Went back here when we were in the area. Place is right outside Christiana Mall. Parking is a bit limited but not too bad. Food was decent. My husband complained that his dish was too salty. I thought mine was okay. I got the pineapple fried rice, so a bit on the sweet side with the pineapple. Well we were seated quickly. The bartender was our waitress. First: the drink menu is just bunch of sugary concoctions with no alcohol in them. Literally no alcohol at all. I understand this place is a tropical theme, but the drinks are basically for 18 to 25 yr Olds. No scotch, Old Fashioned, etc. But the beef empanada was quite tasty. The salmon meal I had wasn't bad either. So the food wasn't bad, the drinks were the worst. More juice than alcohol. read more

Our first time visiting Bahama Breeze was on vacation and we decided to try the Orlando location. We loved the restaurant design, the great menu choices, and that it was family friendly. Location was busy, but we did not have to wait long and the servers were friendly. The food was good and we were really excited when they opened the Delaware location. The local restaurant did not disappoint, still serving good food and great happy hour options. This location was not decorated or set up Truthfully, we liked the Orlando restaurant better... building and interior design. We didn't think the Delaware building location was the best choice, because while the mall is a great location and a good way to entice shoppers currently at the mall, it is sometimes difficult and frustrating with shopper traffic if you are just planning on going out for lunch or dinner. I've been here a few times but this time it didn't feel quite right. It felt outdated in a way, possibly the dim lighting and dark tones. There wasn't any live music as there was other times which I didn't expect due to the time/day. The music really does change the mood! The food was okay. It's what to be expected from a chain restaurant. We were just happy to have a meal with our baby after a day of shopping. We overheard the staff talking about being short staffed that likely added to the experience. We'd probably still return since we've had more positive experiences in the past. I usually have lower expectations for chain restaurants but this place has good food, reasonable prices, and I haven't had to wait to be seated yet. About a week ago, I came here with my family for my birthday. The food, drinks, and atmosphere at Bahama Breeze is what always brings us back, but the reason why we don't come back as often is usually due to the service. The service here isn't terrible, but kind of... strange. I know I talked about some of the previous instances in my last review, but this time, our service from our server was weird. I will give him some benefit of the doubt: I am almost certain he just started. You could tell he was nervous, but one of the weird things he did was recommend us the "customer favorite" drinks AFTER we ordered what we really wanted. Maybe they get some sort of bonus if they sell certain drinks? Idk.. Another thing he would do is sometimes just have really random, and very awkward small talk conversations with us. I mean, I get being nice and all, but the long pauses when he would try to talk to us just made us feel very uncomfortable. Not to mention there were times he would just watch us at our table, and it wasn't even a slow day. There were a good amount of people there and he had other tables. Now this last thing he did is the main reason I'm not giving my last dining experience a 5 star rating. After we were done eating, my mom and I had to go to the bathroom. We decide to go, leaving my dad at the table and I still had my drink that I was gonna finish when I got back from the bathroom. When I get back, I see our server BUSSING the table. Mind you, my dad is still at the table so it's not like we had already left. He literally tried to take my drink (that was mostly full btw) and we didn't even ask for the check yet!! After that happened, the staring and waiting by our table increased. We felt rushed and as if he wanted us to leave. I do remember his name, but I won't put it on the review because I do truly think these were rookie mistakes. Hopefully, he will get better with time. read more

