Well, my fellow yelpers I've been away for a while but I'm back and this time we went to Keem's. I had a 60th birthday party for my wife on Saturday and was very impressed when we walked into the restaurant. It was set up nice and it was clean. The young lady that served us i don't know if her name was Micah, but she was very helpful in taking our orders and serving us. My wife had a great time! And now the rub...... Question how can you charge $50.00 cake fee for a cake I brought in myself? The young man told my son 2hrs in that there was a fee, and the lady didn't tell me when I walked in, if i was told that I would have left the cake on the table or didn't bring it at all. Dropped in for brunch with the girls on a Saturday afternoon! I believer our server name was Erika (I pray I spelled it right). She was so nice and make some great recommendations. Everything we ordered is pictured below and it was all delicious. Especially the Ribeye, that steak got a round of applause from everyone at the table. I would love to come back to try other dishes outside of the breakfast menu. The aesthetics were very nice, I loved the color choices and all of the lighting fixtures. Beautiful restaurant! Went on a Sunday during the brunch. Service was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. They had a DJ who played all types of music.Loved that we could still converse because the music wasn't too loud. The food was delicious. Visited twice in the past 2 weeks. Food and service was great! Da'kota was our waitress on a Friday night. The place was quite busy. She did not miss a beat. Our food was timely and hot. We visited here on a Saturday for brunch, ambiance I would give a 4 food I would give a 3.5. Ambiance of the restaurant was nice, chic and comfortable is how I would describe it. They have a selfie wall, cute. The young man that greeted us could use some customer service training, he appeared to be a teenager; he was rude but wasn't welcoming. Our wait staff was attentive, we ordered a large cornbread as our appetizer, for our entree we ordered the grits with salmon & shrimp and the chicken and waffles. Our entrees came out first, the grits and salmon & shrimp was delicious, I kept eating off of his plate. My chicken wings were seasoned well, the waffle was tough, over cooked, however the flavor of the batter was yummy. I ended up not finishing my waffles, I had a quarter of the waffle, it was just to tough to get through. After about 5 minutes into eating, we asked about our cornbread, we were then told that it takes about 20 minutes to come out since that is made to order. That should have been shared with us at the start, by the time it came out we were almost full from our entree, we ordered it as an appetizer not part of our entree. The butter came out with a huge piece of butter on top, that could have been spread into the cornbread. We ate a small piece while there, it was good but we ended up taking the rest home because we were already full. I want to visit again, this time for dinner. read more

On Friday night I along with 3 friends had a reservation for a table. We were greeted and seated shortly after arriving. Our issue is that upon receiving our checks, there were odd charges. Tanqueray and tonic had a charge of 1.00 for the tonic, another drink that had been ordered "on the rocks", had a 2.00 charge for ice! WTH..Each check had a 20% service fee included which along with the other charges were not disclosed. Im disappointed that while trying to support a Black owned business, the business is making every effort to screw patrons over. Smdh read more

We arrived at 7:08 for a 7:15 birthday dinner reservation and were told the table wasn't ready because we were too early so we went to the bar. At 7:15 we were told that they couldn't seat us until the one person in our party who was parking walked in. At 7:20 he arrived but we still had to wait. We were seated at 7:40. A waitress finally came at 8 and we placed our orders. At 9:15 we asked what was taking so long and we were told that they were busy and our orders hadn't even been started yet. Absolutely ridiculous! They ruined our entire celebration. I will tell everyone who will listen to never come here! read more

So I went to Keems for the first time on Saturday 3/14/26 because I checked out their menu saw some good reviews and spoke with a few people who said they enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Needless to say I was very disappointed first the waitress though nice was not her game she messed up my order, she forgot to bring our drinks she walked past us several times and never acknowledged me , never said you ok you need anything I had to flag her down to get my drink then when my order came out it was wrong and food I ordered never came out ...Needless to say I left hungry because I was so disappointed with the service and the food and lack thereof that I had no appetite after that needless to say they won't get my business ever again... read more

