I lived in this community for two years. I have nothing negative to say about it, the property has always been kept impeccable, amenities were always clean and available. They had a rigorous cleaning and disinfecting schedule for the gym they would follow to the letter, even well beyond the COVID times. Management and maintenance have always been attentive and very responsive, all requests would be handled in a very short time span. If they can fix the issue with the back elevator's access to Bonnie Brae, this would be the perfect property (there's two elevators in the back, only one goes to the street, but you can't choose which elevator). But the elevator issue is only a problem if you live on the Bonnie Brae side. The Bahay was by far, one of the best properties i have lived in, i only moved out because I needed more space. read more

I chose the Bahay after receiving a 2-week notice to start a job in the city of Los Angeles. After some extensive research and touring multiple complexes, I couldn't find anywhere that competed with Bahay in terms of the quality of apartments and amenities for the price. Throughout my 15-month lease, the staff here was nothing short of outstanding. The front desk/management staff has a rotating schedule so you will always have someone up there at any given day until they leave around 6pm. The managers, Shannon and Jeff, will always greet you with a smile and outstanding customer service. There were times where I popped into their office and they dropped whatever they were working on to hear me out if I had an issue or question. Any problems I had were taken care of promptly (usually within the same day or 2). The facilities technician, Charlie, always showed up with a very friendly & professional attitude and got the job done quickly & efficiently. Service requests can be entered through an app, but I never had to do so myself. Whenever reporting an issue to the desk or management staff, they usually entered the request for me. The complex itself is clean. I believe they had housekeeping there most (if not all) days of the week as I regularly ran into them when going around the complex. A lot of the other residents have dogs that they walk around the courtyard or outside of the complex, but everyone's usually good at cleaning up after their own. The gym closes from 2pm-3pm daily to be cleaned, which was great to see since I used it regularly. The community is mostly a younger crowd (mostly mid/late 20's - 40's) and everyone was always polite & friendly. There wasn't too much partying or loud noises. If there was, the other residents were considerate to have it quiet by 10pm. Being so close to Central Los Angeles, I would've thought that the transients were going to be a problem. Although you will see them walking around outside of the complex (which is practically unavoidable in most places of the city), the complex is secured by key fob entry only and it was never an issue. There is also a security patrol vehicle that you often will see parked in the parking garage in the later hours. I also do a lot of online shopping, and one of my worries was the security of my packages. There is an Amazon Locker in the main package room which fits most up to medium-sized packages. However, large packages get delivered to the package room which is accessible via a key pad with your own personal log-in. Despite the package room not being manned, I never had a single package go missing or stolen. Oh, and my favorite part: there's a coffee machine in the lobby that provides free black coffee. For $1-2 chargeable though Apple Pay or credit card, it also creates some decent specialty drinks. Cups, creamer, and sweetener are put out by the management staff during their business hours. During their off-hours you have to bring your own cup. If that doesn't fit your taste, there's also a Target connected to the complex with a Starbucks inside. Overall, I'd recommend the Bahay. The only reason I didn't renew my lease was to move back home to be closer to family. read more

So much to say about my experience about the Bahay. I'll start with the pros Pros Great looking building Friendly maintenance staff You live above a Target Nice gym Cons Lost packages - when you get a notification that your package has arrived, it can be in your mailbox, Amazon locker, package storage, outside your front door, or outside of the building. So basically you are on a goose chase to find your package and hope that you get to it before someone steals it (which happened to me 3x) Crime - someone was shot outside of the building, every night you hear gun shots, fireworks, and helicopters (usually within the same night), there's no guest parking so guests have to park on the street and be subject to break ins (but tenant parking is no better since there's constant break ins in the parking garage, the building is situated between two rival gangs which is apparent from the graffiti that appears on the building weekly (the maint staff does a good job at painting over it). Dog runs - the building has two dog runs which sounds nice but unfortunately, the tenants don't clean up after their dogs despite the free poop bags in the dog runs. In some instances, the dogs run free because their owners have allowed them to walk down to the dog run, do their business and walk back to their apartment alone. Noise - if you have an apartment facing the pool, forget about chill nights. Pool parties go on in the day well into the night. The parties are usually broken up when security arrives for the night which is after 10pm... Lack of EV chargers - I was on a waiting list for my entire lease Moving out - one of the most frustrating experiences was moving out. The building will keep your deposit regardless of how pristine you leave the apartment. I was also charged an additional $560 on top of the $500 deposit that they kept. They sent me an itemized notice with various erroneous charges that no one could explain. Although I disagreed with the charges, I still paid them because I couldn't wait to be done with them. However, I recently received a notice from a debt collector almost a year after I'd moved (which prompted me to finally write this review) for the amount I'd already paid. I am currently disputing the charges which I luckily had proof of payment for. So despite the building having a couple nice amenities and a nice staff, I wouldn't recommend living there. read more