Love coming here the service here is always welcoming and friendly. Family friendly ambience, casual. Definitely gives you a taste of the islands. The jerk shrimp was mad well and so are the classic jerk wings. The drinks here are pretty sweet. The dragon fruit margarita was way too sweet for my liking very pretty but way too much sugar in that drink. The second drink I had was way better more rum less sweetness so it did the trick. I met my son's family for dinner here last week, as it's about halfway between us. My granddaughter really liked her macaroni, which came in a large bowl for a little one. My daughter-in-law and I shared a couple things. The tuna tostada stack was delicious, although slightly messy to eat. The coconut shrimp was good, nicely crispy. The accompanying steak had to be sent back as we requested medium rare and received well done, which neither of us like. The replacement came fairly quickly. The grilled salmon was good, nicely cooked. Both of us substituted a salad for one of the sides, and ate the next day, when it was still quite fresh. I felt like they were trying to push us out the door, because as soon as someone was finished with their plate they cleared that, but also the person's drink. I didn't really notice the decorations, and don't remember what my son ate. read more

However, it closed awhile ago and this was my first and assuredly last at this location in Newark, DE. Our server was extremely sweet and had a bubbly personality and helped us choose our meals. But; the food wasn't that great nor were our drinks. It was a pleasant atmosphere with plenty of parking. But, the menu wasn't very appealing and I opted for a burger. Hubs had the honey chicken sandwich special which was fried way too hard and the conch fritters were also undercooked. We traveled a great distance to be disappointed. I have always liked Bahama Breeeze. They have the cuisine I love and drinks that taste good-n-strong. The conch fritters were great, a little bready, though. The crab dip is always a must-have. After returning to Delaware to collect my winnings from my super bowl bets, my family and I decided to stop at the Christiana Mall and stumbled upon Bahama Breeze. The only one in Maryland closed years ago, so locating one just a little over an hour away was a pleasant surprise. It has been over two years since I last visited the restaurant, needs to say I was super pressed to enjoy their tasty cuisine. This location observed all Covid protocols, distance seating, masks until at your table and constantly cleanings by the staff. They even had those tabletop kiosk, where you can order and pay your check. I felt confident that my family was safe eating here. The food, with is Americanized Caribbean, was just as good as I remembered it. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The prices are also very affordable for the portions. The seafood paella was great! It was flavorful, and I appreciate the amount of chorizo, scallops, and shrimp it had. I've also had their fried plantains before & they're delicious-- they do them right. However, the jerk wings were dry. They were served with a sauce, though, so that helped it out a bit. I also tried some of their baby back ribs which were also somewhat dry. The dragonfruit margarita just tasted like a limeade. I'm not sure what else they put into it but calling it a dragonfruit margarita is a bit of an overstatement. I always enjoy this location. I'm mostly there for the happy hour. The location is great and the service here has been awesome. I went recently and my experience was nothing short of great. I'm a loner so I'm often dining alone. The waiter that I had (Akeem, I think) was very attentive but not over bearing. He mad sure I had everything I needed and kept me updated on everything I ordered. I always enjoy the Jamaican Jerk Chicken (That i never finish lol) and I can forget my Bahamarita. Bahama Breeze never disappoints me!! Especially at this location, the service is always so great. We started off with the Firecracker Shrimp and Empanadas, which I mistakenly did not get pictures of. They came so fast and both appetizers were fresh, so immediately got into them!! For my entree I ordered the Jerk Chicken Pasta that you can absolutely never go wrong with. The flavor!!! Incredible. I love mine with goat cheese on the side, but that's just because asparagus and goat cheese go great together in my opinion I finished off the meal with a Javatini. A unique thing about the Javatini is that it's not like your regular martini. It has rum instead of vodka, which made the flavor in it go crazy. It's also frozen! 10/10 experience. I remember there was a location back home in Towson, MD but it was closed down. All that time it was in Towson, I never got the chance to try it. One time the family and I were in Florida and found Bahama Breeze there. I loved it! The kids loved it and of course so did the wife, she'd frequent the Towson location many times prior to our union. So when we visited Delaware Park we found there was a Bahama Breeze only 5 minutes away. We made it a family outing and took the little trip up to Delaware just for Bahama Breeze! The location is perfect, on the parking lot of a mall. This makes it very easy to frequent and smell the wonderful aroma of Caribbean style food being prepared. They are also making sure social distancing is recognized and masks are worn. I had the seafood paella and was not disappointed! I am not a big rice person, but they made sure there was plenty of chicken, scallops, mussels and chorizo so you don't feel like you're getting a big bowl of rice. Could've been a little spicy but that's just my preference, the menu does not mention spice at all. Everyone enjoyed their food, my sons ate all of there food and that's usually a hard task. We can not wait to go back to try more items on the menu and hoping they bring a location back to Baltimore. read more

