Beers were cold. That is the only positive thing I can say. Grilled chicken salad had zero seasoning on the chicken, not even salt and pepper. Shrimp wrap was steamed shrimp, no seasoning at all. Right on the water, the deck overlooks the yachts at the docks, and you get a beautiful view while you enjoy live music and great bartenders serving up refreshing beverages with a smile. That was really important , the fact that the people working there were happy! That's hard to find anymore! I will never go back here!!! The bartenders are complete douchebags. They try to hit on your girls. They think they are in the movie Cocktail. Complete losers they are. Food is good. Bands are good. Don't expect this place to be fancy, because it definitely isn't. It's a nice spot for a fun dinner by the water, with music playing, people drinking, and lots of dancing. The access to the pool is also great. You can get an alcoholic beverage and take it out to the pool from what I've seen. Tonight, I ordered the philly cheese steak with a side of coleslaw and some cheese sticks. The Philly cheese steak was pretty good. Meat was a bit too dry and a little tough, but the flavor was fine. They use an adequate amount of peppers and mushrooms (I ordered it without onion). It did take quite some time to be made and was brought out at the same time as the appetizer. The portion size was pretty decent, but for $14, they could have definitely done better. It was just okay. I did enjoy their coleslaw. It has a sweet flavor and comes with the perfect amount of dressing so it's not too try. Apparently it's made with vinegar, but I couldn't really taste that. You can choose to get fries as a side too. Their mozzarella cheese sticks were bland and just not great. They taste very similar to standard grocery store bought mozzarella sticks. And for almost $10 an appetizer (and with a somewhat small portion) it's definitely not worth it. I'm guess most if not all of their appetizers are subpar and overpriced. The atmosphere is interesting. They often have bands playing, but today, there was a DJ. If that's something you enjoy, maybe check this place out, but it does get somewhat loud and crowded at the bar. Most of the patrons are seniors, so you will almost surely see some older couples rocking out on the dance floor (it's quite the scene). In general, you'll get some nice views and quick access to the pool when dining here. However, it can be loud and uncomfortable, and it's definitely not upscale. From what I know, you don't need to be a member of the Yacht Club to dine here. Good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors. The food is standard but overpriced. read more

I was at this establishment for the first time ever this past Saturday evening 05/31/2025. I paid the $10 cover charge upon entering. I bought a drink and gave the bartender at the main bar 30% tip too. I danced for a while. About an hour later I ordered one last drink the same way as the first time. I put the drink on a table not far from the dance floor. It was about 11:00 pm or so by then. After again dancing for a while, I went back to the table and the nearly full drink cup was totally gone, along with some napkins that I had placed there. Apparently a staff member had simply picked it all up and discarded it. It was about 11:45 pm by then. I went over to the bartender at the small bar in the corner and told him of my situation. I was a bit sweaty and definitely thirsty by then after having been dancing. The bartender did not apologize at all. I asked for another drink to replace the one I had paid for. (apparently in their rush to clean the place up so that they could get out of their shift very quickly, they just decided to dump it.) There were other patrons that I was not with who were still at the table, as the establishment was still fully open. The bartender said that there was nothing he could do for me: No replacement drink, no refund, nothing. Just essentially "too bad, so sad" was the attitude. In essence, I spent $20 there, and the establishment removed from my wallet an additional $10 for nothing in return. The amount is not a big deal. The attitude and patterns of how the employees do and say things there to their customers, however, is. I am certain that I am not the first person that has had this happen to them. A spoiler to cap off an otherwise enjoyable evening. PS ...The band Dancing Queen was epic. read more

Came here to hear live music from Jill West and Blues Attack. Loved outdoor setup under roof cover but open air. Music and food did not disappoint. I ordered a fried fish sandwich and fries. What else should I have ordered being the setting is on a marina? The fish was much bigger than the bun. Why is that the norm of restaurants?? Anyway, it was good and hit the spot as did the music. The crowd was mostly an elderly crowd, many of them dancing the entire time and having a great time. I would come here again. read more

