Quality food and fantastic customer service, very clean and kind. BUT I wouldn't really call my sandwich a bahn mi. I got the cold cuts sandwich expecting Vietnamese cold cuts, but received bland turkey. The carrots and daikon didn't taste vinegary or pickled at all and there wasn't enough of it. The bread was absolutely delicious, but not a baguette. If you want a quick delicious sandwich from a fantastic establishment go here. If you're expecting an authentic bahn mi, maybe go somewhere else. read more

The owners are incredibly nice, and do what they do for the love of doing it. It's a rare to see these days. I go Lemongrass Beef here every time or my taste buds erupt in protest. The baguette is baked fresh daily and jammed full with tender, flavorful marinated beef, shredded carrots and cilantro. Throw in a BBQ Pork Bao for good measure when the appetite summons. This is a great restaurant. It's no the best food I've ever had in my life, but I also have nothing to complain about whatsoever. I've been there twice, once with a friend and another time with my boyfriend and mom. I've tried the curry sandwich, BBQ pork sandwich, and the lemon grass beef sandwich. Every single one of them was great! They were quick in making our food, and all the staff is super friendly. They have a bathroom to use, and a pleasant atmosphere. We love Vietnamese Baguette and we are frequent patrons, in fact, we were there for lunch today. Being vegan, we always order the #10 Soya with no mayo, and fresh jalapenos. They have three vegan options but the #10 is our favorite, and their bread is always warm and fresh. We also order their salad rolls to-go for our lunches the next day. We are always greeted with a friendly smile, we feel welcome, and happily chat with the owners. Very good food at a very reasonable price, highly recommended. read more

"More Thai Ice Tea Please" It was a beautiful day in Corvallis so my boyfriend and I decided to walk downtown and get some lunch. We have seen this place multiple times by have never tried it so yesterday we thought it would be the perfect day to try it! I got the curry lemongrass tofu sandwich and my boyfriend got the daring which was two different type of hams. Both sandwiches came with a delicious pickled carrots, cucumber and cilantro! It was the perfect paring with the spicy lemongrass curry sauce! There was also this little secret white sauce that made it delicious. We also got the shrimp salad rolls, I wish they had some mint or cilantro inside of it. I also got a Thai milk tea which was pretty good but I just wish it had some more ice. I started coming here almost ten years ago when it was still over by the Beanery. I moved to Portland, but still can't pass up the Wheaties sandwich (made with seitan, or vital wheat gluten) if I'm driving by on I-5. I recently got all my friends (vegetarian AND meat eating) addicted to these, there is nothing quite like it in Portland. My partner and I agree that this is hands-down our absolute favorite take-out. You can also dine in, but the sandwiches hold very well on the two hour drive back home!! Also, Baguette has my favorite Thai iced tea! Edit: Everyone who mentions this food isn't authentic: the owners are Vietnamese. She makes this food the same way for her family, and just because it doesn't match the version of Banh Mi you know, that doesn't make it inauthentic. Different regions have different versions or styles of a dish. Maybe you're just used to a different style. Anyways, this is authentic and so very delicious! read more

I got a really good six dollar sandwich. The bread was warm and toasty, the veggies were fresh and crispy, and the service was actually that - service. The only negative, and this is personal preference only, is that the lemongrass beef was sweet sweet sweet, as in way too much sugar. Too bad most Asian food in the US caters to our overly sweet palette. This is one of my favorite sandwich places on earth....luckily only about a mile walk from home. I keep saying to myself I need to try their whole menu, but I regularly go back to the "Baguette" sandwich. Made on fresh-baked bread, it features Vietnamese hams, and a variety of chopped vegetables; jalapenos optional (get 'em!) Whatever sauce they use is very tasty and complementary (wipe the bread in any sauce that leaks out.) In addition to their variety of sandwiches, they also have pork or chicken buns, and pate chaud (oh yummy!) The owners are very pleasant, and if you can't veer away from your favorite, they'll know your order as soon as you walk in the door. It's a lesson I often forget, but, as I bit into my sandwich and it just tasted...off...like...weird meat, weird spread, no pickle on the veggies. Even the wheat bun tasted off. Stopped by here on my drive out to the coast and picked up 2 bahn mi to go - one was the lemongrass beef and the other was a chicken bahn mi. Considering the amount of hours I had to drive without refrigeration before I got around to eating them, the food held up pretty well and like many other reviews have mentioned, the beef was very tender and tasty. The chicken was good as well, though didn't have as much flavor. I couldn't quite place the kind of mayo / sauce they used in the sandwich - it was a little too mayo-y for me - I missed having garlic in there and jalapenos. No jalapenos were served with the sandwich though it's possible that you may have to ask for them vs ask to exclude them here. Overall, service was very friendly and a great interaction as well. You could tell that they took pride in the food they served and that they had many loyal patrons who visit them. Many of us were lined up outside before they opened up at lunch hour! read more