We used to absolutely love living here. The building was brand new and the management company was amazing. Since the building was sold several months ago things have gone downhill fast. 1). The staff no longer seem to care about the building or residents. It used to be that if you need something they would help, no longer the case. 2). The gym and other common areas are closed without notice. The gym is now closed from 2-3 PM. No notices telling you this. You only find out when you go to use it and it is locked. 3). The building allows pets but no longer enforces any rules. It is not uncommon to see urine in the elevators or in the hall ways. 4). The new owners are trying to aggressively hike rent. They are limited by law as to how much they can increase in each cycle and they are going to the absolute maximum. The neighborhood is nice and it is a super convenient area but I would recommend finding a complex that takes better care of everything. There is also about to be a TON of construction next door. read more

My boyfriend and I just moved to this community and we love it. Our last rental experience was not very satisfying, so we definitely did our homework before touring AB. We did have some concerns on the recent management change and issues mentioned in other posts. After touring the unit with Lizzie, we decided to give it a shoot and signed our lease on the same day. We are very happy with our decision so far! Pros: - People here are super nice and helpful - all the managers (Lizzie, Shannon, Jeff), the maintenance guy Eric, the cleaning lady... - The smart home system is convenient - Target on first floor is opening in July - Amenities are great Cons: - Noise: we could hear children crying or dog barking or ambulance passing by from our unit. Not an intolerable level, but just the complex doesn't have the best noise reduction. - We do hope to receive more guidance on how the smart systems work from the beginning, e.g. package room, amenities reservations... We spent some time to explore. But all the managers are very patient when we have questions. Overall, great experience so far. I'll try to update in two or three months. read more

Loving the Bahay! Moved in about a month ago and couldn't be happier. The amenities are bomb, i.e the heated pool, hot tub, really nice gym with great equipment, grills, speakeasy and the co working spaces. It's well decorated and always clean! My unit is facing the pool and courtyard so I can only vouch for the peace and quiet there. The best part is for sure the staff. I toured so many places trying to get the best feel, asked a million questions and hassled management so much and both Shannon and Nicole were more than patient with us. They always make sure to smile and know everyone's names, including all the dogs coming in and out and I love that! It makes it like a community, although it's a big building! The unit itself is beautiful. Hardwood floors, nest air/heat, comforter size washer and dryer, balcony, new dishwasher and refigerator...I could go and on and on. Don't even think twice about touring, you will love it here! read more

I moved in to Alexan Bahay back in October 2020 and honestly it's been one of the best decisions I've made. A few things I love about Alexan 1. Amenities are great (BBQ pits, Full Gym, Coworking Spaces, Hidden Speakeasy, Two Clubhouses, Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Outdoor Theater, and much more, Great Management (Jeff and Shannon) 2. New EVERYTHING! This building was opened I believe back in March 2020 so everything is pretty much brand new 3. LG appliances 4. Food trucks every week 5. It's always decorated based on the holiday/season. Great decor all year long 6. Best of all, we have a Target downstairs! Literally the best thing that could happened here. We originally really loved this building UNTIL our utility bills started coming in.. literally, HOW are they $300?? Especially when we have energy saving appliances etc. looks like sweet and water average to about $80 each a month which is the most I've ever paid for these utilities in my entire life lol. Granted for 2 months they went down to $200 which is still pretty insane but this month they're back up to $300. Can someone help me understand how electricity was $15 last month and then $112 this month?? This building uses a 3rd party service (Conservice) that's non responsive and apparently charges whatever they want. We even looked at the statement they gave us to calculate if this even adds up and it doesn't!! Management is also non responsive to this situation. read more