Invited to meet some family here for lunch one Friday. It's a beautiful location with a great view from both an inner dining room and outdoor bar area. I looked through the menu and there was really every type of salad, sandwich and app you could want on a hot day by the water so that was great news! Our group got the fish sand which, burgers, turkey BLT, chicken Caesar salad, hot dog, and I got the stuffed banana pepper app as my main course. Everyone's portion was large and delicious for sure. Fries were nice and thin and well cooked (but not fresh cut) and everyone had great things to say about their meals. I try to get something new when I go out so these banana peppers peaked my interest. They were hot and tasty - I don't have a clue how to or why someone would order them as an appetizer but I was happy with the portion for lunch. My mistake was to order them on a hot day but i still ate every bite cuz they were delicious and the garlic cheese toast was yum! The downside held a few shortcomings: 1: there is no side salad replacement for fries. 2: there are no umbrellas for the outside patio tables 3: all drinks are served in small disposable plastic cups - I mean ALL OF them: cocktails, sodas, beers, water - EVERYTHING. I didn't pick up the bill but having cups that size and stability wasn't the best. Would I come back? Yes. There's a great view, big menu, fun music and I assume affordable drinks since they come in such small cups - but next time I'll bring hats and sunscreen. I hope they invest in a few umbrellas and some more substantial cutlery/cups - they would probably keep the drinks colder and then people will stay longer cuz it's the little things that make a place shine. read more

Located at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club (boat marina + pool) where my friend docks her boat there. I had little idea what to expect. There were 8 in our party on a gorgeous Friday evening in June. No one was sitting inside which has two sections. The outside was equally large. We arrived before 7 o'clock and paid a $10 cover as there was a live band playing starting at 8 o'clock. You must get there early to grab a table or even a seat at the bar! By the time we left, the parking lot was full and cars were parked in the street as overflow. I had no idea this place was so popular with a decidedly older crowd (50+), we were just looking to hang out by the water. Absolutely nothing fancy about the menu nor the plastic tables and chairs. And very casual dress though some folks chose to dress up. The staff was absolutely doing their best and didn't seem very experienced. It took quite a while to get our food but we weren't in a rush. And I wasn't too keen on eating there to begin with as it's not my sort of menu for dinner. For the age appropriate crowd, this is quite the night out scene! read more

A decent place in Fox Chapel. There is plenty of parking. They have a large indoor space that could use a little bit of an update but it does have a nice view. They have a large outdoor bar which is nice. They weren't too busy this afternoon, the staff was friendly and the service was good. One of our beers was flat. The food was fine but a bit overpriced. I'd say worth a visit for the atmosphere, the yacht club is definitely not your typical Pittsburgh place. read more

Met some friends on a Saturday night to listen to a band. I haven't been here in years....but not much has changed...cheap outdoor seating, worn decking but still a great outdoor spot. Service was fine no complaints. Draft list boring but drinks not overly expensive. Band was great, playlist very enjoyable. Now for the main event....the people watching. This place is almost surreal...it's the most eclectic collection of people under one roof I've ever witnessed. I'd guess ages ranged from mid 20s to 80s (not joking). If you are an avid people watcher...it's a must because no words could do it justice. My head was on a swivel the entire evening. Lots of elderly tearing up the dance floor, people dressed like they were hitting a dance club in the city, the real housewives of FC in the mix, lots of Steeler jerseys and Pirate hats, it's just a fun mess! I will say people were happy and having a good time. The 4-stars is definitely for the people. read more

I live near by and really enjoy the outside bar. It has maybe the best setting for drinking outside, in the blawnox/sharpsburgh/fox chapel/aspinwall area. You are right by the river and music is generally good. It has room for a good amount of people. The only draw back is the food. It is pretty generic and mediocre, along with being over priced for that quality. For example the pizza is not good, but you'll pay more for it than a good pizza place in the area. It would be great if they could get better food so that it could be a great place to eat and not just a great place to drink. read more

