Our family comes here at least once a week. It's a woman owned local business that has baked goods, rice bowls and other tasty treats. There's some really great gluten-free options, especially on Thursdays. My kids love the pastries and they insist that the scrambled eggs are the best scrambled eggs in the world. On the weekend we get the waffle sandwich. They alternate week between gluten-free waffles and non-gluten-free ricotta pancakes. The desserts are the stars at Fluff. I can't help but get a fix of coconut and sugar with their macaroons. If you are a red velvet cake person, let me introduce red velvet cookies although don't know if that is what they call them. Something from everyone on this front but I rarely venture beyond the macaroons. The bowls with a heavy Thai influence include options such as a banh mi bowl. That's right, no baguette, just rice with a tofu option as well. Really good sauce and pickled flavor. Wish there were more veggies included as it a great taste, just wish more diversity in the toppings. Very casual dining room with tables for 2, 4, and a couple for bigger groups in the back. I need to make more trips to Athens - there's a few well respected restaurants and bakeries I've had bookmarked for several years. Headed back home from the PawPaw Fest, we decided to stop for some lunch. ***I should buy this eatery immediately, simply based on the name, alone. If you know me, you understand!*** Fluff is till to-go only. They have a window to order, and they bring out your drinks and meals to you. I did see a sign that they are opening back up their dine-in services very soon. The menu is concise and has things to pick from, while not being overwhelming. I tried the BBQ Tofu Breakfast Burrito. It's was good - just the right amount of Carolina sauce, but I really couldn't taste much else. Yes, I'm well aware tofu doesn't have its own flavor, but takes the flavor of the dominating other ingredients, so I really need to go back and try something else on the menu. I will note: I got two of their homemade cookies, one chocolate chip and one peanut butter, but those are sitting in my freezer for another day. They LOOK very good, however. On a weekend getaway, my wife and I ventured into Athens, Ohio and right before heading back to our cabin we decided to wait out the storm at fluff. While it was wet and gloomy outside, the decor inside (which includes whimsical cloud inspired murals) was warm and inviting. We both found the service to be quite warm, too, and helpful. We opted for a little coffee and split the delightfully named "Booty-Shaker" bar and an oatmeal fluff cookie "sammie." Headed over to Fluff for lunch but even though it was lunch, we both couldn't resist some of the brunch specials. Today's specials were ricotta pancakes, biscuits n gravy, breakfast pastries, pumpkin cheesecake and silverbridge coffee. I ordered the ricotta pancakes (so yum) and my date ordered the biscuits-n-gravy. We perused the in-house sweets while waiting for our meal and sipped on a mimosa. LOVE that each mimosa came with it's only bottle which made it more like 2 drinks if you keep adding the mimosa as you go. Seriously, the mimosas were in huge glasses I felt like that was a great value although really, the only one with a really good value. Although the food is quite yummy, the prices were really high. We ordered the two specials as I said above and each got a mimosas and paid $44 PLUS tax and tip. Ouch! Especially considering they are located in the heart of OU, a lower price point might bring in more students on a budget. Before heading out, we peeked around to find they offer quite a bit of vegan baked goods which is such a treat because good vegan goodies can sometimes be hard to come by. read more

Went in with my mom at 2:50 (10min before their closing) and the staff was welcoming enough to let us sit and eat our salads even though they were trying to close up. Fluff recently opened in the location formerly occupied by Cold Stone Creamery on Court St. They have a variety of baked goods including muffins, scones, croissants, cookies, cupcakes, truffles, cakes, cheesecakes and much more. In the morning for breakfast they serve bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on biscuits or bagels. I had the bacon, egg and cheese biscuits this morning and it was delicious, especially the biscuit which is made from scratch. They also have several to go options such as sandwiches and yogurt parfaits. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food didn't take to long considering it was made fresh. The prices are a little more expensive than you might find at other places but it's definitely worth the extra cost. read more

I have considered driving back three and a half hours from Cleveland to Athens on multiple occasions just to get a Quinoa Roasted Veggie Salad with Thai Peanut dressing. Hands down best salad I've ever had and one of the best places in Athens to grab a bite to eat. It's a little expensive (for a broke college student) if you add chicken or anything onto your order but in my opinion it's worth the investment. Also - highly recommend any of their gluten free bakery items specifically the chocolate peanut butter brownies with a cup of their house coffee! read more

