The lady waiting on us disappeared and we had to track her down. The music is awful playing in the background.

Egg whites, spinach, swiss on wheat wrap
Michele C.

I figured if you get blood drawn next door, you probably deserve an egg sandwich. I waited on a long line of kids on lunch from the high school across the street but the line moved fast. The workers behind the counter were friendly and very attentive. I ordered egg whites, spinach, swiss on a wheat wrap. It was fresh and hot. I could have used a little more melted cheese but overall the wrap was good. I would come back to try other stuff on their menu.

It's has a real nice location inside a plaza with options. Lots of parking but the area is busy so your going to have to look. They do offer outdoor seating under some shade besides sitting inside for breakfast or even lunch. Inside they have a large selection of breakfast items you would find at a bagel shop. There are long lines and I would t let that scare you off because they move pretty quick. So I'm going to come back and see how they are second time around. Why.? Because there busy and probably understaff the tables were left dirty so when I went you have a chance of cleaning up your own table. They have a good turn around so be careful because the coffee is extremely hot so let it cool down a bit without the lid. Lastly. I ordered a raisin bagel with cream cheese. From the photo I think you can see one raisin and two slices of bacon. I'm surprised they put that together for me because made me feel like I should have ordered something else or gone somewhere else. But they do have local long term clients who they seem very familiar with so let's see what happens next time.

A dozen of assorted bagels. Made a nice touch to our Christmas breakfast spread

We received a free dozen bagel coupon when we moved. We picked some up on Christmas morning and we really enjoyed the bagels! My absolute favorite was the French toast bagel. The employees were friendly and the place was very clean. They gave no trouble with accepting the coupon. I will definitely be back!

Whole wheat everything bagel toasted with vegetable cream cheese, not that good...

This place is well located in the South Gate Shopping Center. There is an abundance of parking in the private parking lot. Even though you might have to walk a little far to get to your car when's busy at the Center. The Bagel Cafe is located right in the corner on the south east corner of the Shopping Center. The Shopping Center is very nice and well lit so you'll fell safe at night. Outside is nice and clean with the awning standing out in the right ways. The inside isn't as good the seats and tables are way past their functioning days. It must be all of the high school kids beating them up in their lunch periods. They don't need to keep buying new chairs/tables but at least refinish them and put new fabrics on them. The servers are super nice but the food takes awhile. When it does get to you in a very courteous and friendly manor it's not the best. Grab a bagel if your in the area and don't feel like driving around. But if you're already out and about don't go out of your way to come here.

My egg, sausage, & cheese sandwich on a kaiser roll - delicious!
Panda T.

My best friend took me here for breakfast while I was in town for an egg sandwich. It was delicious- everything was made by scratch, the kaiser roll was so fresh. My buddy got one with bacon & sausage. We got a to go carton of cookies, drinks, & snacks - for the both of us it was about $20. L Loved the assortment of bagels & hand mixed cream cheese. Oh & don't forget the huge homemade cookies!! Such a great treat! Be aware that the lines are long & the food is made to order, but it's worth it.

A bagel with an enormous amount of cream cheese with almost little to no LOX

Best bagels on LI hands down! Sandwiches are also great, and have had great experiences with catering with them as well.

The service was fantastic; our server was very attentive with drinks and took our orders promptly. The whole family loved the food! We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, almond pancakes, cannoli French toast, eggs Benedict, a grilled cheese sandwich, and the Salvadoran platter. Everything we get here is consistently delicious, zero complaints! The drinks were great too, including the watermelon juice, regular coffee, and lattes. We couldn't be happier with the service and the food. I will always recommend My Grandmother's Kitchen for brunch!

We went on Juneteenth, and I guess the restaurant didn't realize that people were off from school…read moreand work. My group was slightly bigger, so we were sat upstairs. They asked for drink orders and we were left alone for a long time until the drinks arrived. Though we were ready to order, the server just dropped off our drinks and went to bring another table upstairs. I went down to the counter to get someone to take our order, and it took nearly an hour before our order was in (and even then, they took the order of the second table before taking our party's order). It was almost an hour and a half since we entered the restaurant when the food finally arrived at our table, and then it took so long for someone to come with our check and process payment, we went down to the counter to do it. During this time, another family was seated upstairs and left due to not being attended to. This caused big delays in our day and I had to cancel an appointment because we spent over two hours at this restaurant when we didn't want to. That said, food was good. I got the lemon blueberry pancake, which was a little bit gummy but mostly tasted fine. My brother got the mangu, which is kinda hard to find around here, let alone on the menu of a breakfast brunch restaurant. It was my brother's first time having it, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Besides him choosing scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs, it was very classic mangu breakfast. The real crabmeat omelet was another hit-- crabmeat was so real there were little pieces of shell lining-- really ambitious and deliciously executed. The menu is really fun and the food was overall good. Again, I think the very slow service wasn't on purpose and it's because they didn't anticipate such a large crowd on a Friday, but I would say run if they try to seat you upstairs and you're the only ones up there. Be prepared to wait for a long time if you want the reward of nice food.

We were seated immediately, and from there the experience just kept getting better. The menu has something for everyone, including a vegan menu plus the regular menu all had vegan alts as well, which is surprisingly rare for any place and especially a brunch spot. Everything we ordered was excellent. The piña colada pancakes were a standout, topped with pineapple chunks, whipped cream, and coconut flakes for the perfect balance of sweet and tropical. The pigs in pancakes were another favorite, featuring sausages wrapped in fluffy pancakes and beautifully presented. We also loved the loaded home fries--a mix of regular and sweet potatoes topped with melted cheese, jalapeños, and bacon bits. They were packed with flavor. The alcoholic drink menu is fairly limited, but the mimosas were well made, generously poured, and hit the spot. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. One of the most memorable parts of the restaurant is its unique atmosphere. A large werewolf statue greets you at the entrance, and the Gothic, Halloween-inspired décor gives the place a fun personality that sets it apart from the typical brunch spot. There's also outdoor seating if you prefer to dine outside. If you're looking for a unique brunch experience with great food, friendly service, and plenty of menu variety, Cornucopia Nursery is definitely worth checking out.

Whether dining in or ordering takeout, the food takes far longer than expected. Takeout orders are routinely 15 minutes or more past the quoted pickup time, which is frustrating when you're planning your day around their estimate. Service has also been inconsistent. The waitstaff often seems disorganized, and communication regarding delays is lacking. I understand restaurants get busy, but after multiple visits, the same problems keep occurring. The food is decent, but not enough to make up for the long waits and repeated service issues. After giving this restaurant several opportunities, I don't see myself return

It's nice to go to someplace new to me. It was hard to find parking because of all the snow from the 3rd snowstorm that is still not clearing the streets and sidewalks. Hubby dropped me off and found one. It's a kitchy looking place with many TVs and multiple levels. The door to the place looks like an English phone booth with 2 dialup phones in the entryway. Our waiter Joe was very nice. The girl who sat us gave us our menus right away. I had to wait for hubby to park, but I had time to look over the menu. All the choices sounded good. Hubby wound up with a Spinach Benedict with Roasted Tomatoes with nicely Crispy fries and a lemon Benedict sauce to die for. I got a Avocado Toast with Goat Cheese and Caramelized Onions on whole grain toast. The Arugula salad that was also on the plate was covered lightly with a lemony dressing. I added Cholula Sauce and it was so good. Another point I'd like to make is that the bottles of hot sauces were clean with no cruddy tops. That turns me off so good for them.
