Staff were very friendly, they have both lots of indoor seating (you can also order inside) and a drive through if you feel like just stopping by. They get busy especially in good weather. It gets the busiest at lunch. Most of the customers here seem to be locals. There are still lots of students. It's a popular place for them to work at. This is a mom and pop hot dog shop near my girlfriend's home town. We stopped by after a trip to New Orleans on a Sunday. Open until 9pm most nights. This is exactly as you'd expect. They have dogs, burgers, fries, ice cream and soft drinks. They do a few things really well. I had a footlong chilli dog with cheese, Cajun fries and a soft drink (medium). She had a 6" dog with regular fries and water. It was under $10. The food arrived quickly and was freshly made, a great tasting chilli and cheese on the dog, with a light Cajun seasoning on the fries. It was so nice we decided to test out their ice cream swirls. I ordered a Heath (which is basically a dime/daim bar for the Europeans reading this) and she went for the m&m one. These were like the Blizzards served at Dairy Queen - or, let's say a "Super McFlurry", so sweet and a perfect end to the meal. Well blended with chunks of the respective candy in the ice cream. We stopped at Larry's when we were in Athens last Sunday and enjoyed a midday meal. My husband's family grew up in the area and he remembers Larry's very well from his childhood. He, of course, would give the restaurant 5 stars. I, however, found the food to be just so so. I would rather have a grilled hot dog instead of steamed any day. The hamburger I had this past visit was good but nothing to write home about. The fries were quite the same. We did enjoy the casual atmosphere and the steamed hot dog won by 2 year old over too. What really caught my eye this time were there ice cream cakes. I drooled just looking at them. I did not, however, get a taste. I wanted to like this place. But. The hamburger was some kind of pre-made frozen patty that truly didn't taste like a real burger. The onion rings were also of the frozen variety and the cole slaw tastes only of vinegar. The malt was also disappointing.. I wanted to give it two stars because one seemed harsh.
