Drinks: Margaritas are fresh and clean, made with real fruit and peppers (not overly sweet with artificial syrups and sweeteners). Favorites: spicy margarita, watermelon, prickly pear, and yuzu serrano. Food: Complimentary guac is a great start. Standouts: fried egg chilaquiles, Mexican Caesar, and grilled chicken verde (comes with a big tray of salsas to share). Spicy lobster fideos were flavorful and worth trying, come with fried rice/noodle situation on hot plate. Would skip the avocado & corn, cauliflower steak and the tomato & watermelon salad next time. Chateau ZZ is absolutely stunning. From the moment you arrive, the entrance feels like you are stepping into a lush garden, setting the tone for a beautiful and elevated evening. The lounge is just as gorgeous and a great spot to enjoy a wine or mocktail while waiting. We were seated in the lounge for about 15 minutes even though the restaurant itself was empty, which was a bit puzzling. The service throughout the night was impeccable. The staff was warm, attentive, and very apologetic when things did not come out exactly right. My lamb chops were cooked well done instead of medium rare. I was not planning to reorder, but they insisted and offered to quickly prepare either prawns or fried fish. I chose the prawns and was content with the flavor of the three large prawns that followed. Overall, the food was very tasty and everyone at the table was happy with their dishes, including two young kids. The chicken was moist but a little bland. The ribeye steak was full of flavor. The spicy tuna was good, but the portion felt small for the price. Many of the dishes leaned very spicy. The only side we ordered was rice. They brought out warm tortillas that were light with a really nice flavor, and all of the sauces were delightful. The guacamole was delicious, though some felt it had a bit too much lemon. The octopus was the standout of the night and easily the best dish on the table. The pacing of the meal was slow and we were there for about two and a half hours. Everything felt overpriced in my opinion, averaging about $150 per adult for seven adults and two young children. The French Sauvignon Blanc was excellent. Others ordered beers and a passion fruit martini that they could not stop talking about. In the end, we all agreed the ambience and service were truly delightful and carried the experience. This restaurant is stunning and unique! I would recommend sitting in the solarium, the room with windows on all sides, but the main dining room is also beautiful. The star of the show for us was the chicken main entree. All main entrees come with a platter of delicious sauces and tortillas. The sauces were amazing!!! They wait for everyone to arrive to seat you. However, while you wait you can enjoy a drink at the bar. Upon being sat, there is marvelous service. The food was amazing but the service... oh boy. Our reservation was at 8:45 for a party of 9, we weren't seated until 9:30. After 20 minutes we were finally provided menus (after finding a server and asking). We waited 45 minutes for our drinks and an hour before any food got on the table. So time from reservation start to food on table was approaching 2 hours. They said they would give us guacamole since we had waited so long, but then they ended up charging us for it anyway. They also did not clear the empty plates throughout the service, so empty dishes kept stacking up as they brought out each course; I ended up stacking the dishes myself to clear the table. First, they were out of half the menu. Not kidding, every single thing I tried to order they were apparently out of. And none of it disclosed by the waiter ahead of time. Out of options and out of desperation, we ordered: Two tortilla soups - so spicy I was crying, only ate it because I was starving One porchetta to share - so fatty and dry, almost inedible Rice as a side was just so-so, too firm, not cooked enough. The sauces (or moles) were the best thing about the meal and that's just sad. Wine was ok. 20% mandatory gratuity added. Service friendly, but could have been better. Not sure why this place has less than a 4.5. Everything about this restaurant is to die for. We had the ribeye, arroz pilaf, calamari, and the pulpo. For drinks we had the frozen strawberry drink and the intro to mezcal (both amazing). There's always room for dessert so we had the churros. Those were massive! The service was top notch. They paid special attention to our dietary restrictions, made sure our glasses were full, clean the table periodically, explained the menu and gave us recommendations. What a dining experience to remember! The interior was so beautiful and the impeccable service and of course, delicious meals made it hard not to leave - we didn't want our experience to end! Would highly recommend the octopus starter - each bite is crunchy but soft and reminiscent of eating pepperoni or sausage with that kick of heat with the chili oil. The star of the show was really the Branzino - both sauces, rojo and verde, were absolutely delicious on their own and with the DIY salsas/taco pairings. A beautiful location - stunning all around - but this place is not worth the expense. The