If you're looking for a good bagel in CT, Bagelicious in Cheshire and Bagelicious II in North Haven make delicious bagels. The prices are decent and their product is definitely better than the stuff you would find at a Dunkin. I frequently stop at the North Haven location on my way into work, lose to the highway and the back roads to my office. On those few days that I'm lucky enough to bring my son to work, it is always a requested stop. Be warned if you go through the drive thru there can be a wait...sometimes a long wait, but they are worth it. If the line has wrapped around to the doors and there aren't a lot of cars parked, grab a spot and run in because you will probably get served faster. Their bagels with cream cheese are great, but if you get a chance to try one of their sandwiches, you will not be disappointed. If you're like me and you like a chive cream cheese, theirs is a beautiful bright and flavorful green. Don't skip coffee while you're here. They make a great cup of joe. read more

I went to bagelicous with my cousin for breakfast they have the best bagels around . We tried the sesame the everything as well as the Asiago . . Delicious and I loved the veggie cream cheese . . They also have egg sandwiches which are very good as well . They do serve lunch too . The staff is very nice . It's always busy . Very clean inside as well .. The bagels were good, but the service was pretty slow considering it was not at all busy inside. The high school girl working the counter was dismissive and rude, and had no customer service. She was making comments about customers under her breath - calling one person obnoxious and making another comments about someone asking for extra butter - and the lady asked very nicely. There was also a LOT of traffic behind the counter, which just seems unsanitary. Lots of young kids who were definitely not working going back and forth. read more

This is a tale of two bagels. 1. Bagels are huge! Very fresh! Sandwiches are very good and these huge bagels serve as buns. 2. These are not your normal NY style bagels, they lack the crisp that I like. Apparently, people in North Haven have never seen one before because they line up early to get them and the staff is a hot mess rotating between being on their phones, talking with each other or pretty much killing time while people wait. Not sure who runs this place besides anyone under the age of 18, but all i saw were children eating and playing on their phones walking at the pace of a sloth. One was smacking gum, the other texting, another talking on her phone. I waited 24 min for a TOASTED BAGEL. This place could be a goldmine if it was run properly. The bagels are good but unfortunately coming here to get bagels is not an easy task. Their website used to accept online ordering until last year. That was so helpful but now they don't allow online or phone ordering. So we can expect a wait time of 20-30 minutes on any given day. Love Bagelicious! It's in a convenient location not too far off the highway and right on Washington Avenue in North Haven. They have another location in Cheshire as well. I don't recommend going through the drive thru. The inside is a warm welcoming atmosphere with big chalkboard menu panels, a variety of seating options, and the bagels displayed right behind the counter. The quality is unbeatable. They offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches and lunch options. My favorite is the Nova Lox sandwich. They also offer a variety of hot coffee, tea and iced coffee as well. This is our local go to for bagels, they are always fresh and so soft and light unlike the rock hard ones at Dunkin. Went in today for a quick bite so the cafe wasn't open and it was only a drive thru option, so I waited. It was definitely about 5-7 minute wait which isn't terrible unless your in a hurry of course. My bagel was Asiago bagel with avocado delight and veggie cream cheese. We'll looks like the avocado barely made it on there, disappointing since I'm a total avocado fan. The cream cheese is always the best and I should have skipped the hot house tomato's. I love coming here but it's really hit or miss unfortunately. Let me preface this with these bagels are perfect for making sandwiches with. They are soft and delicious. HOWEVER. The terrible attitudes and practices of the employees at this location will be it's ultimate demise. We have come here four weekends in a row for breakfast sandwiches just to see if they possibly were having staffing issues or some other mass catastrophe to explain what goes on here. Clearly no, it's just the attitudes of the employees that are ruining your business. Lets start with hours of operation. Website and Google say they're open until 2pm. Professional signage says open until 2pm. Hand written sign on the door every weekend says open until 1pm. This morning we were in line at 11am and saw an employee literally rewrite the sign to say closing at 12. It's not because they were understaffed. They weren't out of bagels. The employees just decide to close whenever they want, apparently. Next we'll move on to how some days no one wants to work the drive thru, so they post a hand written sign saying the drive thru is closed which causes a massive line inside that spills into the parking lot. The problem here is that cars pulling in don't know the drive thru is closed and the line extends into the drive thru lane. It's only a matter of time before someone gets hit by a car. Last weekend my husband went inside to order because "Drive Thru Closed!" and it was almost two hours before their chosen closing time of 1pm. An employee was bagging up bagels to sell as "Day Old" in view of a massive line and the employee working the register was telling customers in line that they were out of bagels that were literally just bagged up in front of them. How is any of this a sustainable business model?? The final straw this morning was when an employee wearing incredibly short shorts (the shorts were consumed by her backside) decided to SIT ON THE COUNTER with all of her business sitting directly onto the surface. She then proceeds to complain to anyone in earshot including a line of customers ten deep that she "doesn't understand how customers don't get that they are out of poppyseed." Maybe because people have eyes and there are at least a half dozen behind you, ma'am? This will be our last visit to E Coli R Us. read more