I have been wanting to try this place out for a while. I came on a Wednesday night and the place was not busy at all. I asked my server for a recommendation and she gave me two options. I decided to go with the small serving of corn bread and the jerk chicken Alfredo. The cornbread was good. A tad on the well done/dry side. The honey butter that it was served with made up for the dryness of the cornbread. Your eyes always will eat before you do. The pasta was served on a round plate. I think it would look more appealing if was served in a bowl. The flavor was there but visually could have been presented better. Overall I enjoyed my experience and glad to see a new restaurant in Wilmington. read more

We ate at keems over the weekend. The food was good but very expensive considering I only had chicken and waffles. I was still hungry when we left. I wanted to try various foods on their menu but they only serve brunch all morning and afternoon until 4pm. Their brunch menu only had approx 5 choices to order from. That don't make sense serving brunch until 4pm and not giving customers other options. They need to serve brunch until 2pm and then start their regular menu. Nice looking place and nice staff although I didn't like the VERY LOUD music and vulgar cursing in the rap music they were playing. All of their music had cursing in it. Who does that? That is not the music you play in an establishment when you're trying to attract and keep customers. The music was so loud that I couldn't even hear what my wife was saying from the other side of our table, and I have good hearing. I found brunch to be super expensive, over $75 read more

Super cool spot!! Customer Service was very good. Staffed seemed happy. Decided to go on a Saturday morning to do brunch. I had already menu stalked and knew what I wanted to try.. I ordered grits with salmon and shrimp, cornbread, and Hot Honey Wings & also ordered the lamb chops with 2 sides. Mac and yams.. Overall, the food was amazing with only 1.5 dislikes.. The Yams were horrible. The yams were seasoned sweetly on the outside with the wrong ratio of sweet and upon biting bland inside. I'm not a fan. & Didn't like the shrimp that came in the grits. Everything else was amazing. The mac and cheese was cheesy, and the cornbread was fluffy. Wings were tasty and tender. I also had a drink which was well made. Cannot recall the name, but our waitress Tanya, who was super sweet, recommended it. I recall tequila and pineapple, lol Catfish and grits were also a good choice. After having such a great experience with this place at happy hour, I decided to take the waitresses advice and come for brunch with my sisters yesterday. I must say, I'm glad I did. The bruch was even better than the happy hour. I ordered the crabcake deviled eggs, the catfish shrimp + grits, and a Mango Lemon Drop. Everything was a 10. The devil eggs were perfect! The catfish shrimp + grits was a combo I never knew I needed. Everything about it was amazing. The catfish was tender and perfectly seasoned. The shrimp were a nice size, and the sauce used for the grits was tasty. Of course I love my lemon drops but never had the mango flavor before. Chicken Wings my wife order it was awful too much fat on the wings. Tonight I had Keems for the first time. The food was delicious and the drinks were on point! There were 3 large parties plus a few tables against the wall. The servers worked together as a team and were very polite and accommodating considering the volume. I made a 5pm reservation on a Friday for a party of four. I arrived at 4:40pm and let the hostess know my party should all arrive by 5. She told me my table was ready and encouraged me to take a seat. At 4:45 I left my table to go to the bar since they have a special happy hour 4-7 pm (the rest of my party hadn't arrived). The hostess walked across the restaurant to let me know I'm not permitted to have a happy hour special if I have a table (even though my party hadn't arrived and I had time to order, drink, and pay before my reservation time... the place was pretty empty). I haven't experienced a restaurant that won't let you have a happy hour drink at the bar while you're waiting for your party to arrive. On to dinner... The food was phenomenal: 5/5. We enjoyed shared appetizers (cornbread with honey butter, lemon pepper wings, parmesan garlic wings). My entree was fried catfish with collards and candied sweet potatoes. All of the food was visually appealing, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and served at the perfect temperature. The "back of the house" has their act together at this restaurant. I took off one star because the service was 3/5. Our server seemed confused over some menu and bar items and we still had dirty plates on our table when she took our dessert order. I know it's difficult finding and retaining excellent servers these days. I believe the management would benefit from investing more training in their front of the house staff and considering why they would turn away a bar sale from someone who is waiting for dining companions (who are certainly going to order several full-priced cocktails from the dinner table) to arrive.
