We booked a camping trip at Wagon Trail Campground with my wife, son, and dog, and had such a great experience that we ended up extending our stay and have already booked another trip for September! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the grounds were well-maintained, and everything felt clean and cared for. One thing we really appreciated was how each campsite felt private, even though there were other campers nearby. It created a relaxing atmosphere without feeling crowded. Whether you're camping as a family, with pets, or just looking for a peaceful getaway, Wagon Trail Campground is a fantastic choice. My first time in an RV at Wagon Trail campground. What an amazing experience !!! From the time you walk into the office you are met with a smile and a friendly greeting. They're very helpful in telling you all about the campground . The sites are always swept out after every camper leaves. The bathrooms are an absolute five star They're cleaned regularly and have ample hot water . The owners,Tim and Kathy are hands-on and you can see them either in the office or outdoors raking out the sites. Large secluded campsites with a nice open ground and a playground in the center.. I was skeptical about not camping at Peninsula but honestly this was such a great experience! The sites are wooded and well maintained. The bathrooms - even the pit toilets - are so clean and nice smelling. The only thing I was a little not sure about were the quiet hours from 10 pm - 8 am, and I guess moreso the fact that when we checked in the lady made a point to tell me that that also applied to small children, which I get, but also, don't have that much control over? Our kids got up at 6:30 everyday so we left the campground for awhile and came back at 8 to start our day - worked out fine, though! We'll definitely be back. read more

What an absolutely wonderful campground. We've always been tent campers but decided to purchase a 22ft travel trailer mainly because we are the proud parents of a 100 lb bernedoodle puppy. We chose Wagon Trail Campground as our first adventure with both our trailer and our baby and all went beautifully. We reserved a full hookup site and we were beyond impressed. Every site it pretty private and wooded .. we loved it. We had a fabulous time, the store at WTC supplied everything we forgot to bring, their restroom and showered were cleaner than my own home, and our puppy enjoyed all the other 4 legged friends that were glamping along with us. We will definitely be back soon. read more

We love camping at Wagon Trail! Lots of space between camp sites. Super quiet, especially at night, plus you can see so many stars in the night sky. This is our absolutely favorite place to relax, rewind and recharge. Restrooms, laundry, game room and adult lounge are always clean. We highly recommend Wagon Trail Campground. One of the best campgrounds ever!! Well kept and managed sites in beautiful woods, fantastic staff, and spotless bathrooms/showers. Very kid friendly. My little one loved the park. Cars were very conscious and slow. Lots of kids and dogs around so it was nice to see people being careful. Short walking distance to Rowley's Bay. We enjoyed the bakery! Other nice hiking trails too. Nice general store for treats or supplies. read more

Believe the other reviews! This is the cleanest campground I have ever been to. They actually rake each site, so when you get there it is all groomed and ready for you. My wife and I stayed in one of the Yurts that you can rent. We had a great time. Slept well and it was a different experience. The bathrooms are a couple year old now but they are kept in such immaculate condition that they look brand new! The owners and staff take great pride in what they have and certainly know what customer service is all about. I even saw the owner walking and she picked up a cigarette butt off the gravel driveway..... Thanks again for a great long weekend! read more

This is the perfect place to camp with your motor home, trailer or tent when you are on vacation. Each site is somewhat private with trees and other vegetation separating you from your neighbors in the next site. The sites are spacious and nearly level throughout. The roads are well kept and the bath houses are so neat and clean, too. The people in the campground office are so friendly and accommodating that it made the whole experience so pleasurable. It is so close to Sister Bay, Rowley's Bay and great swimming at Sand Bay Beach! I would highly recommend this campground. One of the best I have stayed at throughout the US. read more

As far as rented camping sites, this is as good as it gets. The owners and employees were all super friendly and helpful and their office/store is filled with everything one needs for some rest out in some wooded areas. It is primarily RV camping so if one wants real deep woods camping the secluded sites they offer may be a disappointment. I can't knock it, though, because it is not advertised as such. The secluded sites are not really that far from any of the other ones but that also means you are close to fresh water spigots, and that is the best water I have ever tasted. Mercy. Provisions can be found at the local Piggly Wiggly, the best choice, or the Pioneer Store, which is a convenience store that has nothing special and is overpriced, but it's cute, I guess. The provided bathrooms/showers are amazing. They were so clean that I felt bad sullying the stalls with the nastiness of my body. All was well, as my muck washed down the drain without a trace. I was expecting something else but was completely satisfied with what we got. read more

Amazing campground. We brang our camper and our friends stayed in a yurt. Our site was great with water and electric and there yurt was super cool, clean and spacious. The campground is very clean with great bathrooms/showers and the staff is excellent. Judy went out of her way to tell us the best local things to do and how to get there. The store has just about everything and my kids racked up a hefty bill, but it's worth the memories. read more

