The intimate atmosphere, the awesome staff, the colorful decor and you get the sense that this place is loved by the people who own it. There's a feeling of pride in here. THE FOOD is extra-ordinary. Their coffee rolls are AMAZING and they don't taste like chemicals a-la Dunkin'. The apple-fritter is INSANE! Their sandwiches are awesome- every one I've ever gotten is fresh and tasty. The coffee is fantastic- lots of flavors though, for me personally I like straight-up regular but my kid experiments with the other flavors and he loves them. Anyone who knows me knows that I love donuts. This place has been on my list for a while now and I was headed to Hammonasset Beach and thought I would stop in before hand. It's a cute little space with great donuts and bagels. They had a cherry flavored doughnut, which was really good and I have not seen before. The apple fritter was huge and my son loved it. The toasted everything bagel with butter hit the spot. I loved the chocolate glazed donut also. One of my favorite things about this place was they had an in and exit door. I usually just come here for the packaged gluten free donuts. This time I decided to try one of their breakfast items and got a bacon, egg, and cheese on gluten free bread. As soon as I opened my food I noticed a bunch of little white hairs all over my sandwich as if it were dropped on the ground and put back together or something. There was hair covering all of my sandwich from everything in it to the bread. Disgusted and highly disappointed. Very unsanitary especially for a bacon egg and cheese that costs $10. read more

This was my first visit to Branford beach donut. I immediately took pictures to capture the quaint and quiet atmosphere as we were the only two for a short time in the shop. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich. He added bacon and sausage. You get a free donut with purchase of a breakfast sandwich. My husband chose the highly popular sugar glazed jelly donut. I got the cinnamon sugar jelly donut and a vanilla frosted with sorinkles. Beach donut has vegan and gluten free donut options! The pictures don't do the location justice! There are so many delicious items. It's a very cute and open location. I loved the hot sauce choices by the windows. The ketchup and Mayo packets in a skull holder made me laugh! The donut signs added a great level of comfort to the site. My husband and I really wanted to get the fritter for the size alone! We texted a friend we found poppyseed horns as she has been looking for them. The muffins, brownies, and coffee cake also looked amazing. The service was quick and organized. I ran in there real quick this morning. Now I'm used to going to the one out in like the Westbrook area. I am so glad they opened this one here in Branford. Not as big and not a selection in donuts as they do out there. However, the most friendliest people and besides donuts there's bagels, muffins, croissants, scones, etc. They also make breakfast, tacos and a few other things. I literally went in there at like 8:45 a.m. They open at 6:00 a.m. there was a couple in front of me who were quick. The two girls who helped me were phenomenal BC I needed to get some donuts to drop off. Believe it or not at Walgreens through the drive-thru and so the big box wouldn't fit. I was able to get the dozen and the two smaller boxes. Their chocolate croissants are delicious. They have cheddar everything bagels which are delish. They have a jalapeno bagel but not with cheese. There's a place I used to go to that has a chadder jalapeno bagel that I love however, I haven't been out to Shelton in months. Everything is fresh. Some of the stuff was even still warm. You will not be disappointed at all whatsoever. They take all cash, credit card, debit card. And you'd be surprised. I've been in there even around lunch time and they have the bagels left over and croissant so it's not like they sell out. They get more in or they make more. I don't know if they import some of that from the store further out east. And such interesting flavors too. Today there was a vanilla frosted donut with like chopped up Oreos on it. That looks so good. I had to get one of those. They also had a donut with Eva vanilla or strawberry frosting on it and fruity pebbles so I got one of those. They already even have or maybe it's a year-round thing. The apple cider donut and a maple frosted donut. I didn't buy either of those today but such a big selection for any type of sweet tooth person. They also have you know your plain, plaie stick. My favorite is French crawler but they don't have that. And they don't sell munchkins in case anyone's wondering that I guess you have to go to the big chain for. read more

OMG these are the best donuts that I ever ate. The non filled donuts are more like a cake with a crunchy outside. They have a variety of these donuts and all of them have a flavor that matches the donut. My favorite was the cinnamon. The filled donuts were soft and well filled. They were very good, but I liked the uniqueness's of the non filled donuts. Once you have their donuts, you will not go back to the chain store donuts . Stopped here for the first time on a Saturday morning and were very pleasantly surprised with the selections offered- not only a wide variety of delicious homemade donuts but a lot of breakfast options as well like sandwiches, tostadas, pasties, bagels. I really enjoyed the pumpkin donut, chocolate glazed donut holes, and vanilla frosted donuts. The apple cider donut was a little on the dry side. I got the breakfast tostada and it was HUGE and very good. My husband got a sandwich that had turkey, eggs, and avocado- also huge. We will definitely be back to try more menu items. This is a really great spot. The donuts and muffins are fantastic. The family run shop is friendly and inviting. I hope to continue to stop in for baked treats. My only recommendation, you give a free donut with a breakfast sandwich, but when I buy a dozen donuts for $24 you get the 12. Why not do a baker's dozen at thirteen. At least then I feel like I am getting the same deal as everyone else. I am still going to stop in for donuts to support this local shop. read more

Stopped by today for the first time and was truly impressed! They used coffee infused ice cubes in my ice coffee which is super rare and I very much appreciated. The donuts were also incredible- super fresh tasting. The lemon donut was one of the best donuts I've ever tried- not overpowering and not artificial tasting. The service was also great. Though prices are just *slightly* too high, I'd say it's still good deal considering what you get.
