The most stand out thing about Bagels Forever is the DRAMATICALLY lower than average prices. Breakfast sandwiches with egg and meat are under 4 dollars. Bundles of 2 dozen bakes and cream cheese come out to under a buck a bagel. The bagels themselves have appropriate chewy texture and shine on the crust. They are modestly sized. While visiting from out of town, we stopped by Bagels Forever, and wow--what an incredible find! These bagels were absolutely perfect, with a beautifully crisp crust and a wonderfully chewy inside. At just $0.75 each, they're an unbelievable deal for such high-quality, freshly made bagels. The breakfast sandwich was fresh, filling, and delicious, but the real star was the bagel sandwich--so good that my daughter literally said, "I think I'm gonna cry!" That pretty much sums it up! We love coming here to pick up bagels for an event or grab a cheap, yet filling breakfast or lunch. If you can find a tome that they're not busy, you're doing good, otherwise you may have to wait awhile. This is also pretty dependent on who's running the machines or making sandwiches though. When you arrive, you grab a number and then a clipboard to fill out your order. When it's your turn, the cashier will ring it up and get your bagels. You can't go wrong with any of the bagels, or really sandwiches for that matter. The most unique, and best in our opinion though, is their new everything bagel. All the goodness of an everything, without the mess. The only issue why this isn't a five star for us anymore is the hit-or-miss service. Mainly the last 3 times we've been there part of our order was wrong. This most recent we ended up with a regular everything bagel, instead of the new everything bagel that we asked for and there wasn't any sauce on our sandwiches. The two prior times we were also missing ingredients on our sandwiches. Not sure if this is on the inputting in the system or the person making the sandwiches, but just something we've noticed. read more

Bagels Forever has always been one of my favorite spots in Madison. The quality and prices are unmatched. The bagels are so fresh and delicious! They also freeze really well. Their cream cheese is my absolute favorite. I love their plain whipped cream cheese and their strawberry cream cheese is the best I've ever had. I usually order either a breakfast or lunch bagel sandwich or a toasted plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. And a bonus if you get a sandwich it comes with a really good pickle on the side. They have a parking lot making it easy to park. When you arrive if the line is long you can grab a number and that's how they flow through the line. Then just wait 3-7 minutes depending on how busy they are and pick up and enjoy your bagel. The lox bagel is probably my favorite that I've gotten here. This place is not fancy, but that's the best part about it! Bagels are 65 cents each. Yes, you read that correctly! They are not huge NY bagels, they are on the small side. To me, a perfect size for a breakfast sandwich! The employees didn't seem too happy to be there, but the service was efficient for just 2 people. There are lots of flavor options for bagels, a few cream cheese options, and lots of decisions to make for a bagel sandwich. You can also buy bottled drinks or basic coffee. Bagels Forever has been my spot forever. I lived in Madison from 2010-2015 and Bagel's Forever was one of my go to spots. As a student it isn't to far from campus, and it is affordable. I would get a breakfast bagel and a lunch bagel that would keep me full all day for under $10. Their bagels are fresh and so is all of their other ingredients. The service is pleasant and speedy, and the ambiance reminds me of a NY bagel shop. My favorite is breakfast sandwich of sausage, two egg, Gouda cheese, tomato, red onion, green pepper, and mayo on a jalepeno bagel. I also like the blt lunch sandwich with turkey on a sun dried tomato bagel. Lastly, I highly recommend their Chicago dog dragged through the garden for a humbling $3.50!!! It is just a no frills, traditional counter style, affordable bagel shop that is straight to the point. The prices at Bagels Forever are like none I've ever seen before - SO cheap!! Especially compared with the prices at the Einstein's bagels down the street, the price you pay at Bagels Forever feels like a total steal. Besides the fact that they price things correctly, the quality is high and the taste is on point. There's a reason this place hasn't changed since it's opened - it's just good. Cheap, affordable bagels made on-site here in madison! I love to get the tomato basil/everything bagels but honestly, egg/onion/ maple cinnamon it's all good. I recommend freezing the bakers dozen at home and toasting when needed. Today was my first time ordering a bagel sandwich and damn! So good. Highly recommend. Also affordable - at the other (i won't say which but there's only one) bagel establishment in madison a lox sandwich costs upwards of 8 dollars. Here it was 3 bucks and a normal portion size for one person. A little out of the way from campus but the perfect place to get your bagel fix! read more

The bagels are always delicious, the service is efficient and great. You can't beat a bagel breakfast sandwich under $4 that is always great quality. I love their salt bagel. It's not too salty like some other bagel places, it's just a sprinkle of salt on the bottom. Their everything bagel is so good and you can tell by how fast they sell out of it! I always try to go early before they run out of their everything bagels. My boyfriend and I even some times get an extra sandwich for the next morning and re-heat it in tin foil in our air fryer or toaster oven and it reheats perfectly. I highly recommend. read more

Found this little spot in the downtown area of Madison. The bagels are a little on the small side but reasonable priced. The bagels are pretty good. Several options to choose from. Also if you buy bulk bagels a freezer bag is added for retaining freshness. The downfall is that I have been hear twice and both times the orders were not properly executed. First time asked for veggie cream cheese on a bagel and it was just plain cream cheese when I got to eat it. Also the order of bulk bagels was not as per requested. Second time asked for a bagel the employee toasted it. I asked if this was toasted they said yes. I said I didn't request for it to be toasted and I got a snotty remark in return and then another bagel made to my liking. All in all the bagels are good. read more