I want to start by saying the complex is beautiful until they denied my girlfriend's application, even though we make over six figures together. Due to the fact that she doesn't make as much as I did, they tried to pull the fast one and I had all these extra fees and basically said that she couldn't live there unless she made a certain amount of money. My car was vandalized while being parked at the garage with controlled access. Jeff and most all of the staffs are double faces, they didn't take any responsibility. We struggled posting this but circumstances have reached a point where we feel like it would be irresponsible for us to continue to endorse a management team, who are very nice people, but sadly have not lived up to the standards they set during the initial few months we lived there. To be clear, when we moved in, we loved it. It's a beautiful building and most of the tenants are great. However, there have been red flags all over the place such as: 1. Suddenly charging tenants to use the very amenities in the building that we are paying rent in. When we moved in, we could reserve with out a problem. Now anytime it's over four people it's $$$. 2. The building changed security companies to save money and now it takes security, an hour, yes, you heard that right, AN HOUR, to respond to anything. When confronted with this, management continues to either disregard or out right deny that this is the case. Would you really want to risk it? 3. And I think this is the one that is most disappointing: Management deals with numerous noise, or any complaints really, from numerous tenants by doing... well, I don't know. Maybe they write an email? Nothing changes and to be honest, I think we've resigned ourselves to the fact that it never will. Which really is a shame. So to that, we cannot recommend living here in good conscience until there is a change in management. I'm sure the nice customer service lady SRG will respond to this review by saying how much they care and to reach out to them, but we promise you we have, numerous times, they don't care and no changes will be made. read more

I LOVE everything about this building! This is the only place I've ever actually wanted to sign a lease for the second year. The two front office managers are amazing, helpful and kind! Shannon feels like family at this point and literally always brightens my day when I see her. The amenities are ALWAYS cared for (cleaned daily) which has never been the case anywhere else. The pool is essentially a resort pool that is a great place to make new friends. The gym has everything you could ever want so you don't have to pay for a membership somewhere else. There's a machine in the lobby where you can get free espresso daily & everyone who lives here is just super friendly and kind. If you have a pup it's perfect for you too. On top of all of this the apartments put on events all the time. From a pool party with an open bar, taco stand, and a DJ to networking events with snacks and beverages. My favorite is the hot cocoa bar, with all the fixings, every winter. It's amazing, so if you're thinking about moving, definitely give it a try. read more

Honestly even tho it's a big property the leasing staff make sure everyone feels taken care of and if you need any service or maintenance they are quick to help. This is by far the worst place I have ever lived. Beware of Nicole, Shannon, and Jeff, I had nothing but horrible experiences with them. Everyone is so friendly prior to the lease, but as soon as you are in, they could care less about you. I toured this property with Nicole, expressed my only concern is noise. I work 12 plus hours a day and it's difficult to rest when you can hear people's sound systems or other noise. I asked if there was anything I should know about the apartment she showed me and was told no. Of course I am not unreasonable, I know apartment living has its moments where someone may play their music a little too loud or the occasional party... that is expected. Little did I know my apartment was right above the stock room for target. Their music traveled up into my bathroom and echoed out into other rooms of my apartment. When I brought up the noise complaint the management acted like they didn't know where it was coming from. First they said it was my neighbor, then it was my upstairs neighbor. I even told them I could hear some sort of trash compactor... which should have been an indication of where the noise was coming from.... But again lack of care to investigate. I shared with them recordings I took of the music where you could hear everything crystal clear. This would go from 6/7am until 11/12pm. Even my neighbor told me he has been complaining for quite some time to the management and was always brushed off. I felt lied to in order for them to make money of a unit they will not be able to rent, zero disclosure. When I tried to escalate this issue and move to another unit, the only resolution would be to pay more money for a different unit (same layout and square footage). They did say they could find a contractor to look at why music would be heard, but made sure to promise nothing. Everything has to be pass through Jeff who is the most incompetent property manager I have ever come across. Even their corporate office will not respond to tenants. Save yourself the frustration and keep looking! read more

