Vegetables with shrimp over noodles (not what we ordered but it was okay)
Stephanie W.

We stopped in for a weekday dinner. There seemed to be a bit of a language barrier when we were ordering. Our server struggled with English. We asked about one dish, then ordered another, and in the end, we were served an entirely different dish that we hadn't ordered. Still, they were not far off --- we ordered vegetables with shrimp and were served shrimp with vegetables over noodles instead --- so we didn't say anything. We were also served a bowl of plain rice that we didn't order. Overall, our dinner wasn't bad (I've had better; I've had worse), although parts were over-salted, and in the end it certainly didn't seem worth the more-than-$80 bill for the two of us. Pros: the spring rolls were delish Cons: paying too much for a so-so meal

I came to Bahn Thai for lunch takeout. Read some pretty good feedback so decided to try it. The lunch specials are $13 on average and comes with a spring roll and hot and sour soup. I ordered the red beef curry with white jasmine rice. The spring roll was tiny but quite tasty. Hot and sour soup however was pretty bland. It tasted like watered down vinegar soup. The beef curry I didn't like the fact that since it's a take out they put the rice into the beef curry. By the time I got home my rice was soggy since it soaked up all the curry. They're was barely any sauce left. The portion of the curry is very little so I can see why they put the rice into the curry to make the portion bigger. When you take out the rice there's barely any curry. The curry itself didn't taste bad that's why I gave them a 3 star. Not impressed for the price. Probably won't come back.

I can't be entirely sure but I think this might just be one of my (if not THE) first review(s) I've written in Burlington (the other B-town). Bahn Thai I believe is part of a larger chain of restaurants baring the same name, but from what I could tell about the place, it didn't have a cookie cutter look or feel, in fact I would go as far as to say this place was down right authentic; from the staff, decor, music and just overall vibe. We were meeting here on Sunday for a family birthday celebration, and upon initial arrival we weren't sure if they were open as the Open sign out-front was off and there was no other signs of life that this place was even open. The hours said they were open so we walked up and tried the door and presto - open! Hooray! Walking in the restaurant was fairly empty, with our party of 10-12 being the main customers there for quite some time. As I mentioned, the decor and vibe of this place was very authentic, statues and pictures of Buddah and highly decorative golden elephants filled the space with simplistic fixtures, furnitures and decor accents filling in the rest of the gaps here. Being one of 2-3 groups here, the two staff on hand were incredibly efficient and took great care of our large group from beginning to end, they even found time to roll out some happy birthday songs and some dessert when the time came in out groups service. The real winner here was the food, others have given them a more average mark in this category, but from my vast Thai experience, I'd say everyones meals were very well done, maybe not the very best I've had, but definitely among some of the better Thai meals I've had. My go to when not having Pad Thai is always Cashew Chicken made extra spicy. These guys totally delivered on flavour, freshness of ingredients and spice for this dish and my plans to only eat half my order quickly went down the tubes - it just tasted so damn good! Burlington isn't exactly a close trip for Thai, but knowing this place is here is great for whenever I'm in town in future and/or passing by Burlington and in need of some eats. For locals, I'd tell you that you're definitely lucky to have a good thai spot in town! I approve. Eatcrest out

Visited PinToh for the first time today for lunch. I ordered the pad see ew and my friend ordered…read morethe Khao Soi. The prices were a big higher than expected, but a little cheaper given we ordered lunch menu items. The portion of the pad see ew was quite big but unfortunately was quite salty and didn't have the expected flavour. The Khao soi had a nice coconut flavour but the amount of noodles was inproportionate to the amount of soup. Happy to see a Thai restaurant in Hamilton but the meal left us lacking.

So it started out with my friend ordering pizza. But he realized I can't have gluten and so he…read moresaid, I'm going to get you the best thai food from my favourite place. He ran in to pick it up, as we temporarily parked semi-illegally to wait in the cold, very busy streets of Hamilton. I wasn't able to go in and check out the ambiance of the place, but I imagine it's cool. We got it, picked up the pizza and got it back to his place. This was for New Year's Eve. I tasted the curry on its own. Delicious. I basically poured the rice into the bowl and stirred it around. And I proceeded to eat it in silence, ignoring everyone around me as I ate the best curry of my life. He asked if I liked it, so I nodded and kept eating. I suggested that I wanted a pill or something that delayed my fullness so I could eat like 5 orders of it, because it's so good. Massaman Curry with Braised Beef 11/10
