Just got done with dinner. The boss had her usual pad Thai and I had the hit Thai basil duck. The pad Thai was generous with protein and the noodles were properly cooked. It had the right amount of sweetness and the boss really enjoyed her meal. My basil duck was really good. The sauce was sweet and the peppers and basil with the duck was terrific. The ends of the cut duck had a more crispy skin because it wasn't covered with sauce. The rest of the duck had less crispy skin but that was because it was covered with sauce. But that was no issue because the flavors were excellent. Service is slow tonight because there was only one person servicing 8 tables, doing take out orders and taking orders on the phone. The food is wonderful. It is fresh and high quality. The service for carry out is not good. We have ordered carry out 7-8 times. They tell us it will be ready at a certain time. We go to pick it up and it is not only not ready, but we have to wait 30-40 more minutes until it is ready. They always say how busy they are and they do appear to be busy. But, there is only one person in the kitchen and one person waiting tables and taking care of the carryout orders. They clearly need more help. Can they not find help? Or can they not afford more help? Or do they not want to pay for more help? Whatever the reason, it makes us think twice about ordering from there when we want carry out for dinner. The only glaring flaw at this place is the absurdly long wait times you must endure due to them over-prioritizing the takeout orders over the sit-down orders. Had to wait 2 full hours for 4 dishes to come out because of this. It was unbelievably annoying seeing people with takeout orders immediately get their food while we had to sit down and do nothing for what felt like forever. Edit: Upon further contemplation, I'm not entirely sure if the reason it took so long for the food to get ready was because of the takeout orders. We did take out for this place. Our order came to $44. I left a tip of approximately six dollars. But they put a $20 tip onto our bill. So look out for these people it was just pick up. Not exceptional at all, as we have several other Thai restaurants in our area that produce much better food. No tableware even after they served both of our lunches, and my husband had to wait, while his food got cold and they served me a meal which came later as the first service was not what I ordered. My husband's cashew chicken was very mediocre, and the fried rice appeared almost pure white. This is, by far, the best Thai resturant in the entire area. We have eaten in twice and ordered for pick up twice. The food is always fresh and tasty and the owners are very nice people who try their very best to appease every request for special orders and changes to their standard menu.