So this review is a long time coming, I really tried giving Sares-Regis a shot despite their horrible reviews on all their other properties they manage. I hate publicly bashing but I need to voice my opinion since Sares-Regis screens bulletin posts on their app so they can pick and choose what residents talk about, ON THE PUBLIC BULLETIN. As mentioned in another review this apartment complex was amazing when Greystar managed it, matter of fact one of the main reasons why I signed my lease is because all of the strict policies Greystar had in place. However, since Sares-Regis has taken over some of the residents stopped following the rules because the management does not enforce such as not wearing masks in common areas, not picking up after their pets, parking in undesignated areas in the parking garage, smoking (when the property is supposed to be a smoke-free community), etc. Very disappointed in management and some of the residents of the community for making a community I once was proud to live in a not so great place to live. read more

This place is amazing. I have been living here about eight months now and love the decision I made to live at Alexan Bahay. --Building-- The amenities are top notch and well maintained. There is also a ton of amenity space as well, which includes the awesome speakeasy and great places to remote work. The gym still has the new equipment smell, and there are lots of machines. The weekly food trucks and regular events are a huge plus too. The community as a whole is great--everyone says hello and is respectful. The building is built very well too. I have had practically no issues with the use of the apartment. Also, the doors/windows are thick, but Echo Park is loud place. So it's quite noisy but not bad for the city. If there ever were an issue, like something breaking or falling, it's usually cleaned up or fixed within one or two days--it's very impressive! 5/5 stars and would recommend! --Management/Staff-- Liz Without Liz's assistance throughout the leasing process I would not be living at Alexan Bahay. She negotiated with me to get signed and I'm so happy for it! Liz is and extremely hard worker who shows up every day with a great attitude--always smiling and greeting everyone, and is always extremely helpful with community members. She goes above and beyond for not just me, but all others as well. You rock, Liz! Shannon Unfortunately, Shanon, the manager at Alexan Bahay, is unpleasant to deal with. Starting with moving in, Shannon would not negotiate nor compromise as I was shopping around. I even got some strange answers to my questions. For instance, Shanon said that two roommates in a single apartment cannot have two separate leases because "we cannot put a chain-link fence down the middle of the apartment." Also, Shannon's general attitude towards issues that arise on the property often times escalates situations. If there's a problem, Shannon does not seek to peacefully resolve the issue. For instance, I had friends over to the complex two months ago during the relaxed COIVD mandates (respectfully by the pool with no music). One of the new rules was that you have to pay $750 to have 4+ people to visit for four hours... ouch. I refuse to ever pay that on top of rent. But Shannon could not hold back making snarky remarks to all of my guests as they were getting into the elevator to leave. Visiting her office with my significant other after this (who she knows), I asked why she would say things to a group of my guests and not me if there was an issue. Her answer was to look at my significant other, call him a "guest," and say that she won't speak to me with this "guest" in the room. Never apologized. In another instance, I left the study area just above the main lobby during my remote class to see what was happening after hearing very loud shouting over my headphones. It was Shannon and some man who were in a heated exchange yelling back and forth because he had a pit bull with him. I think there is a genuine issue when the manager is causing more of nuisance than a pitbull. I'll leave this topic there, because there are a lot more incidences. Hopefully this is informative as to what you may deal with/ not deal with if you chose to live here. Overall, I highly recommend contacting Liz to live at Alexan!! read more