menu is quite limited, and most of the options are on the highest end of the spectrum. It also makes it harder to order when they are out of options (as they were with the pork dish). And when the food comes out, it is nice - but not worth the very high prices. Spicy margarita was nice, but also not worth $22. We enjoyed the meal, but we were not wow-ed. Service was plentiful, but to a fault. We requested a slow, enjoyable meal. Waiter said he would stage the meals so that they came out in sequence, and then none of that happened. Starters arrived together instead of separately, for instance. At other times, the constant attention felt a little too much like hovering. These were small dishes, so we ate slowly but were asked several times if we were ready to have our plates removed. It was almost too scripted and too forced - we just wanted to eat slowly and enjoy the meal. Sadly, I kept commenting about how our waiter annoyed me. He was a fake nice and didn't take care of us as we wanted to be taken care of. Add to it the expensive valet, and I just don't want to go back. You can have excellent Mexican food for a fraction of the price and with less of the service hassle. read more

Similar ambiance to all their other restaurants, with beautifully plated dishes, topped off with a sprinkle of hype. Price tag is up there. It is fine dining, so it needs to be kept in mind. After having one of the best dinners of my entire life at Chateau ZZ's, I was surprised to see some low reviews here. Both the food and service were on a next level of quality. We arrived at the valet and made our way up the beautiful romantically lit path to the door. We were greeted by a warm and intimate interior. After being immediately shown to our table, we were taken care of by the most personable team of waitstaff. After staff explained the menu and provided a few recommendations, we placed our order. The kitchen paced the meal perfectly -- We never felt rushed, and everything arrived at just the right time. The margaritas were stunning, the guacamole was tasty and smooth, and then came the ribeye al pastor -- WOW. Included were fresh tortillas and a platter of different sauces. The concept is to fill the tortilla with your meat and sauce, which ended up being heavenly. For dessert we of course had the churros which were hot, crispy, and perfectly fluffy on the inside. The only thing we weren't crazy about were the spicy tuna tostadas which seemed overpriced and not very exciting. Keep in mind that this is a very expensive restaurant, but the quality is there. I think a lot of the other lower reviews are from snobby "elitists". Nevertheless, I will be dreaming about this dinner for years to come, and it was truly a highlight of our vacation in Miami. We've been going to restaurants in Miami with our child for 6 years, and we've never had such a bad experience. We wanted to leave as soon as possible because the managers kept pressuring us and showing their dissatisfaction. The problem was that the dining room was completely empty -- we were the only guests there. Our child sat at the next table just to rest a bit, and they started speaking rudely and telling us to leave. Very rudely! They said we should move outside. Then our child got tired, and we moved two chairs from our own table for her to lie down -- and they said it wasn't allowed. They reacted negatively to everything our child did -- we were clearly annoying them. Later, they added items to the check that we never ordered. Secondly, $68 for a Tanqueray & Tonic and glass of Glenlivet Scotch???....then again, this is the same Major Food Group (MFG should stand for Mother Fkn Greedy) whose flagship restaurant, Carbone, sells bottles of Amarone starting at $400 and up (can get a decent/very good bottle elsewhere for $125-150). Beautiful dining areas with your typical post Covid Brickell and surrounding area peacock posers. We dropped $431 for two people, and the service was a complete joke. It felt like we were at a fast-food chain instead of what was supposed to be an upscale dining experience. Our waiter, Bashir, greeted us with a casual "okay, what do you want" as if we were ordering at a drive-thru. No explanation of the menu, no flexibility with any adjustments we politely requested--just straight-up dismissive. To make matters worse, I expressed my frustration to a higher-up that I literally ran into in the bathroom. Guess what? Absolutely nothing was done. They didn't care. This restaurant charges top dollar but offers zero service. It's the definition of elitist and overpriced, and the bad reviews you see are absolutely true. Sure, Nema was great, but even she couldn't make up for the overall disaster of this experience. And here's the kicker: the menu clearly states a mandatory 20% gratuity is automatically added, so we were forced to pay for Bashir's awful attitude and poor service. No way out. Honestly, this place is your typical Miami rip-off, riding on the back of an expensive location with no substance behind it. If you're not a "member," they treat you like you're invisible. I watched Bashir give much better service to the tables around us, while we were left with indifference.