These days I can't seem to find a place that comes close to those. I do like French Toast bagels. Stew Leonard's usually makes a decent one. On a recent Sunday morning I decided to stop in and get some bagels at Bagelicious on my way home from grocery shopping in the same plaza. There was a large variety of flavors to choose from and the staff member I interacted with was very nice. When I got home I couldn't wait to eat the French toast bagel. When I sliced it in half I was rather surprised that the inside was very doughy (it was not raw). There was no cinnamon or any noticeable flavoring inside the bagel. It was was plain inside and literally was dusted outside (on the top only) with the cinnamon and sugar. Super disappointing. It was like eating a soft pretzel for lack of a better texture comparison. For those of you who love veggie cream cheese - this may be one of the best ones I've ever had! It is so light and fresh and absolutely wonderful! I just left the North Haven Bagelicious. The wait in line to order was 30 minutes (1 cashier) and another 15 minutes for one "Lox Sandwich". During my order the cashier asked if I wanted the bagel toasted, I replied that I did. I then asked to add onion to the sandwich and she replied that it already comes on the order and further asked if all of the listed condiments were ok with me to which I agreed. After a total of 45 minutes in Bagelicious and driving back to my destination, I found that the bagel WAS NOT toasted and there was NO onion. The cream cheese was spread EXTREMELY thin on the sandwich to the point where it did not cover most of it. If you decide to ignore this and go anyway, I'll advise you not to go far without first checking to make sure they got it right... read more

Excellent experience. Delicious sandwich. Exceptional service. I stopped in on a Friday, late morning, while in the area. Took a look at the menu; counter woman noticed that I'd not been in before; no pressure, took the time to ask what I like and said they'd make anything I wanted. Chicken cutlet was about as good as it gets. Croissant was fresh and crisp, just as it should be. The sandwich was huge; I had the other half for lunch the next day. Not happy with the service or the product. Asked for a cappuccino and he told me they do not have it. I told him that he had the machine there and pointed to it and he said they do not use. He told me to get a coffee which I did, and the coffee is lukewarm at best. I wanted a french toast bagel which was out, so I got a poppy seed bagel. It was small and the butter tasted nasty on it. If America runs in Dunkin, I would be happy if North Haven runs on Bagelicious. My 5 year old daughter said this morning, in between big bites of her blueberry bagel, "You know why they call it Bagelicious, because they make bagels that are DEEELICIOUS." We really enjoy Bagelicious. Their bagels are excellent and their breakfast sandwiches are really good. The other Bagelicious uses a scrambled egg for their breakfast sandwiches, which is ok but not my personal favorite. At the North Haven spot they make fried eggs and it makes a far superior sandwich. I go here with my kids on the weekend and they love it too. As long as you aren't in a crazy rush, service can be a little slow. Not terribly slow, just not the super fast paced response time of the donut shop conglomerates of New England, totally worth the short wait. With that said it's still one of the best places in town for a warm bagel or a sandwich. I will also say that they sell day old bagels a dozen at a time for $3.99 which seems like a heck of a deal to me. A toasted Bagelicious bagel that's a few days old is still better than most other bagels anywhere. I drop off a few to my grandma, and I still have bagels for breakfast all week. read more

I wish Yelp allowed for half stars because I would give a 3.5. I have visited this location on several occasions and unfortunately what they lack is consistency. On my last visit, my sandwich was absolutely delicious! It was layered and packed full of egg, bacon and avocado. The bagel was nicely toasted and fresh. On my visit today, I can't say the same. Not only was the price different today for the same sandwich, it was no where near as full as the last time and the bagel was barely toasted. I grew up in Cheshire & always loved Bagelicious. However, when the new owners took over and I went back to the Cheshire location, the bagels tasted different. I was a little hesitant to try Bagelicious II, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! The location is nice and there's a lot of seating. The one downfall is there's not enough parking in their lot. I tried just an jalapeno bagel with cream cheese, but I want to try some of their avocado breakfast sandwiches next time. The bagels from bagelicious are good but their breakfast sandwiches are just not it for me. I live close by and still when I would get home and unwrap my sandwich it was always soggy. Their deli meat is super thin and their egg cooked a little too runny for me. Their asiago bagel is good tho! Also once i waited 38 minutes in line midday on a weekday!
