I lived here for over 2 years and didn't have the greatest experience. I had a private patio and stuff would get stolen all the time from there and management would never help me. Packages stolen all the time too and again management would never help. The managers even told me there was a camera facing my exact unit patio but apparently could never find the footage where stuff was stolen. Again my main issue with this place was management - except for Maggie who was great. Some would never respond to my emails, never helped me with any big issues. and never was nice. Always received dirty looks whenever I would pass by him in the front leasing office. In the end of my stay here, I had a break in and also had a stalker issue. I notified management of this and they did absolutely nothing to help. I would call everyday to ask if anything came up on the footage of my unit but again they never helped and gave the randomness excuses. Honestly made me very suspicious of my stay at Amp Lofts after that. I expressed that I would like to move out due to not feeling comfortable living there anymore and never received a single follow up or even a response to my final emails trying to get move out procedure details. Again it was always like mgmt had a weird vendetta against me or something, neighbors expressed same concerns as well. Amp is a pretty building with nice amenities but definitely not worth it with all the robberies and staff animosity. I would have liked to stay if it wasn't for all the issues. There are a lot nicer building in the arts district that offer just as much or more without the hassles. read more

I love the area that this place is in however if you have complaints they will not be responded to. I have had tenants dogs pee on my patio and have complained too the staff multiple times and nothing has happened. Now I'm being exposed to filth and my patio reeking of pee everytime I step outside in my patio. It is very unfortunate that nothing is being done to make this go away. It's hard writing this review because I do enjoy living here, but unfortunately there are some system wide things that are hard to ignore I'll do a pros and cons list Pros: - The location is great, lots of walkable things - The leasing office is full of nice and professional people, Noah, Johnny, and Maggie are a pleasure to deal with - amenities are great - common areas are kept clean and maintained Cons: - apartment was not ready to move in on move in day. floors were dirty, some lights were not working, blinds were dirty and damaged, front door/locking mechanism was broken. 3 weeks after move in date some issues still not fixed. - trash valet service is a joke, we have to pay $35 a month (non optional) for this trash service.I've tried 3 different times, and all three times my trash was still there after pick up time. I don't mind taking out my trash but if there is a service I am obligated to pay for then I intend to use it. - the property management company Greystar is non reachable, I tried through phone, contact sheets, and email. Once I was told Ester was supposed to get back to me in 24-48 hours a whole week has gone by and no response You pay a premium living here and it's hard for me to justify the cost when having to jump through so many hoops to get things done, it's hard for me to recommend this place unless some meaningful change is seen. read more

