It absolutely blows my mind every time I come here. I just leave the DT line about 70% of the time I come here. What an absolute dumpster fire this place is. It's not even the fault of the kids working. They're probably just understaffed. The other location is a disaster, too. Again, good bagels, but holy Christ, what an ordeal. And if you make it to the window there's a significant chance they screw up your order. Update - they sold the type of bagels I ordered while I was in line. My husband and I tried Bagelicious II on a whim this weekend and loved it so much; we came back the next morning for breakfast. Our first time there, we went the drive-through route which was surprisingly quick for the line we spotted inside as we drove in. My husband got a poppy seed bagel with cream cheese (toasted) and I got a plain bagel with egg, cheese and turkey. The bagels were ready super quick and for a sandwich, his bagel and two juices, we only spent $14. The bagels are the most perfect bagels I have eaten in a long, long time. They are crispy on the outside without being too hard and inside, they are soft and bouncy without being that dense and chewy consistency of a Dunkin bagel. This morning, my husband got a turkey and cheese on a bagel and I got a french toast bagel with cream cheese. Wait times are ridiculous to begin. I ordered a turkey bacon wrap for 7.99 on white wrap. When I got to the window , I waited 5 minutes before the guy with the beard opened the window. He asked me if I wanted a side . I'm like I'm all set , but does it come with one ?? He's like yea so why didn't you ask me when I ordered. He charged me more for what my wrap cost. Prices don't reflect the menu! Then when I went to eat my wrap it was gross. It was all put together sloppy. When I went to eat it , fell out of my wrap completely. The only saving grace from this review being 1 star is the iced coffee tastes pretty darn good. Besides that, Bagelicious II is in serious need of improvement. First of all, WHAT IS THAT SMELL? I'm a bagel lover and I was beyond excited when they opened up shop. At first, I thought they didn't have it together because it was new, but they still don't have it together and that combined with mediocre bagels was enough for me to call it quits and I hadn't been in months. However, today my boyfriend asked me to grab him a bagel on the way home from the gym and being the amazing girlfriend that I am, I obliged. Or at least tried to. After more than a year of their drive-thru remaining unopened, they recently got it together (not really) enough to try to manage that along with their inside business. As the sign on the drive-thru speaker says to do, I repeated "hello" multiple times with no response. I drove to the window thinking I would just order there since no one answered, but after sitting by the window for a bit, I gave up and decided to go inside. The smell walking in the place was putrid. A mixture of eggs (maybe) and who knows what. It's gross and I just couldn't stand there and wait through the painfully slow service. As I got in my car, after being in there for less than 30 seconds, my hair and jacket had absorbed the smell. I had really hoped they would succeed, but if they're not going to make a sincere effort to improve their systems, they don't deserve it. read more

Went to the drive through at 11:30 AM during the weekday. Waited for 2 or 3 minutes for someone to take my order from the speaker box near where the outdoor to go menu is located. No one came on, so I drive up to the drive thru pick up window and was told. The drive thru isn't open during the week!! Only on weekends!! WHAT?? I asked a couple of employees why they didn't have signs posting that the drive thru wasn't operational during the week in the drive thru area?? These aren't bagels. This is round bread. They have none of the chewy texture of real bagels. Asked for everything bagel with butter. Got the butter barely waved over the bagel. Just about done going to this place. Time after time they mess up your order and barely acknowledge it, never mind apologize for it. The staff really seems incompetent. Also found out that they stopped carrying almond milk which really sucks. Who doesn't carry almond milk these days?! ---------------- I'm not going to take away any stars for this, but I just had an awful experience today. We ordered 3 bagels toasted with spreads. No eggs, no sausage, nothing that would take a lot of time. After 10+ minutes I started to get worried they forgot about us. Especially because many people who ordered after us had gotten their food. We asked one of the girls working there and she said she would check for us. I saw her go in the back and ask if anyone had made our order. She never came back to let us know what was going on so I asked the guy (tall red head with beard) who had originally taken our order if he forgot to put it in. He said no I put it in. Didn't even bother to double check for us that he did or anything. The girl heard him and said to him that he did forget to put the order in the back for the kitchen. The kitchen then continued to make other orders before ours, even though they were informed we had never gotten our order. So we had to wait for them to finish a bunch of other peoples orders who had gotten here way after us for ours. When we finally got our order, you could tell they had half ass made it. None of the bagels were really toasted and the bagels barl had any cream cheese on them. Oh well. One bad time won't ruin my whole view of the place, but I definitely won't be going again on the weekend when this crew is working. The girl who is normally there during the week is great! UPDATE: I gotta say this place really does have good bagels. The service has improved greatly with time. I can't help but stop in at least once a week for a bagel, they really are that good. I juwish they had better coffee, but the bagels make up for it and I pass a dunkin on my way home anyway __________________________ I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt because I know they're still new, but it's so chaotic behind that counter. They don't seem all that interested in doing high-volume business or having a sense of urgency. I frequently witnessed customers getting out of line and leaving because the waits are too long. Also they are set up for drive-through service but do not seem to want to offer that