I don't know how to put into words how much I love Fluff. The staff is so kind and amazing. The food is a game changer. I'm a big fan of the Winter Quinoa Salad. It's HUGE - like I'm not the type of girl to get full from a salad but I got two meals out of it. It's delicious, from the greens to the fruit to the cheese to the dressing. I also love the pesto egg & cheese sandwich. Unique pesto and fluffy eggs. Get it on a cheddar biscuit, trust me! Now on to desserts.......... nobody compares to Fluff. During the school year, I'm there every Pie Day Friday for a different flavor of pie and free cup of local coffee. I deeply enjoy the almond bars, pumpkin cookies, cupcakes, and slice day cakes. I like what I've had at Fluff. It's a little expensive to go there very often so it's more of a place to pick up a few treats some times. There's a few vegan baked goods that are really good. It also has a breakfast and lunch menu of some curries and salads. They use a lot of local products which is admirable and the staff is always helpful. I saw this and did not know they had such a big menu. It seemed like a small bakery, but it actually has a lot of breakfast and lunch items. There are the usual bakery items like cookies and cupcakes. It also serves breakfast sandwiches and salads. The cookies are in the $2 to $3 range, and the cupcakes are $3 something. Fluff uses a lot of local products. They have Herbal Logo Tea and Silver Bridge Coffee. I usually only come in to pick up a few treats. I like the vegan chocolate chip cookies. These are $2.50 each which is not cheap but this is not outrageous compared to other house made and organic cookies. It's perfectly cooked with it being chewy in the middle and slightly crunchy on the outside. They are sweetened without being overwhelmed. As for the rest of the menu, I think it's a bit too expensive, but the food is good though. For breakfast the Biscuits and Gravy is $8. It comes with pork or vegetarian mushroom gravy on top. Another breakfast choice is the Fluffhead for $6. It's a bagel with a choice of cream cheese, hummus, or pesto, and comes with roasted vegetables. The lunch menu has some good choices. It's a bit too expensive though. Salads here are pretty good. The Greenery is $7. It comes with a bunch of vegetables. The Quinoa Salad is $9. It's the same but it has quinoa. Tofu can be added to salads for $2. Another item is the Thai Bowl which is $9. It comes with jasmine rice, peanut sauce, and vegetables. Tofu can be added for $2. Fluff has some good specials. They have a happy hour from 4 to 6. All adult beverages are $2 off, and desserts are $1 off. There is also Curry Fridays where there are vegan options. There is the catering too with boxed lunches and party platters. I like to support the local businesses. I think it's a bit expensive but still good. The food at Fluff is great. I typically would recommend this location to everyone! However, the employees have been rude recently. One of the employees raised her voice and yelled at me for sitting in a wrong chair on the street in front of a crowd of community members as if I were her 12 year old child. I was very upset with this because I am someone who spends lots of money there and for them to disrespect their customers in front of lots of people is horrible. I called the manager to complain and they proceeded to make excuses and disregard my complaints. I would have never posted online if the manager acted as if they were going to handle the situation. Great local Athens business! I love to come here for lunch - my favorites are the Thai Bowl and the Thai currys (which are now always on the menu instead of only being available on Fridays). They are both really good portions with tons of vegetables and high quality chicken. My husband loves the bacon pretzel wonderland. The restaurant is undergoing some changes. The owner's Westside Wingery business is merging with Fluff, with the intention of having regular dinner service starting this fall. In anticipation of this, I would like to recommend the tacos to all the Yelpers. If you like spice, you must try the spicy fish cake and bombay shrimp. With their liquor license, dinner at Fluff will be wonderful! As others have mentioned, it can take a while to get your food, and prices are somewhat high for the area. Slooooooooooooooow, but decent. The food was okay, a solid B+. I ordered a breakfast burrito with hot sauce on the side. Nothing to write home about, but a decent sandwich. $6, plus $2 for coffee. My order took about 15 minutes to prepare. I heard 2 customers go to the counter to ask about their orders. This one guy said he had been waiting almost 20 minutes and told the cashier it would have been nice to know ahead of time that they were running behind. A family of three said they had been waiting 45 minutes. More patience than I have. So check ahead of time, I guess. The coffee was pretty good, so I didn't mind waiting, but that's probably not going to work for everyone. read more

Fluff is the bomb. Not only does the location rock, the staff is super-friendly and look happy to be there, AND they have gluten-free brownies (aka flourless chocolate cake, one of my all-time favorite desserts) that I can eat! Of course, being gluten-free there's a whole lot that I can't eat at a bakery, but they usually have two soups (and every time I've been there they've been different) so I always have an option. They source local foods (local oxtail chili, seriously) and care about helping other local businesses, too. This is yet another locally owned business that makes Athens the gem that it is. They stay open relatively late, have coffee, sandwiches, breakfast foods, soups, and, of course, an incredible selection of baked goods (though I wish more were gluten-free :-) ). They also post their daily specials on facebook. My boyfriend wants me to try their curry chicken soup, and I can't wait til it comes around again. My only criticism is that the soups could have a little more depth (i.e. more garlic! -- but I tend to like super-rich soups, maybe more so than some people). I'm happy that Fluff exists. read more

Yay Fluff! I'm severely disappointed this place opened up my last year at OU as I did not have enough time to truly appreciate it. Their scones are fantastic, as I frequently found myself bounding over to Fluff between classes just to savor one. If you have a chance, try their daily lunch specials. Totally worth it. Definitely one of my favorite eateries in Athens. I absolutely love the Cheese Ball and all the pastries! A few suggestions: 1) stay open later! You would get a lot more business from the college crowd if you were open when we are hungry! 2) I would make the to go salads a bit heartier.