I wrote a review sometime back and Amp lofts responded with a number to call the community manager as seen in photo. It's a generic response making it seem like they are willing to help fix things. Guys we called the number listed in the image below 5 times and got the answering service and not a single person ever returned our call. After leaving 5 messages for the community manager to call back and not getting a single call back we gave up. They kept our entire security deposit even though we left the apartment in immaculate condition and charged us an additional $850 because we accidentally left some items in the freezer. These people will not ever call you back and have no intentions of resolving any problems. The we regret to hear of ur negative experience is a way for it to seem that they are willing to do something is bs, as the community manager never intended to call back or resolve anything. Note that the majority of positive reviews seen here are not legitimate and are completed by individuals that do not live at AMP Lofts. The staff requests reviews after giving tours which is misleading as reviews should be written by users of the product (Yelp reviews are one of their job performance metrics). What they are doing is equivalent to asking patrons that walk by a restaurant to rate their food without trying it. As one of the early residents that moved into AMP Lofts last year, I would strongly suggest that you look elsewhere. The hope was that the building management would get it together and that what I was experiencing was growing pains, but in reality, it is the product that they offer. There is a complete lack of attention to managing the property with the focus being squarely on leasing units (referred to as bait and switch - see pictures of graffiti on walls and CO fire alarms alerting for months). As other reviewers have mentioned, the locks leverage two separate apps to open the doors, and they seem to always be broken, leaving you stranded outside. Other times, when broken, the doors are left completely unlocked and are unsecured, which in downtown Los Angeles is a huge problem (see next paragraph). Recently, the entire building awakened to a fire alarm at 5:30 am on a Sunday morning resulting in all residents evacuating. Luckily, as I evacuated, my Sherlock Holms detective skills kicked into full gear and I noticed a homeless man inside the building on the first floor yelling, hitting walls and opening fire hydrants; looks like I solved the great mystery of the fire alarm. To be fair, there were 30 other residents watching, so I can't take full credit for solving this mystery. This went on for twenty minutes before the man eventually ran through the parking garage towards the leasing office. Who knows if he was ever caught, but this carelessness with securing this 'luxury' property is ridiculous. I was told prior to signing my lease that the building has onsite security, so you would think that these issues are surprising. They become less surprising once you learn that the 'security' is a guy that you never see that is literally sleeping in his car, lol, I kid you not. Speaking of cars, if you choose to rent here, don't park on the street or your car will likely be broken into (pay the $2,000 for the parking spot). In the time that I have lived here, I have seen over 50 car windows smashed on our street. Weeks ago, I came out to a car on jack stands as it's wheels had been stolen. Perhaps the lack of security cameras coupled with the lackluster security could be to blame. I can also echo the noise issues that the other reviewer mentioned, but this could be due to the luck of the draw on your unit/neighbors. The property has a valet trash service that is mandatory (I believe that we are forced to pay roughly $50 per month to NOT USE IT and it was not discussed prior to signing my lease). This service is for people that are literally too lazy to take their trash to the trash room. In theory, residents put trash in a bin in front of their doors at night to get picked up by a trash valet overnight. In practice, residents place multiple trash bags in the middle of a fully enclosed hallway that sit for 24/48 hours before being removed. You don't need my Sherlock Holms detective skills referenced earlier to understand that this results in the property literally stinking, and beyond that, looking like skid row. I'm embarrassed to bring guests over as we literally walk thru trash to get to my unit. Lastly, to build on the lackluster management, I have a question for you; if you reached out to your building's management to report your altercation with an armed intruder stealing tenant property, would you expect a response? Don't if you live at AMP Lofts. While walking my little furry friend at 4:20 am due to a tummy ache, I heard the sound of metal being ground very loudly from a block away. I made my way back to the property and discovered an armed intruder in the building using an electric grinder to cut a tenant's bicycle lock. After confronting the person, he left thru the interior garage of the property. I immediately emailed the management team with pictures and never received a response back. Oh, and the onsite security --- we found him at the other side of the property and were told that the other guy was on a 'break', lol. There is plenty more, but this should be enough of a taste to inform your decision. Happy renting! read more

Office staff, mostly management, Johnny comes off as extremely lazy. They won't answer the door for delivery, guests etc. for example, let's say someone is at the front leasing office trying to get in - they will open the door and show the guest how to use the call box rather than help direct the guest on where to go. I'm not sure what they do all day but it's definitely not helping residents, or trying to be welcoming. The building is not well maintained. Dog pee everywhere in the hallways. I complained recently, they said they're "down on staff" and today they replaced a total of 3 carpet tiles that had piss stains. Nice. Security: if you come here looking for an apartment, I am sure that they will tell you they have security. This is not true. They sleep in their cars *** for supporting information google "Greystar BBB". They have multiple alerts for potential customers. I am also trying to track down my security deposit after moving out and they are ghosting me. A lot of options in downtown LA, no reason to live here. read more

