So i visited bainbridge about a week ago for my eye need's and glasses. Great Doctor, but here's were it get tricky. i bought a pair of raybans my insurance covers 20% off and an extra $100 off the glasses i believe cost $300 So i recieved $100 off made it $200 then recieved 20% off the $200 came down to $160 sounds "GOOD" "NOT" Why not give me and every customer the best deal to keep us as customers. 20% off the $300 first = $240 then take the $100 off +$140 so they do this to just 5 costumers thats an extra $100 they make. I wonder if these insurance companies are aware of this scam.. LOOK OUT AND ASK THIS QUESTION CALL YOUR INSURANCE. I KNOW I WILL. read more

I bought three pairs of glasses a year and a half ago that were quite expensive, but I spent the money knowing how important eye care is. The total cost was over $2,500. Today, I brought back one of the pairs for repair and a male representatives basically dismissed me & said there is nothing that can be done. He took my insurance card and pretty much forgot about me. He gave it to reception and they held onto it. About 20 minutes later as the representative worked on something else, I had to ask for my card back and he was pretty rude about it. Basically it was a case of what have you done for me lately. The selection of frames here is quite nice! That's why they get 2 stars. The second star is for being so conveniently located inside of Montefiore's lobby - right across the lobby from the busy eye care clinic. This must bring them lots of business. But it doesn't seem so from how they conduct business. The first time I tried to bring them business they were closed despite the fact that it was during the workweek and after 9:00 AM, and the hours stated on the door said that they should I have already opened up shop. Keeping inconsiateny hours has gotta hurt your bottom line. Maybe that's why the saleswoman who was there the second time I came by seemed so desperate. Or maybe it's because she just has bad business practices in general. When we got there she was talking in Spanish with a group of people whom she may have already assisted. I only mention the language because I think she thought no one could understand her speaking in this obscure, unknown tongue and that I would never be aware that they were ignoring me and my mother just to talk about some great gospel concert and the CD that the group had made. ¿Hablas Español? ¡Por supuesto! Vivo en Nueva York, mija. But we waited patiently and eventually she acknowledged us. My mother had picked out a few frames and pointed out the 50% off sign in the shop. But apparently this sales woman thought we were illiterate as well as monolingual) - or at least math challenged because she was telling us higher prices that the tags on the eyeglass frames. Eventually I asked if she'd had HERE eyes checked. It had gotten so ridiculous. We'd found 2 frames that my mother wanted to buy but this sales woman, who repeatedly kept walking away from us to talk to yet another person who has stopped in only to chat, decided to put on the full court press. Rather than giving us her full attention, she kept talking to her friend, then turning to us to do a fast-talking up-sell on everything we looked at. Then when I asked about the numbers, she pulled out a large calculator, talked super fast and refused to let us see what she was inputting. She just quoted numbers and hid the calculator. It was bizarre. So I pulled out my cell phone calculator and asked her to slowly go through the math. Of course it turned out lower. But she was not thwarted by that. She then tried to sell my mother everything but undercoating. And she never bothered to hide her condescension, telling us "I've been doing this for 30 years. I know what I'm doing!" OK. You must be proud. Finally the insulting treatment had gone on so long that even though we had decided that we wanted to buy the 2 pairs of glasses, we didn't want to buy them from someone so disrespectful and slippery. We fifured we'd come back. So I tried to take a picture of the frames so I would know what to ask for even we returned. She literally snatched then from me and told me I was taking the picture wrong. I finally told her that she needed to chill out. That she had lost a sale that was a certain thing by being controlling and manipulative. She made some comment about me wanting to take a picture only in order to find a better price. I hadn't even thought of that. But thanks for the suggestion. I just wanted to come back there when someone else was working. After all of that we went to an entirely different chain and ordered 2 pairs of glasses that costs more. It wasn't a matter of not being able to afford it. It was about wanting to be treated with respect. Too bad Snr. Bad Service blew it. This were nice frames. So glad my mother didn't go alone. read more

The only good thing about this place is the eye doctor, that's it. The service there is so slow extremely long wait times (even with an appointment). The sales persons have condescending attitudes they even put you on hold for upwards of 20 mins. I've been waiting for my glasses since late July it is now late Sept. I've been calling every 2 weeks and get the run around and give the same response "Due to COVID your insurance company lab is delayed" We will call you. Today I called my insurance company Bainbridge Optical DID NOT order my glasses until Sept 1st. And after calling the insurance company myself Bainbridge says that my glasses have been ready for a week and they have been calling me. That's just utter bullshit they have not called and I have the call logs to prove it. GO THERE JUST FOR EYE DOCTOR ONLY, GET YOUR GLASSES ELSEWHERE! read more

Walked into this optical on a busy Saturday and I was out the door in less than 90 minutes, service was speedy and friendly. They definitely try to upsell you on things but that's their job. They have modern tools and were great in helping me get my new contacts. Had a great experience, the doctor was also super nice, he did also try to upsell me though which I've never seen before but I guess it may be common. read more

The location is easy to find. Parking is good. The staff is nice, but I did need to speak first to get help. The young lady asked if I had an appointment and I responded no ..the rep I'd spoken with the day before told me to come between 11-1, no appointment necessary. I've been here about 35 minutes and haven't been seen. I am going to leave. read more

This business is committing Medicaid fraud. They told my son the only glasses his insurance covered had a $560.00 copay. Then when he asked for a copy of his prescription to shop elsewhere, they gave him an incomplete prescription and will not give him a corrected prescription without an other exam which they will double-bill for. They are scammers!! read more

When I first came into the optical to get new glasses for me and my daughter they mixed up our prescriptions and ended up putting my prescription in her glasses, and when I asked to get both our prescriptions so that we can get our glasses elsewhere they gave us someone else's prescriptions. After thinking I decided to give them another chance and went back to the optical. This time they correctly checked my daughters vision. After ordering the glasses, I waited and waited and.....waited for them to call me back to pick up the glasses. After a month I called them to ask them what had happened to the order. They said they couldn't remember me ordering glasses and it turns out they never ordered them in the first place! Terrible service, do not recommend coming here. In addition to the optical does not have a nice variety of glasses frames. read more