Food is good. Just good. Service was fantastic from our individual waitress (so I gave 2 stars instead of 1) after such an otherwise shameful & uncomfortable experience. We had a party of 5. While our waitress was phenomenal, apparently there's an unfortunate political atmosphere at this establishment perpetuated by other staff. A guest at our table wore a hat representing a political party - no other political indicators, names, discourse or conversations were present throughout our meal. Despite not being our table's server, a waitress inserted herself into our party to condescendingly compliment this guest's hat with heavy sarcasm before retreating to a corner where more waitstaff laughed & ridiculed along with her. This not only imposed a negative mood on what was otherwise a highly enjoyable & peaceful brunch, but caused us to feel paranoid & self conscious. The rest of us at the table were NOT expressing/representing anything political nor in alignment with that particular guest's views; however, we ALL deserve eat in peace & be treated with respect from waitstaff as a principle. Working customer service jobs that face the public involves potentially encountering merchandise, clothing or other expressions that represent ideas & opinions other than your own. Their waitstaff should not only be aware of this, but act accordingly while at work & towards guests. They obviously felt free to behave this way openly. Specifically within today's hostile political landscape, I do not expect to encounter protest based ridicule from service personnel in a purportedly peaceful corporate environment. I especially won't abide by a certain dress code in order to ensure we receive polite or proper service when paying to dine out. If you're looking for a place to get seafood in the area, then this is the spot. Although the menu is extensive, I was only interested in small bites and appetizers. I settled on a sampler with included chicken wings and coconut shrimp. I chose the Island Hopper Combo. It included Jamaican jerk wings, Conch fritters, Coconut shrimp and Onion rings. I didn't want the conch fritters but they didn't allow substitutions. How unfortunate! I really don't patronize restuarants a second time once I find out they don't do substitutions. What is someone is allerg]ic to a certain food? Oh well.. My food was okay. The chicken wings were huge. My shrimp were typical, nothing special. I think they were fried too hard. I tasted one of the conch fritters. It was just okay. I really don't like conch. My onion rings were fried too hard as well but had good flavor. I liked that the combo came with 3 different sauces. From the outside looking in, it look like it was a great spot to eat. I don't get why it was called frozen Bahama breeze though. They didn't have a couple things like black any black bean produce and the jerk chicken I guess was what it was mostly about, it was fine so we ordered something different. I had to lemonade strawberry lemonade which is very sweet was pretty good though.That jerk chicken sandwich is decent just not enough chicken. Also have a firecracker shrimp they were weird it wasn't very much and I put like some shredded chips in the bottom to make it look like more than what it was. I don't think I'd ever go back here if someone referred on a night out to go here I would have to say no. I don't know what happened to customer service but, the front door people were just chilling on there phone. We were all spaced out and stuff so I guess that was good they were enforcing Covid. I used to enjoy Bahama Breeze in Towson, MD before it closed. After a shopping trip at Christiana, the kiddo and I decided to eat here. There was no wait to be seated on a Saturday, which was nice. For appetizers we got the yucca cheese sticks and empanadas. The yucca cheese sticks were on point; however, while the empanadas tasted great, the filling was the completely wrong consistency. It was almost soupy in consistency, which was odd and caused the filling to drip out with each bite. For dinner I got the grilled chicken with cilantro crema, and my daughter for the jerk chicken pasta. My chicken had an off putting, rubbery texture. It was reminiscent of a frozen chicken breast. Flavor was good, but I couldn't get past the texture. The mashed potato concoction underneath the chicken was delicious. My daughter's pasta sauce was thin and the dish lacked flavor. Our server was nice and the food came out quickly, but overall we were both underwhelmed with our visit. read more