We moved in last week and love our unit so far! It is a spacious space with Downtown LA views. Joseph was our leasing agent and gave us tours on two separate occasions and was great in answering all my questions. We ended up moving into a unit sight unseen (the unit I wanted a floor higher was taken), but felt comfortable doing so since Joseph was able to provide me with a video tour and unit measurements. We were approved quickly and move-in went smoothly! Pros: As of today, the open amenities are the swimming pool, two grills, and outdoor pool table. A few of the amenities (e.g., sky deck) are still not available because they have not been signed off by construction. Juan, the lifestyle coordinator, mentioned that they may be putting some of the bikes outside for residents to work out in open air. Urban Radish is just across the street. On Wednesdays, Urban Radish have live music, which I can enjoy from my own balcony. The ROW DTLA is also a few blocks away. We did not have our internet set up for a few days but AMP Lofts has Guest Wifi that was fast enough for me to work from my unit until AT&T was able to come by. This is my first time living in a home with smart features and it's been so convenient to dim the lights and adjust the temperature from my cell phone. They have courtesy patrol in the evening, which I appreciate in making our community feel safer. Cons: Noise seems to travel vertically and horizontally as I can hear my upstairs and adjacent neighbor. PM me for details. The leasing agreement says you have to make arrangements to accept large packages yourself if it does not fit into the package locker. I recently went to the mail room and saw several packages left out on the counter for residents to pick up. At this time, we have to use two physical key fobs and two separate mobile apps to use the elevators, enter our unit, and access amenities. One of the advertised features was the ability to allow friends/family into our unit via our mobile app, but I was told that the set up is still pending. The location is very good. The residence is nice. Rent are higher than the other market especially for the service we get and there is no welcoming offers. There is a garbage valet fees of 35$ (total garbage fees 65$) for having someone taking your garbage in front of the door. The result Is that you go home and you walk in a row full of garbage bags with an horrible smell + flyes. Every Sunday some peoples including the building maintenance staff (true story) organise birthdays with balloon and tents with around 50 persons so you cant chill at the pool its full of families swimming in the pool and running around the pools. There guest also have free access to the parking lot because there are invited by some peoples who have access to the gate... Every time I ask to the security peoples who are all those peoples and who invite them the security guys just say "I have no idea". There is literally no control to access the pool and the building so everybody can walk In and do what they want. For the price we pay its unbelievable. - I use to drop packages to the mail room so UPS or USPS can collect them. When 7 of my packages disappear I told the security who told the leasing agent but nobody reached out to us. Nobody care. The security guys are here for nothing beside telling you that you ll have to leave the pool soon or to not drink in glass bottle... The roof of the gym room and the tv room are way too high for no reason. Just to look like a loft. Consequence is the shadow cover the pool from 3pm even in the summer. They show you a bunch of TV during the tour but its just never working in the past 3 months. I signaled couple of time but they never fixed it. I seen some people who had to bring there own tv to watch football etc. They cut the wifi in the public area during the week-end. They maybe think oney the staff can use wifi. The All the access door are control by 2 different applications so you alway have to look for the good app + to pick the right door and to swipe it. Everybody complaint about it. Only 2 bbq for around 400 units. The worst experience was when I was moving some stuff one morning, I let 4 big moving box for 30 minutes in front of my door. Full of designer folded clothes still with the hang tag on and electronic stuff. The boxes were all taped and I was inside my unit. The maintenance guys took it, opened it and threw it on the garbage. I had to go on the garbage room and see he kept some for himself as well. I had to literally jump on the big trash bin as nobody helped me to get my stuff out. Also I had forgot some stuff of my baby by the pool and they throw it away. So dont expect to find something that you forgot somewhere cause they will take it for themselves or throw it in the garbage read more

I was one of the original tenants to move into this building in August. While the building is modern and beautiful, I strongly recommend that you do not move here. First, there are a lot of music producers and noisy tenants living here. I have been working with AMP Lofts for two months now due to the tenant above me blasting bass during sleeping hours . The tenant has retaliated against my complaints by stomping instead of walking throughout his apartment. I have lost SIGNIFICANT sleep over these noise complaints and spent hours on the phone with the leasing company when I should be sleeping. Additionally, the building uses smart phone technology to open doors and access different amenities. This would be great if the technology actually worked. I spend much time sitting by doors waiting for the apps to open doors. . This is dangerous in this neighborhood due to the growing crime on this street. I also don't have time to be sitting at doors throughout the day. AMP will NOT give you a key fob even when residents have complained about safety concerns. If you are concerned about your sleep, safety, and time, I recommend other new buildings in LA. There are lots to choose from. read more

Decided to place a deposit down on the unit I wanted, well before the place is completed, but I know once people start seeing the finished product, these units will sell out quickly. Lauren was great at walking us through the layout and offered to send us video updates during the build! She had a genuine personality and we felt comfortable even 3-4 months out. We put down a $500 security deposit, we had the apartment professional cleaned, and had one wall that we painted but as in photos below we painted back. To original color. I would not recommend moving here under any circumstance. This company tries to collect and withhold your money at every single turn. This building and surrounding area are incredibly unsafe for healthy living. Every morning that you walk out of this building, you will see peoples car windows smashed. My $1200 mountain bike was stolen from their locked bike storage. None of the staff seemed to be concerned or motivated to secure the building. Other tenants bikes were stolen both before and after. I had over $1K of packages stolen from the USPS Mail drop off bin that the building provides for our convenience. They were stolen by a guest of another tenant which they HAD ON FILM. There was no investigation and nothing was done to credit me for my losses. Now that I'm finally free from this building, they are withholding my security deposit. No letter was sent to me by email or mail before the 21 day deadline and I had to keep calling to have a statement sent to me by email which said that I actually OWE them money. I left the apartment extremely clean and no damage was done other than normal wear and tear. Half the time you go and try to use the apps compatible with this building, they do not work. Everything in the beginning of my move in with Enrique was great, until he left. I am warning you now to take a serious step back before thinking about moving here. A lot of the bad reviews previously written have somehow disappeared. read more

