I was staying at a VRBO property and was recommended this location. It has a small sitting area but it was full when I arrived. I ordered take-out sushi and thai stir fry with chicken. The order was prepared quickly. The portions were enough for me to eat it over three days. The spice level at 2-3 on the stir fry was perfect, good heat and flavor without losing taste. From the road it doesn't look like much but never judge a book by its cover. This is some of the best sushi I have ever had. This has become a mainstay restaurant that I must go to with my family and take friends to when they visit. Went there on Monday July 27th for afternoon carryout. This was our first time getting carry out. Last two times we ate in and it was delicious this time was not as good. We had chicken tempura, chicken with drunken noodles and beef pad thai. The chicken tempura was kind of soggy. The chicken with drunken noodles was okay but not as good as the last two times we had it there. But the beef pad thai I could only eat about a quarter of it and I chucked it. Don't know if they have a new kitchen chef or just he was having a bad day. Will probably go back for sushi but the quality of the noodle dishes was not good. The vegetables tasted like they were pretty old when they tried to cook them. The beef pad tie tasted like it had burnt garlic in it and it was very sour. The noodles just didn't seem as good as they were before and they didn't have a savory flavor like they did before. read more

Yummy food again tonight. Every item delicious and gorgeously plated. A couple of things I noticed tonight: 1. Service is excellent! My glass never got below half full. Server and other staff checked in frequently but were never intrusive. 2. This place is spotless - everywhere. There is only one restroom but it is super clean. Came in just as the tourists are in for the season and noticed some beautiful renovations were done as well as a specials list and updated menu. However, what has not changed is the wonderful service and smiling faces. On to the food, it's never been a disappointment and continues to not disappoint. Tonight we ordered the Seafood Combo Curry special, the Hurricane roll and a classic chicken pad Thai. The seafood combo was luscious with its spicy notes and fresh aftertaste of lemongrass in the plentiful pieces of lobster tail, king crab, large shrimp and scallops. The hurricane roll was a delightful burst of contrasting flavors and textures. The mango slices bounced off the spicy mayo topping, creating a spicy bite with pieces of tempura flakes creating a savory crunch against the salty popping of fish roe. The rainbow of fish was fresh and held all of the contrasting tastes and textures together. The classic pad Thai was good and not greasy with a generous portion of chicken and the mix of bean sprouts and noodles was even in every bite. We have ordered the pad Thai for takeout but it always tastes better at the restaurant. I'm looking forward to our next visit read more

Without a doubt the best Sushi in town! Again coming from Los Angeles we are spoiled with amazing Sushi and we're having a hard time finding a great slot here in Venice or even Sarasota for that matter we even went as far as Tampa and St Pete to try some "5" star places and were disappointed as well. Who knew that 2 miles from out house would have the best sushi around! Lol! Only downfall is it's very small and hard to get a table and park but we bring it home and feast on it. Never disappoints. Also the quality of the fish is waaaay higher than the prices that they charge. Sidebar: I parked in front of the Bada-bing pizza place for a quick second to pick up my order and, I'm pretty sure, the owner personally came out to tell me that they were going to tow me. Food is always fresh and delicious! Beautiful presentation. It's like enjoying art while eating. I tried lunch combo for 2 days in a row. You can get 1 choice of sushi and 1 choice of Thai food on their special lunch menu. So far I've tried Chicken Pad Thai + Tempura Shrimp Roll and Chicken Panang Curry + Tempura Shrimp Roll. Only $12.95 for a combo and the portion is enough for 2 meals. And they tastes like heavennnn!!! Not to mention that staffs are super nice and friendly! The sashimi portion was more generous and better than I dared hope. The yellowtail was good, but the salmon was probably the best I have had since the former Vizen changed ownership. I am not that much a fan of salmon, but I must acknowledge it was good. The wife's Thai they managed to mostly honor our request to bring the heat. It didn't have the heavy dose of sugar that some of the other Thai places here throw in. --We know this is a difficult topic, as the owner of the oldest Thai place in the area confessed that customers had wanted it sweeter--. The meat had a bit of grilled smoke on it that pleasantly surprised us. The service was flawless. She was quite the Jedi, just in time nimbly handling the diners and not missing a beat. The only issue with Baiyoke is limited parking. Otherwise, this is a small business operating very clean with good portions, good taste, at fair price. read more

We have had Thai food at restaurants in Port Charlotte, Sarasota and Venice This was our first visit to Baiyoke Thai Bistro and it did not disappoint us. Service was fast and both of our entrees tasted fresh and very flavorful. The ginger stir fried was very good. We also tried there Pad Thai and we both agree it was the best we have had down here so far. We will be back because the quality, service and interesting menu makes us want too! read more

After reading several glowing reviews, we did takeout here tonight. I would almost think we went to the wrong restaurant, but nope. Maybe they weren't really ready to serve us at 5:15. Maybe they had a substitute in the kitchen. But whatever happened? We got our two orders of soup home and had to cook it for a few minutes just to be able to chew the nearly-raw vegetables. The rice paper rolls were tasteless except for the peanut sauce. And yes, I know what they're supposed to taste like. This was rice paper wrapped around lettuce and carrots. No other flavors. The Drunken Noodles were level 2 for heat, but they were much spicier. Sadly despite the heat, they were flavorless. We also ordered green curry, but we're saving that for tomorrow. However I'll say that we thought when looking at the container that they'd given us more soup by accident. It's the consistency of water. I'm assuming this was an anomaly, but I'll never know because I won't go back. I hope that someday we'll find a really good Thai restaurant in this area, but in the meantime, I'd be happy with mediocre. Baiyoke didn't meet that standard tonight. read more
