common sense is dead. They stood around and looked busy while we fumed. I usually get an omlette, you can add as many kinds of vegetables as you like. It comes with a free coffee and bagel. All of this comes out to no more than about 6 dollars? If I am in the mood for a bagel, I usually get the everything flagel (flat bagel) with veggie cream cheese, or the sunflower seed flagel with cinnamon raisin cream cheese (don't knock it until you've tried it!). No matter what I get, it's always good. Service is always prompt and friendly. Tips... - For parking- their tiny lot is usually full. If you are just ordering to-go, park in the CVS lot to save yourself from headaches/parking mayhem. - If you know what you want and/or you are ordering alot of stuff, call them in advance for pick up. We've been going for years. The food is consistently good and the bagels are great. My favorites are the egg onion bagels and sesame flagels. A little low fat veggie cream cheese and thinly sliced tomato - the perfect breakfast. We've also used them several times for catering on the holidays - including a turkey on Thanksgiving - and the food is always great. read more

The past two times I have attended this establishment, I have called and ordered my order before hand. However when I arrive, they seem to have not started making my bagel yet. I end up waiting LONGER then a customer who did not call in an order. To put it into perspective, I will order and arrive 20 minutes later and end up waiting another 20 minutes. I have been a Bagel Master customer for well over 15 years, maybe more. They have the best bagels in town. My favorite bagel is everything. Normally, I get cream cheese or the He-man which includes egg, cheese, bacon, and sausage. It is definitely the best and delicious. However, the past couple times I've noticed (and have taken pictures) of the lack of seeds on the everything bagels. They are really skimping out and I spend over $20 there pretty much whenever I come. PLUS, it is always packed and the go to spot for bagels AND they are apart of my sons lunch program. I really don't understand with all the business they are doing why they feel the need to do this. New cooks who don't live up to older expectations or trying to save money? I don't know. Now, they are also getting smart and wrapping the bagel so the seeds are showing when you open it but when you turn it over it is REALLY disappointing and inadequate. I also told and showed a worker there once a picture and he said "oh, I'm sorry about that." So, I would hope he would report it to management and the problem would be corrected but NO. This Saturday it happened again! I made sure to take pictures. Please correct this. Mostly, the flat everythings have been a problem. My Mom who has been loyal to them even when I was little buying us the green bagels for St. Patrick's day and getting dozens for our family. She now goes all the way to Plainview to Bagel Boss when we live around the corner just to get bagels with SEEDS and who don't skimp out. It is really unfortunate. read more

The past few times Ive gone in there, I asked for the center to be pulled out of the bagel. Two different people making my food used the same gloves they used to handle money, the register and/or a dirty rag. I asked why they dont change gloves and was told they are not single use gloves like subway uses and a waste of money. When I told the manager how disgusting this was, not in front of customers, he got angry. This place is dirty. The people that work there are dirty. This place is always packed. And for good reason. Their bagels are some of the best i've ever had. Period. End of story. The lines can get VERY long during the weekends. And it is totally worth the wait. Their lox spread (unlike most other bagel joints) have HUGE visible chunks of lox. They most definitely do not skimp. The only downside is that they only have maybe 7 tables for dining in. That is the only thing keeping this review from 5 stars. If Bagel Master were open 24/7, Bagel Boss would lose more than half their late night clientele. read more