SERIOUSLY AMAZING! We were In the process for another location down the street at a complex called aliso.. one day we came for lunch in the area and drove by this complex I called out of curiosity and right away they said yes come by ! From the minute we arrived we felt this beautiful warm welcome we did not receive at the other complex. Customer service , and having core values is highly important to me. Here at amp lofts I received this from every employee I came across. While we were waiting the event coordinator was so amazing he gave us a four of the model unit and walk through the amenities while waiting for the one in charge of the leasing. It was now time to meet with Enrique. Whom was EXTREMELY helpful, and guided us through everything. He had knowledge of all the whole complex and any question we had, he had the answer to. We had already paid a deposit at the other complex but hadn't signed anything. Because this experience during my tour at amp I knew right away I said this is the place for us.. I want to be here instead of the other place. HUGE THANK YOU TO ENRIQUE! this is a big change in my life and you made it feel like home. We made the transition to move forward with amp lofts and I am so happy with our decision. We're moving in soon and I cannot wait for the experience that awaits us here. Review based solely on my PRE-move in experience. Let's start with the fact that this entire building (Amp Lofts) is only 1 month old. Picture that new car smell and multiply it by 300 units; because the whole dang building is BRAND NEW. I've always wanted to live in a loft. The cement floors, exposed vents, big open windows- this place has got that AND more and at a price that is almost too good to believe. Each section of the building has it's own little personality- whether it's the urban/flex one bedrooms or studios- each have their own little vibe. There is an apt for everyone. Aside from the units, the amenities are ridiculous. I have to keep saying ((BRAND NEW)) state of the art gym, sparkling clean pool/hot tub/bbq space, AND they have a lawn for yoga classes. (I was told that there is goat yoga on the schedule, btw) The building is located in the heart of the arts district (which is totally up and coming btw) & conveniently located walking distance to amazing restaurants, breweries, cafes, and grocery stores. Now let's get to the real deal- ENRIQUE. Amp Lofts found a real gem hiring Enrique.. that man has so much patience and boy does he know how to sell. He not only gave us 3 in person tours on 3 different occasions, he kept us up to date on units that went available when people didn't turn in their paperwork by the required deadline. What leasing agent personally calls you and says something like, "hey, quick! you gotta come check this one out that just became available. I think you'll love it and it'll probably go by the end of the day." We changed our mind multiple times in the two weeks that we were apt hunting and he was accommodating with our budget and NEEDY, needy, needs. Our experience wouldn't have been the same without Enrique's patience and help. I look forward to moving into our new place in a couple of weeks and I am sure that it will not disappoint. We recently moved to LA and looked at places across the city and Amp Lofts is hands down the best place we found for a number of reasons. First, Enrique the leasing agent is absolutely awesome! He showed us every possible option for our budget, took the time to understand what was important for us and even allowed us to see apartments multiple times while we made the tough decision of which one we wanted (because they're all so great). The apartments themselves are beautiful, spacious and a high quality finish throughout. The building and amenities are modern and it feels like a great community. We can't wait to move in. I am moving in this week and wanted to take a second to leave a note about the service I received during the leasing process. The building itself is brand new and beautiful. But honestly so far the best thing about this place is the staff. Every single person I came across has been wonderful and helpful. This is especially true of my leasing agent Enrique who not only showed us what felt like every unit in the building across several visits, he made us feel welcome to do so. In fact after so many visits and phone calls Enrique's visible attitude towards every person including myself, his co-workers, and my family, was nothing short of flawless. He made the process go smoothly and my impression was one of a guy that likes his job, is good at his job, and will go out of his way to make you feel at home. If I had to leave a suggestion, I would ask for something like a single sheet of paper with all the steps that happen from the application approval through move in. While Enrique and the staff were able to answer absolutely everything efficiently, I thought that some information like a timeline of events, an app download list and info, and some details about deposits and things to name a few, all in one place would be useful. AMP Lofts is a brand new, stunning, smart-enabled, future-oriented complex built in a loft style (open plans with a variety of different finishes depending on the floor). It is situated in a part of the Arts District with a really nice vibe, near beloved eateries and coffee shops like Bestia and Maru (not to mention lots of new shops and companies moving in like WB records, spotify, etc). They have a large number of dedicated EV charging spots which is a rarity in LA. They also have bikes residents can use first come first serve in addition to being across the street from a Metro bike station. As a smart complex, I believe you can control access to the apartment through an app or key card. It has a unique artistic and techy aesthetic. I would like to thank Joseph for being an incredible leading agent who went above and beyond to help me in light of the current pandemic. After a ridiculous amount of research into the apartments in the area, I really wanted to live here but alas the timing didn't work out. I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

