The lomito was HUGE, like almost the size of my head, and super tender and flavorful. The empanadas were crispy and really well filled too. The guy working there was super nice, we ended up chatting for a bit about Chile and it just made the whole experience feel really welcoming. Definitely going back. read more

Wife suggested going here for lunch today....I had THE BEST tasting pork loin sandwich I have found in years!!! Also, it is HUGE!!! Love the vibes! Nestled in South Park Grocery, they section off a little part of Chile/Argentina- Opened 3 years ago. Rodrigo, presumed owner, is super nice and friendly. He reports making his own buns from scratch. Food- homey good! Everything made from scratch. Chacarerro- flavor is on point! Appreciate the style of cutting of green beans. There are opportunities to up level (adding roasted bell peppers, cheese on the Chacarero, and tenderizing the beef more). Lomo Al Jugo is the right balance of fat on the pork, and juicy. I asked for light garlic aoili which was good. The guacamole just squeezing out messy yummy. He has a variety of empanadas, some dessert and other sandwiches to explore. You'll find Bajón en Seattle inside the corner store with its own little section that has seating as well. It's quaint, and the owner will kindly greet you as you come in. I love snacking on an empanada, and heard this was the place to go while in this part of Seattle. I came about an hour before closing, so a lot of the empanadas are leftover from earlier in the day kept under the heat lamp rather than a fresh batch, which I can understand. So when I ordered one beef and one cheese, they were both tasty but a little stale than what you would get fresh. The owner also asked if I wanted a little salsa cup, which really added to the flavour of the empanadas. Next time I'll have to come much earlier for a better taste of the empanadas among the other dishes they have here. I plan to come back real soon, it's such a joy to support these small businesses out in South Park. read more

Near is the pork loin. Far is the beef with shredded green beans on top. These are large(!), freshly made sandwiches with all the trimmings. The sandwich bread is worth a visit alone imho. I'm born and raised Seattle and this is possibly the best sandwich I've had in the city. The pork loin was our favorite but both are YUM! read more

We tried this place because it was part of Plate of Nations. To be honest, I'm not sure we would have stopped if it wasn't part of Plate of Nations, but now we can't wait to go back. The restaurant is in a large convenience store. There are some tables but seating can be limited. The owner and I think his daughter were working behind the counter and they were so friendly! The convenience store clerk also was really nice and gave the restaurant high praise. They get their ingredients fresh and so it wasn't a surprise that they were out of French fries, but that was okay with us. The sandwich and empanadas were filling enough. We had beef and cheese empanadas. Both were delicious. The empanada dough was buttery and delicious, and the filling was great. I liked them both but my boyfriend's favorite was the cheese. The salsa they give you to eat with it was fresh and delicious and balanced the flavors of the empanadas nicely (it was kind of like Pico de gallo). We got the Churrasco Italiano sandwich (sliced beef that's grilled and seasoned, and it's topped with avocado, tomato, and a tasty Mayo). While it was a bit messy, it was absolutely delicious. We were licking our fingers as we are through it. It was one of the most flavorful sandwiches we have ever eaten. Don't let the outside of the building fool you. Go inside and try the food. It's delicious and worth it. We are looking forward to coming back and trying more things. read more

We dropped by yesterday and ordered the lomo al jugo and the sausage sandwich. While we waited for our meals, we enjoyed some very fresh, hot empanadas, one with spinach, one with beef. I got very excited when I read the review for their sandwiches in Sunday's seattletimes. I live in West Seattle so it was not a long drive. and the sandwich looked amazing. But my feeling was there were too many flavors, and I lost the taste of the pork, which was what I was most interested in. I ended up cutting the sandwich in half and scraping off all the sauces, everything except the meat, and I enjoyed the meat. But the sandwich as a whole didn't work for me. I created a Yelp account only because of the experience I had with this place. They participated on the Peruvian Festival near Portland, OR. We waited for 1.5 hours for 4 'completos'. They advertise that they made their bread daily, and that was the exciting part of getting these completos, but they used store-bought bread and offered no explanation. I contacted the owner to explain my experience and how they could improve, but he rapidly deflected the problems and decided to respond aggressively. I then asked for a refund, and he told me I would have to drive 3 hours to Seattle, on a date that was convenient for HIM so he could give me my money back. Wow! Three of us went there today; two had the pork sandwich and 1 had the beef with garlic mayo green beens (yep green beens and it was great) avocado sandwich. I don't know how they make that bread but it's fantastic. We also took home empanadas and I'm eating the mushroom one and love it. The atmosphere is super basic (it's in a grocery store) but it is easy to look past that with the owner being super friendly and extremely proud of his food which is made fresh for each customer.
