I stumbled upon this place by accident. I don't live in the area so I was pleasantly surprised to find a snow cone establishment. I'm a snow cone fanatic. I would without a doubt pull over for snow cones any time any place. Anyway...this was like a dream because they serve their cones WITH Bluebell homemade vanilla ice cream (my #1 bb flavor in which I am also a fan of). A constant problem I run into with snow cones is not having enough cream (condensed milk) by the time I get past the top. I like the creamy taste. So, the bb vanilla ice cream made this experience sooo heavenly. DEFINITELY try this place. Get the baby size because even the small is too much. WOW WOW WOW WOW I feel like a traitor to my people, but this is the best shaved ice. I absolutely lost my shiz when I had this delicious magic. The ice is the softest I've ever had, and I am a snow cone/raspa connesseiur. It certainly takes too long, but it was worth the wait. Ask them to go a lighter on the syrup and it enhances the flavoring. I had the Bahama Rama Mama, and while I was gifted with gastro issues later, I didn't even care. Something about the combo of the ice cream and shaved ice was positively magical. I recommend that you go in so you can see the blue machine whirring and your ice being shaved before your eyes. Bahama bucks is great, but I honestly don't understand how this place is even in business. This is a good place to go if you have a book to read. The lines are always ridiculous and it takes the staff FOREVER to make a horribly made snow cone. They don't like to put a lot of syrup here so you will end up paying a premium price for a cup of ice. The kids who work there are awful, the last time I went I saw 3 girls playing on their phones talking while there were 4 cars waiting. This place is a joke. Love, love, love this place! Great festive beach themed atmosphere, with games for the family to play, while you enjoy your delicious snow cone or smoothie. We go at least once a week it seems, as it is my daughters favorite stop after her acting class. We stop in and get a dessert, play some games together, and talk about her class before heading home. My only complaint is the games are missing too many pieces, and the deck of Uno cards is so thing you can barely play, but we've adjusted our games to fit the time we are there. I'm going to have to remember to bring my old games here when the kids stop playing them at home. Hmm what can I say about Bahama Buck's. I wasn't a huge fan the first time I tried it. It was over-syrupped and just too much. But I gave it another shot and now I can't get enough! I find myself going at least once a week in the summer. I always get strawberry daiquiri and cherry coke and the tropic creme is a perfect addition. I'm really glad I gave this place second chance.. Good way to cool off in the Houston summer heat. I recommend splitting a baby if you aren't the type to finish most drinks/smoothies. Even though there's really no calories to shaved ice, my sister and I both weren't able to finish our baby sizes. I don't know how people can eat something like the avalanche. It's huge! You can upgrade to a bigger size for free if you check in on yelp. Wish that instead of upgrading I could get a baby half off or something, There's no way I would be able to finish a larger size. My only complaint is that I wish they had a smaller size than the baby. But I have a feeling that I am one of the few that wants that, judging from the number people who got the very large sizes. They have what looks like hundreds of different flavors. So many options. Ice is fine and soft. It melts in your mouth. Great way to cool off after a day out. They were very busy on weekend afternoon in August, including the drive thru. We waited around ~5 minutes for our orders. We were lucky we came before a huge rush of people. Decor has a "let's pretend we're not in suburbia and enjoy the island lifestyle" theme. Surf boards. Palm trees. Plenty of chairs and booths. Outdoor seating available too. Board games inside if you want to spend some time here. They seem to only employ high school students (over the summer at least). I can imagine this would be a great place to take some kids (if you want to deal with a sugar high). Their spoons also change color upon touching cold. Kids would probably love that. read more