Just started this summer going to the Baja for their outdoor bands....Great place for the 30 to 60 yr old crowd to enjoy live music and dancing. The entire bar staff is friendly and gets drinks out quickly, even with the large crowds...Aaron and Tony behind the outside bar are awesome !!! Went here on a Friday night with my woman, I could tell right away that we would be waiting awhile because there was only 2 servers working. Long wait I'm okay with because I had my beer. Fast forwarding to the food, my woman orders a cod filet sandwich while I order the chicken bruschetta sandwich. Wait about 45 min for the food and here comes her fish sandwich it looks incredible and taste very good. Then here comes my sandwich and here's where I lose it. My sandwich comes out and the top bun is still frozen! At this point I'm fed up and I just ask for the check but I tell the server I'm not paying for the chicken sandwich. I checked this place out on a Saturday night with some friends. Takeaways from my experience here: 1) It's located in the Fox Chapel Yacht Club, which might make you think that it's a fancypants place. It's not. Plastic tables and chairs, outdated decor, typical bar fare, unimpressive beer list. 2) They have an outdoor deck and bar located right on the marina, so you can dine/drink al fresco with lovely views of the river. 3) The food is not great. We got a BBQ chicken pizza, which was drenched in generic, Sysco-style BBQ sauce, with barely-melted (and not nearly enough) cheese, and limited amounts of chicken. Our friends enjoyed their food though (a turkey BLT and cheeseburger), so maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. 4) Service was friendly and attentive. Our drinks were flowing all night. 5) They have live entertainment on most weekends and charge a cover. 6) The clientele that this place draws after dark is amazing. Lots of mullets, incredible Pittsburgh hair, men with shirts unbuttoned and chest hair a'flyin, cougars in leopard-print dresses... 7) The average age of the patrons here is 55+. 8) This place turns into a giant frat party for the oldsters after 9pm. I'm talking elderly twerking and pole dancing....and no, I am not exaggerating. It's impossible to look away. 9) Because of #'s 6, 7, and 8, this was one of the most fun nights out I've had in awhile. The people watching doesn't get any better than this....and thus the basis for my 4 (generous) stars. read more

Group of 20 of us went to celebrate a birthday, 11/24/18, grabbed two tables paid $7 each to get in, ordered lots of drinks and lots of food, kept putting money in tip jar, all great, spending total of $500+, asked if we could bring in a dozen cup cakes for the birthday girl and told it was not permitted, offered no alternatives, no maybes, nothing. This place is habitually understaffed on nights with a band playing. I come here every other Friday, payday ritual. There's more staff on a Friday night with no band. I don't know if workers call off on busy nights or management doesn't expect the crowds... But the nights that bands are there had been horrible for the last two summers. read more

My husband, 10 month old and I were looking for a place to have dinner outside on the river on a beautiful Friday evening. We came across the listing for the Baja Grill and thought that it was right up our ally! We arrived around 8:00 and asked for a table outside on the deck. The waitress had us pick any table and brought a highchair over to us. A table close to us had two small kids as well. We ordered pretty quickly, easy and simple fare. A chicken quesadilla, shrimp wrap and a side salad. 45 minutes of waiting and our waitress returned to tell us that the kitchen was swamped and our food was almost ready. What she really should have said is she completely forgot to put in our order because it took another 15 minutes to arrive. Not 5 minutes into us eating one of the waitresses came over and said to us, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but kids are not allowed here after 7:30". We were not even finished eating!! The table with kids right next to us had just finished and were just leaving (past curfew as well I guess). So first of all we had been seated with a high chair after our cutoff hour (by a member of their staff I would think?!) and then we could have been long gone if our bar food hadn't taken an hour to be delivered. I'm not sure if she wanted us to ask for a box or what, but it was absolutely ridiculous! I will never give them service or recommend them to anyone! The view is perfect, the food is decent however the customer service is horrendous. Bartender by the name of Kayla waited on me twice now. The first time she told me I couldn't barrow a pen because she only had 2, also told me she couldn't get me a specific beer bc the tap was out and she was gonna wait till the next bartender changed it out (the next bartender came 2 hrs later), then at the end of her shift asked if I was gonna stay a while or not- I told I her I was staying- she then still brought me my check. The male bartender after her was phenomenal def picked up her slack.