This place is absolutely beautiful! The photos online really do not do it justice! It is in such a great location across the street from the cutest grocery store Urban Radish and walking distance from some of our favorite bars and restaurants. If you want to do a tour or inquire about living there asking for ENRIQUE! He is phenomenal. So sweet and professional. He gave me an amazing tour of the building TWICE and helped answer all of my indecisive annoying questions. I seriously cannot say enough about him. This is the best experience I have ever had with any leasing agent. He really is the best and helped me find a unit that I am 100% in love with! Even though there is an amenity called "Outdoor Kitchen" it does not have a sink. You have to go to the restroom or walk over to the clubroom to wash your hands after handling food. There are also only TWO grills for a 300+ unit property. This is not enough grills once the property fills up. The fridge in the bbq area is also not cold enough to keep drinks cold. The stools are not at an ergonomic height and does not fit underneath the counter (so it is not comfortable to sit on and eat). The clubroom is supposed to have two work stations with two desktops for communal use but that is still not installed. The club room DOES have a sink and functional fridge but does not have a full kitchen (no stove, no microwave). The sky deck is still closed as of today (not sure why, looks like all the furniture is installed). Only three exercise bikes are available for use. The pool has shortened hours due to COVID but I'm not sure what the rationale is since that would actually promote more residents to congregate at once since there are less hours to enjoy the pool. For the premium you'd pay to live here, you'd expect more. read more

Seems like amp is going downhill by the day. Very different now from when I first moved in, I also don't think they are doing extensive background checks on some of these new residents. In the past you had to go through thousands of hurdles to be approved. Now we are just living among drug dealers and people with severe mental health issues. The Managment is doing a terrible job a catering to the needs of the current long-standing hardworking residents. If you're thinking about moving here think twice and a third time! Especially if you check out the 4th floor. Stay away! There is a mentally unstable woman they continue to let live on the premises who terrorizes residents and constantly pulls the fire alarm at random times... there is literally an incident EVERY WEEK! This is NOT an exaggeration. Horrible for those who work from home. A few months ago police were called because she was running around the halls with a kitchen knife and carved "die" on another residents door which they covered up and tried to sweep under the rug. But everyone knows exactly what happened. She's also been videoed going around naked among vandalizing other items in the building . Greystar is very negligent! and they continue to be. They allow her to keep coming back after she gets taken in and released. It's been reported that her place is filthy and she's constantly trashing the halls and other areas of the building. More recently there has been ink and broken eggs in the hallways near her unit. It's disgusting. This is not a luxury experience as advertised, don't be fooled. Residents have had enough. The alarms have been getting pulled so much by this woman it's hard to tell if it's a real emergency, very frustrating. They are faster at reprimanding people for music too loud than they are at getting rid of this disruptive resident. They need more security and more people on staff period especially with how many units and residents who live here . Aside from the unwell woman; they have just been moving like turtles with things that need to get fixed around here, and have the nerve to keep raising the rent. They key system sucks most doors are only assessable through using apps that is until the power goes out or your phone battery goes. Homeless people have gotten in randomly and have caused problems as well. There is room for major improvements and they need to happen immediately. This place used to have such order and vibe, but that doesn't seem to be the case lately. read more

My husband and I were looking for a place for almost 2 weeks, we found Amp loft by mistake and now we've being leaving here for almost 6 months and We Love it!! When we first walked into the leasing office Enrique welcome us, He is Amazing! He took the time to showed us the apartments twice to make sure we choose the perfect one for us and answer all of our questions, make sure to ask for him if you ever walk in to the leasing office, you won't regret it! I really hope that someone in corporate office reads and really knows that they are really lucky to have good employees. Everyone that I met today in the leasing office. But let me expess my real and honest opinion on one specific person (ENRIQUE) The leasing consultant. OMG he is a one of kind. WOW, when I fist called he answered and was very nice and professional. And very knowledgeable. Of the building and units. And with all the many questions that I gave him. He always answered and if he did not know he definitely told me that he will have an answer for me. But what really blown me away is his energy how funny and very genuine he was. He really made me laugh. He showed the property gave me all the information took his time and would always ask if I had any other question. To be honest I really like the building and the units are wonderful. I think I would be very happy living there and if a make my choice of moving there it really would be because Enrique really made me feel like if I was already living there. It would bring a smile to my face. Seeing Enrique at the office. If anyone wants a tour at Amp Lofts make sure to get it from Enrique.