Took Maddison about 5 minutes to acknowledge me and then another 3 to come take my order. I think she might get hurt if she smiles. The jokes on them cause 2 families of 4 walked in after me. As someone who used to work for Bahama bucks, I understand a lot of stress and what a fast pace environment is, but this location is horrible. The fact the inside is still closed is annoying, but past that, the fact you wait 45 minutes in the drive through WHEN THE INSIDE IS CLOSED, is beyond ridiculous. I blame this on management, either you need more staff or you need to train your staff better because theres absolutely no reason it should take that long when you should be making a sno in 30 seconds. There's currently 9 cars in front of me, only 3 have ordered & atleast 6 cars have left since I've been here. You are losing so much money and making the business look bad on top of it. This down time with COVID would have been the perfect time to train your staff efficiently, now peak season is here and y'all can't pull through. Sad because this is the closest one to my house and I won't be back. Can't comment on the quality of the sno because this is the second day in a row that I have left because it's taken too long. I am so frustrated with this place! First of all every time I go in all the employees look miserable like they don't even want to be there. The staff is not friendly whatsoever, we are never greeted when we go there. So I went in today even, knowing it wasn't going to be anything different from every other time I've gone there, and got a jungle berry with sour patch sauce and I get to about 5 scoops in and all I tasted was salt!! I don't know what the heck was wrong with it. I don't know if it was the ice or the flavor but it tasted bad like it had expired. I was really looking forward to going and having something cool after a hot day. I will definitely never be going back to this location ever again. Solid shaved ice in a great hangout spot for families and kids to chill this summer. Ordered a small tropical delite sno and a mini birthday cake sno. Took far too long to make, considering it was a rainy afternoon, there were no other customers and there were at least ten teen workers behind the counter. Sweet geebus, it does not take more than a couple minutes to put ice in a cup, pour syrup on it and stick an umbrella on top. The selection of flavors are really impressive, including a good amount of sugar-free flavors and they let you sample which is nice for the indecisive like me. The ice is also very fine, airy and soft. It is kind of pricey, but not totally outrageous. Make sure to ask them to go light on the syrup, unless you want to drown in diabetes like I did, REGRET. They also offer cool add ons like ice cream, creme, chocolate sauce, chamoy and etc. They also sell smoothies, soda, coffee and sno2throw snowballs for parties. They are also open til 11pm which is awesome, barely anything in the 'burbs is open past 9pm. Would greatly appreciate it if they could get dome lids for take out and drive thru orders, impossible to eat a sno cone in the car without spilling everywhere and without a lid to grip onto it's like mission impossible trying to get a small cup to sit in the cup holder without it toppling over. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: (7/15/2014) Thanks to Bahama Buck's owner, John, for enlightening me that there is indeed a way to get lidded cups. I repeat, DO NOT waste your time or money going to this location!!!!!!! It takes a lot for me to right a bad review. I've had two horrible experiences and called management with no response. 1st experience after a 40 minute wait our order was wrong, so we drove back 15mins they remade the order. One snowball was still wrong so we throw it away immediately. Then the other one was super dry and didn't realize it was missing ice cream until I made it home. 2nd experience, placed two different orders for curbside pickup, there was a 35 mins difference on the orders been ready!!! Guess what the orders were wrong!!!!! Horrible customer service!!! No adults working, manager is 17yrs old and it was everyone's first day...that what they say everytime. At this point we asked for a refund, they said they don't know to give a refund... we have to request one online via the app... we asked how to get a refund request on the app, they said they don't know!!!! We didn't use the app and the website doesn't have a place to request refunds!!!!! I've wasted $40 at this location. Again DO NOT go to this location!!! Love the concept of the drive thru. First time here and I ordered the birthday cake with icecream and it was delish. It was how I expected to be, it was so soft and good. Taste exacted like its suppose to. Pink lemonade was also sooo good! Prices were decent. Creme brûlée was really really gross and left a nasty after taste. I ordered a small 12oz pink lemonade with creme. It is pretty big since they filled it past the top of the cup. The shaved ice is really soft and smooth. It was however too sweet for me maybe I will skip the BMR style next time. There was only one car ahead of me and it took awhile for them to get their complete order since it was coming out one at a time several minutes apart. I had to wait 10 minutes.