service. I really wanted to Love the new bagel place that opened in what I would call an almost perfect location, however I don't. I've said for years that what North Haven was lacking was a good bagel shop, and when Brueggers closed in nearby Hamden (which also had a drivethru) the opportunity for success multiplied. However...this place doesn't sell what I would call bagels, they sell flavored bread rolls. The bagels are not typical of a Brueggers in any way, harder outside with a density and softer inside, they are large not chewy not a bagel just really a flavored hard roll. The cream cheese is ok, the toasting is ok, nothing spectacular, and I even tried the touted French Toast and Cheddar Cheese varieties. The service is fine but abysmally slow on getting orders out of the kitchen. The parking lot is tiny, and the drive thru is not open and with the slowness of the kitchen on toasting it may never work as a drive thru anyways. I love to support independent businesses but unfortunately the flavor of this one is not to my liking, they aren't even on par with Lenders bagels to be honest. read more

I will say the texture of the bagel is different than others I've had before, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. They are soft and bready which ends up being delicious. Wow. They can't even get an order together. Customer service sucks. After waiting over ten minutes for what obviously amounted to a tough order, you know, a bagel with cream cheese, I was told "oops. We must have lost your order." When I asked why so slow she replied curtly "Well we have a lot of phone orders" this after I observed the slow motion procession of their staff desperately trying to put together sandwiches: "mayo goes where? Do I use the sharp end of this blade to cut? Is THAT lox?" Here's an idea: your customers who actually get out of their cars and walk up to your counter, where one of 6 might take your order, well perhaps they deserve some special service. While It certainly is a pleasure to watch the disassembly line, I'd much rather actually eat that bagel. But hey -- what do I know? Just a local customer. I was looking for a good bagel around the area; a real bagel. I don't consider brueggers or Dunkin' Donuts real. They serve a great variety of flavors. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and they use real eggs , not the microwaved eggs that a lot of places seem to use. The parking lot is small which is really the only downfall. Do they take a long time? , I don't think it's excessive. To make eggs, grill sausage, bacon or ham isn't bad. If you complain how long it takes, seems like you're high maintenance. Every time I go it's hit or miss. I have had too many misses now. Ordered 3 sandwiches one sandwich was missing half the bacon. I received the wrong bagel flavor and it took 30 minutes. Don't ask for toasted because what you will get is a soggy cold bagel. Sandwich's were cold no management watched employees walk around complaining and not working. The bagels are in fact decent here. Pretty good I must admit. I've been getting dozens per week for my non profit company almost every week for almost a year. However this place has the absolute worst philosophy when it comes to customers. The drive through always takes incredibly long. So it says on the store window "call ahead" with the phone number of the business, a 535 number. Over the past few months I've been calling because I don't have time to sit in a drive through for 20 mins every morning even if there's on car in it. THIS PLACE NEVER ANSWERS THE PHONE.... EVER. Realistically maybe 1 out of 30 phone calls gets answered. Today I trued calling 4 separate times over the course of 30 minutes! I don't have time to literally stand by my phone and hit redial every time they don't pick up. So I called once about every 7 mins for 35 minutes while I was getting ready for work. The 4th call is answered by an employee to tell me "sorry it's 2:02pm and we close at 2" even though the website and yelp says 3pm so I can't help you.... I tell her I've been calling multiple times for 35 minutes and that I'll show her my call history, Because at the time I had left to drive their while placing the 4th call when I was basically pulling into the drive through. She then asks the owner if they can accept my order of only 2 bagels because I've been calling for 30 mins..... I'm now at the drive through while on the phone with them. She says no. The owner and the employee refuse to make ME TWO bagels after I took 30 mins of time calling them, then 13 minutes of a drive to get there and be turned down for two egg and cheeses. There's way too many other places with decent bagels for people to have to take the time to struggle to spend their money on this place that obtains the most pathetic excuse for customer service. I've been a loyal customer for a year now, since I've moved to north haven and probably wasted a total of a months time in the last year waiting in their drive through if you add up 20 minutes per day for the past year. I almost would've thrown this place a bone and given them two stars because the bagels are good however, it's not difficult to make a good bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. I seriously wish I could give it no stars. Please don't give your money to a business whom treats people as if they're so insignificant. It's honestly extremely offensive to American customers to continue supporting a place that enables such profound mistreatment of regular customers. I'm honestly flabbergasted to how I've been this patient and loyal to them for a year now. Great bagels, fresh cream cheese and friendly staff.... My only complaint is the service is bad, wait times are too long for bagels, coffee and sandwiches. If they can sort out their service issues then my review will easily go up to 5 stars. Like some other reviewers said, you can expect to sit at the ordering speaker for 5-7 minutes easy before you get assistance, then you can expect another 7-10 minutes of waiting if there is only a car or two already in front of you. I would not recommend stopping if there are 6-10 cars in line unless you have at least 30 minutes of free time to spare. My review is based on several different visits of going here over the last 4 years. I am not basing my review on 1 or 2 visits all together. It's fair to say the service has never been good. read more