On a total whim, a friend and I decided to go camping in Door County for the first time. After scouring the web for campsites, we found Wagon Trail and booked two nights--and boy are we glad we did! The staff was incredibly kind and thoughtful--helping us plan our days and providing us great information and forgotten supplies (reasonably priced). Our camping spot, 108, was perfect and we really enjoyed cooking dinner in the fire pit. The facilities were top notch, and everyone camping was remarkably friendly. We've been camping for 25+ years and this campground is by far a favorite. In fact we've been to Wagon Trail every year for those 25 except when we forgot to reserve and they were fully booked. Bathrooms have all been remodeled and are gorgeous! The sites are huge, cleaned before you arrive and each site is equipped with a fire pit and picnic table. Campers have opportunity for both privacy at their spot because you have lots of space but are still able to have community with fellow campers. The only amenity the kids might miss is the pool, but kids love riding their bikes all around the gravel roads and hiking the trails! The office people are wonderful as well. IMO Wagon Trail is top 10 in the country! read more

I would give this place 6 stars if that were an option. They go above and beyond. First, it is very clean and very pretty. Second, the location is fantastic and nearby a delicious Swedish bakery and bay as well as a wilderness park, and nearby other attractions in door county. Third, there are large lots but also a lot of tall trees around and that makes you feel like you are in the woods; gives you a great feel for being in nature. However, I have a story that needs to be told. Being fairly new to having a truck camper, we accidentally had our battery run out and we weren't parked in a hookup lot and our solar panel wasn't doing the job. So we were stuck with a dead battery at 7:55pm and a truck camper whose automatic jacks weren't going to work the next morning. I rushed to the welcome office and asked them if they had any idea of what I should do. Well the owner Tim came down even though the office closed at 8pm, and went to our camper and picked up the battery so he could charge it (he had a battery charger in his garage) and then dropped it off the next morning! He saved us from hours of having to manually jack up our camper and it was truly above and beyond. What a great place run by wonderful people. read more

The staff here is kind and super helpful. They were also accommodating when we had a mix up with check out time. They have great options for renting a cabin or just a space for your tent. The facilities were very clean and the showers had hot water. Appreciated having some WiFi access near the main building and a game room to play billiards and old school arcade games as well. First time campers spoiled forever at Wagon Trail Campground As campers we love to share our passion but it's a risk. Taking first time campers out is a responsibility. If you neglect essentials and things go bad, you may turn newbi's off camping out for the rest of their lives! Not a problem at Wagon Trail Campground. My only worry here is that my guests future expectations will never be met by another campground the way they were at Wagon Trail. Firstly, the reservation process was efficient, communicative and friendly. Upon arrival, we noticed immaculately raked camp spots with the essentials, picnic table, fire ring and power and water on site- in our case. The campground store was stocked well beyond necessity offering a free coffee a day and granola shooters. There is also a game room with free to use (and borrow) board games, pool table and video game machines for a small fee. Adjacent to the game room is a cozy hang out lodge with books and even a piano! Recreation area offers Bocci Ball, Playground and Badminton as well as rustic adirondack chairs for just kickin it. The MOST impressive thing, and there were many- were the shower rooms next to the camp shop. Brand new, spotless and maintained constantly with an attractive sleek but rustic design. Shower stalls are new and gleeming with wand heads, should you prefer. Thoughtfully, a fan is placed on the floor during heavy use periods to avoid slippage. Now a minute about the lost art of customer service. We made the epic mistake of assuming (you know the word breakdown lol) and left a tent behind. We had a late set up and were virtually planning on building a lean to for the night-in a very wet thunder storm .Went to owner Kathy for info on purchasing a tent nearby and she said "we have a tent that was left behind by a customer-haven't set it up for a while but it's yours to use if you need it" Problem solved in an instant. Amazing! The only thing I would say is if you plan on partying, listening to music and raging into that dark night, camp somewhere else. There is a strictly enforced (yes, we had a visit from Tim the camp supervisor) radio silence at 10pm and fires out at midnight. Fair enough. It's a family place. Under rated campground. Clean level heavily wooded sites with more privacy than any campground I've been. excellent facilities and bathroom. Staff was very helpful accommodating our needs. This place is a GREAT little get away! The sites are very clean and secluded enough from each other to give you a nice private feeling. It's a very family friendly area that allows dogs, bonus!! Fire pits, grill and picnic tables are at every campsite which is very nice. They also have water fill up stations near by! The restrooms and showers are very clean. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided us with plenty of information on what there is to do near by. There are some easy trails right off the camp ground and plenty of other great ones a short drive away. read more

Very clean and quiet campground. Camp sites (tent and RV) are wooded and kept very clean. Bathrooms/showers were always extremely clean. Camp HQ's had a very nice lounge area and video games for the kids. If your looking for a camping area that is more secluded in the Door County area this is the place for you. Should I ever head back to the area I would choose this campground again over the more crowded State Parks. read more
