I had a disappointing experience at Eye Care Unlimited on Crosby Avenue in the Bronx. I ordered polarized sunglasses with dark gray lenses, but when I picked them up, the lenses were not what I ordered. They appeared brown instead of dark gray, and the left lens was noticeably blurry. When I brought this to the clerk's attention, I was told to wear the glasses for two weeks to "get used to them." I explained that I wasn't comfortable doing that because the left lens was blurry and requested that the lenses be remade. Instead of addressing my concerns, the clerk insisted that I see the doctor again to review my prescription, even though I had my eye exam only 10 days earlier. I declined because I didn't believe another exam was necessary. The clerk then became rude and told me he was going to make a note on my account that I "refused to see the doctor." He also warned me that I would not be allowed to have the lenses changed again. I found this response unprofessional and felt that I was being pressured rather than helped. To the store's credit, the issue with the glasses was eventually resolved. The replacement lenses were the correct dark gray color, and the left lens was no longer blurry. However, I told the clerk that I felt he owed me an apology for the way he had treated me during the process. He refused to apologize. While I appreciate that the glasses were ultimately corrected, the poor customer service and lack of professionalism made what should have been a simple warranty correction into a frustrating experience. I hope management takes customer concerns more seriously and treats future customers with greater courtesy and respect. read more

I was running 5 minute late to my appointment. I called 5 minutes before my appointment time to inform them that I was going to be 5 minutes late and they told me that they would not accommodate me and canceled my appointment. This seems a little overly strict, especially since I had called ahead to let them know. I would give zero stars for customer service if I could. read more

One star because I cannot give them less! The worst customer service ever! After been paid the glasses and wait for more than one week for them, Eye Care unlimited called em asking to talk to my insurance because they have problem with their system and they don't know how to solve it. And how supposedly I'm gonna help? Anyway I called and I gave them the information from my insurance. After that they called again but they continue having problems with the system so they said they are gonna mail the documentation and wait for an answer and then they will start making the glasses. WAIT A MINUTE, it that mean that I'm gonna wait one month before having my glasses? YES. I asked for refund and they said they don't do refund so I have to wait. As I said, the worst customer service ever. Please, if you know other places, go there, for sure you will no have worst service. read more

After having to deal, with SIGHT n STYLE, located on FORDHAM RD., in the Bronx. I was looking for an eye care location, that actually UNDERSTOOD Customer Service. Not just a store, that relied on cultural secular ideology, and people never leaving the hood, in order for the store, to receive the majority of their business. I will do my best; to NEVER return to SIGHT n STYLE. I am so glad that I found, EYE CARE UNLIMITED. Even though I have to take a train, and then wait for the bus, to get to the location. Its really a benefit; because I know most people, from the hood, won't travel that far. So I'll only deal with working class people, with common sense. I was referred to this location; after intially going to EYE CARE UNLIMITED's other location, at Crosby Avenue. Once I informed Virgil; that I was using Medicaid, he called the Morris Park Avenue location, and set up an appointment, for me. I went to this Morris Park Location; and was treated VERY professionally, and in a very courteous manner. Even though I walked in, looking like Michael J. Fox, in TEEN WOLF. I hadn't had my hair cut yet. I met with Dr. Annette Contento, and she was quite delightful. I went through my eye test, she put drops on my pupils, and we conversed back and forth about life in general. Once she got the results back, from my eye exam; she walked me through, what actually CAUSES my lazy eye. In my now 36 years, and through all of the Optometrists, that I was visited; Mrs. Contento, has been the ONLY Optometrist, who actually told me what causes the problem, and how to take proactive measures to address the issue. Personally; I like having the information, to know how to solve a problem, at its root. And she did that for me. I will be a customer, for as long as possible. This is the type of quality service; that customer should come to expect, from ANY and ALL businesses, that they patronize. Kudos, to Dr Annette Contento, and her staff. They are TRUE PROFESSIONALS! read more

I thought i reviewed them years ago, but here it goes again. I've been coming here 5, 6, 7 years? Who knows, but its been a while because if i revisit a business, they're doing something good. I'm picky!! This place is the best. Absolutely. The girls at the front desk meet and greet you in such a special way, you think y'all chill together. They're very, very nice, down to earth and keep it real with you. You're given the most thorough eye exam that its amazing. You're put on a machine that reminds you of a video game because you have to click the controller everything you see a flashing spot. It's cool. Then you're examined by the doctor, Contento. She's mad cool too. She sits and chat while examining you and not tryna rush you out. All in all, as you can see, I love this place. Even when I can't see. Lol Oh, and they be trying to sell you glasses you don't look good in!!!!! read more

I usually do not write a review but about a month ago I went to eyecare unlimited and was seem by doc c. He was knowledgeable and helped me big time. He explained everything in layman's terms that I appreciated. Then his assistant ran test. His assistant Theresa was also knowledgeable and was patient and calmed my nerves. In helping me pick out my glasses and fitting she was excellent and knowledgeable. I also liked the fact she was so good wit my son who is a fidigety kid. I have been a patient at Eye Care Unlimited on Morris Park for many years. The staff is amazing especially Jessica, Megan & Ersen. They're always professional and friendly. I also like how very patient and understanding they are, especially when I can't decide on a pair of glasses. Dr. Annette Contento is the best. My 71 year old father with cancer never had to wear glasses in his life we filled the prescription in our neighborhood local place the salesman told us to get the trifocals with no lines if it didn't work we could return it for a bifocal and we would be reimbursed for the $200 difference of the more expensive glasses when we went to return it within the 30 days they told us they never said that so we were very disappointed with their service read more

I walked in here looking for help with my glasses, and the staff here was able to sort me out, with a smile. Its a small practice, all the staff is friendly very knowledgeable. The wait time for the patients with appointments was minimal. I hear one of set staff member call 3 people, insurance stuff, just so that the patient would have the cheapest rate possible. You do get that everywhere, especially in the bronx. I would highly recommend this place to someone. I want to say her name was Meagan, I could be wrong on this, but she was awesome! I recently went to eye care unlimited with a groupon I had purchased months ago. The staff there was very friendly and nice. One girl in particular, Meagan, was extremely pleasant and professional. She helped me pick out really nice frames, and recommended I also add the anti-glare, which I'm so glad I did. Although I did not see the eye doctor (I bought in an old prescription) I will definitely recommend Eye Care Unlimited. They have great staff and a great selection of frames! read more

Dr Contento is the best. I was always nervous to get my eyes checked for some reason even though I have perfect vision. Dr Contento makes sure to explain everything that she sees so that you understand. She's the best! read more

While living in the Bronx, I went to see Dr. Annette for an eye exam. The exam was fine; however, when it was time for me to pick out glasses, I was forced to pick frames I did not like and they were more expensive than the ones I really wanted; knowing I didn't have insurance, she didn't care. She kept insisting that she would not sell me the pair I wanted and that I wasn't leaving until I picked the ones she wanted. I only needed a mild prescription for driving glasses; however, she insisted I needed reading glass too (which I don't!). She wouldn't let me leave until I bought the driving glasses and reading glasses - again, the more expensive ones! She is also notorious for showing up late - 45 minutes late to be exact!
