Fortunately I'm reasonable healthy and my interaction with the office is usually once a year for an annual physical. It is a review of blood labs, includes an EKG done in the office, and the normal look and listen to what's going on with my body. If referrals are needed for specialists follow-up they are made. I'm 77 years old and I've been a patient for over 10 years and they are keeping me going. I just called the office a few minutes ago, someone answered, helped me renew two prescriptions, and it took about 3 minutes. That's awesome. A few years ago I sliced open my finger on a very sharp kitchen knife. I called the office and they said to come right in. Dr. Strutz sewed up my finger right in his office saving me a trip to the ER. My last labs showed some decline in kidney function. Dr. Strutz said you were probably dehydrated, drink more water and he ordered a retest. He was correct, retest result all normal a consistent year over year.

In addition to MS, seizures are in Dr. Corey-Bloom realm of care. She never took into account that the MS drug (Avonex & Rebif) she prescribed could cause seizures. She should have listened, paid attention, dug deeper, and done something! I am furious! Who else is she not listening too? Who else is walking around untreated. Someone like Corey-Bloom should not be a Doctor in a teaching hospital, or possibly shouldn't be a doctor at all??? Do yourself a favor, find a doctor other than Corey-Bloom.

He doesn't rush you through your appointment, instead he patiently listens to everything that you have to tell him and then asks lots of questions then makes his diagnosis or decides what further tests you need. It's nice that he is such a good listener because you feel like he's able to understand what's really going on. Turns out my family member needed to have surgery and Dr Huott was honest about the different surgeons that we could go to, which ones had good bedside manner and which ones didn't but, were good surgeons. We liked that he was truthful because now we know what to expect. I also really appreciate that when you use the Follow my Health app to communicate with him he will personally email you or call you. My family member's situation was pretty serious and he had no openings for months. We asked to be put on a waiting list for cancellations and were able to be seen within a week. After he finally did see us The MRI came back with problems that needed to be addressed quickly. So he came in early one morning just so he could go over the MRI and explain the options. How many doctors do that anymore? He could've just sent us a message to go see a surgeon but instead he wanted to go over the MRI in detail to help my family member understand the gravity of the situation, because he knew that my family member already was waffling about surgery. Seriously he's a nice guy. We really feel that he cares for us. Our family totally trusts him and will always go to him for any neurologist type problems. I didn't have the answers to his questions, and he seemed irritated at me about that. I told him she should contact these doctors, and ask these questions doctor to doctor. I signed released for that to happen, but he never called. This doc was also pretty useless about providing referrals or resources related to my daughter's problem. He didn't mind ordering tests, however.

I got in at the time my appointment was scheduled, His staff did the preliminary work, ie Temperature, Blood pressure, and oodles of questions. Dr. Christopher Toupin, came in and went over the questions and got into in depth explanations of each. He is professional, personable, polite and even has a sense of humor. OMG,! He's Human.
