Repulsive. I just had seamless refund our entire order. We ordered a few egg dishes, and pancakes. The hash browns and side of potatoes tasted like they had freezer burn. My omelette and my son's eggs both had a sour taste so I obviously didn't intend to eat them. Right before I discarded them I noticed blue MOLD on our eggs. I have passed this place hundreds of times and never thought once about coming in. Well, today I decided to stop in and see what it's all about. 3 stars because my sandwich was very blah. The staff wasn't overly friendly or even friendly. The sandwich took 10 minutes and there was one person in the place that was sitting down. I would come back and try a different sandwich and hope it isn't so dry and blah. I got a plain bagel with egg and avocado, salt and pepper. There was literally no avocado on my sandwich which is a HUGE disappointment because it cost extra and should have added some flavor. I usually have the problem of places over peppering my food but they definitely did not do that here. My sandwich had no taste. Like, the bagel didn't even taste like anything. The girl who took my order looked like she would rather be doing anything else. I said hi. I smiled. She literally stared blankly at me. Not welcoming at all. Anyways, there's my review. This place is actually really bomb. I know there are a million bagel locations in the area, but they make their sandwiches and food fresh, they use fresh ingredients, and they do a really solid job. If you're looking for a really solid breakfast/lunch option in the area, this is it. Or you can drive down the road and get a million of the exact same, over cooked, rubbery, reproduced nonsense sandwhiches with nothing on them. They also have a TON of options here ranging from specials to lunch plates, gluten free, and healthy substitutes. Lastly, and most important, the people here are so so so nice. Every time I walk in I get the feeling like I'm there best friend. One of the, if not THE, most important things to me is good service. If I drive down RT. 22 there are maybe 20 different bagel/breakfast options within every 5 minutes... in fact there is another place by that I used to like. But ONLY MAX 1/10 has good service... 1/50 having great service. And this place has great service. They listened and responded to every request I made (before I ever showed up, and reflected in what I received) and then were just so kind the second I walked in, before even knowing who/what order I was, showing me they're just genuinely this awesome to everyone. The whole staff was great, asking if everything was made correctly as I sat there checking it (big order, gotta check ‍) , and seeing if I wanted anything else, suggesting other menu items that were similar to what I got... but there was also one associate in particular who just straight up needs to be in sales because he was just too good at being kind (to people who likely don't deserve it). Bottom line being, really good people. Highlights- good people, making good food, with fresh ingredients. What else do you want? Going to be happy to keep supporting them read more

Maybe I came in on a bad day but I got a flagel with butter that was cold and hard and tasted like it was made yesterday. There was barely any butter on it either which only served to enhance its' dryness. The guy behind the counter looks like he would rather be elsewhere. Very doubtful I'll be returning. read more

This place has the same menu as any diner you drive by but I personally like how they season their food here better. Pretty friendly service. I believe it's a family owned business and I always love to support smaller business anyways because you'll always find hidden gems that way. I love their paninis and the smoothies options they have are all really good. I get the tango smoothie that has peach, mango, strawberries, and organic honey. A little thick side but I'm on the road most the time delivering food and it's not like going to finish it in one sitting. Disappointing. Friendly service but just ok bagels. The onion on my toasted onion bagel with butter was non existent. So was the butter. The coffee was lukewarm and was almost cold twenty minutes down the road. I took a look in the bagel bin. The onion bagels seemed to have about six to eight onion flakes on each. Ordered a bagel and cream cheese. I'd say it's average always better than Dunkin' Donuts. Bagels were nice soft perfect texture, however they do not put as much cream cheese as most places. Also orders ham egg and cheese which again the bagel itself was perfect and the sandwich tasted good but they got my order wrong. read more

the bagel tasted fine but EXTREMELY stingy on the toppings. Just don't expect your bagel to be loaded like normal bagel places do. I got one piece of bacon on my bacon egg and cheese chopped up and got a five dime size pieces of avocado i paid extra for. Definitely wont be back. read more

I am going to give them 5 stars right from the start. That's for friendly smiles and good service. Which is increasingly hard to find. Honestly I have only had two menu items things here but they were Delicious! First the 4.99 breakfast special bacon, eggs, sausage, homefries toast or bagel. Then the New Jersey skillet which has bacon, sausage, green pepper, onion, scrambled eggs and potatoes, cheese, toast or bagel. I stopped in yesterday morning with my wife and son. I was greeted by a very friendly young man and also another man and women who I believe where his parents. They took my order told us to have a seat and brought it to us when it was ready. The bagels were so soft and delicious. The Fagel(Flat Bagel) was absolutely amazing especially when paired with Taylor ham & cheese. They even checked on us to make sure we were satisfied. Best of all their prices were so reasonable compared to the other bagel shops around. We will defiantly be making this our bagel shop of choice now. They won us over with there friendliness. Only downside if it even is a downside is that there are on Rt. 22 and not in downtown Scotch Plains. But if you have not been here yet, please visit them. You wont be disappointed, read more

Ordered a turkey Italiano sandwich (turkey, roasted red peppers, spinach, mozz on a sub) with lettuce and mayo and no cheese. It came with fries and all of it was great! I tried this place a couple weeks ago and have been coming back ever since. Great fresh bagels and more. Try the lox spread and chive cream cheese. Friendly and fast service from the owners. They are open seven days a week and have a lunch menu. Lots of seating for a Saturday morning run with the kids. read more

I wouldn't say the most disappointing bagel ever, but it was disappointing. You can tell that these bagels are not homemade but bought from some supplier. They are one step above gas station bagels but below a Dunkin' Donuts bagel. The bagel tasted like something you'd get at a meeting at work, kinda plasticy but edible. The cream cheese was the most disappointing! I got strawberry cream cheese thinking it would be ACTUAL HOME MADE, but it was NOT. They threw some artificially flavored pink spread that they're passing off as strawberry. It was so upsetting watching them spread it on a bagel I paid for. I should have went out of my way for my usual bagel place. This place isn't worth the 4.5 stars it currently has on yelp. I'd say it's more of 2-2.5. This has to be one of the best bagel places I have ever been to what so ever. The service is just so great and they even have my 5 year old son a free mini bagel as a gift and made him smile! They are open 7 days a week and the owner is always there. That's how you know he cares about his business, you don't see owners at their stores much nowadays. I also love how their bagels are made fresh every single day and so is their coffee! I would say their breakfast sandwiches and all breakfast and lunch menu items are great! Including their specials!
