The good points of this small bakery/diner is that all of their bakery products are homemade there. They have some unusual flavors you couldn't find any place else. The staff is usually very friendly. They have a frequent patron program where you can get a discount after so many visits. The things needing improvement is the parking lot and outside of the building. Most of the parking area is unpaved and forms huge mud puddles every time it rains. The building is dull grey and somewhat run down looking. I also find their prices high when compared to starbucks or other diners in the area. Not a local to this area, but while visiting w/a friend in town, we came across this gem! The coffee & cinnamon raisin french toast were delicious. Their donuts were so good that I honestly don't know how I managed the 2 hour trip home without eating all the ones I brought home for the family. They were sure glad I had more willpower than usual. I'm from the Pacific Northwest where we have some pretty great donuts (Mighty-O, Top Pot, and Blue Star Donuts), but I think this place takes the cake (no pun intended)!! I had super high hopes for the breakfast at this place but it was nothing special. One way to judge a really good breakfast place by the quality of the whole wheat toast. Does it look like it's from a bag or is it hearty and fresh? California egg sandwich had one very tiny egg on it and not alot of avocado maybe a couple of cubes. It was a little bit on the thin side. A little pricey for what you get, in my opinion. My friends had the donuts and they really enjoyed them. if you're looking for unique baked goods, give this place a try. Maybe one day they will use jumbo cage free eggs and fresh whole wheat bread. Spruce it up. Until then I'll stick with my favorite places in Aventura and lauderdale. Great place for breakfast. We returned to the port at Fort Lauderdale from a cruise. I looked on Yelp for a place for breakfast and found Bake Shack. So glad I did. It Is a small restaurant where the staff really cares about what they put on your plate. I had eggs, bacon, hash browns with homemade bread. This can be ordinary but not there. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. My husband had the Belgian waffles and they were delicious too. Now we are taking home a half dozen artisan doughnuts. Can't wait to try them. read more

I come here often and unfortunately have had similar scenarios but I decided to give it another shot since the food and coffee is great and being that my sister was here from out of town I thought it'd be nice to take her. Sadly I feel like the staff is constantly overwhelmed, they're always in a rush and on the phone. Today we ordered food and coffee and they completely forgot our coffees. Three people after us got their drinks before us. After 10 mins we got the food but no coffee... when I mentioned something the waitress said she would check and after several minutes I decided to get up and say something. They stopped making our coffee to take phone orders... We had finished eating by the time our coffee made it to our table and when she brought it over (on the phone) no apology or a word to us. I wish the Bake Shack was in my neighborhood! The people and the food were wonderful. It felt like they always knew us, they were so welcoming. I had a Cinnamon roll that was so fresh there wasn't a hard spot to be found. Tender and baked to perfection with the perfect amount of glaze. Wonderful coffee. I'm absolutely obsessed with both of their chicken sandwiches. One is grilled. The other is buffalo. The grilled chicken is actually bursting with flavor. My friend and I searched for a restaurant in the area for breakfast/brunch using Yelp. We decided on Bake Shack because of the good reviews. When we arrived, we noticed the number of patrons in the place and in the display case all of the sweet delectables. We figured that the food must be really good; so we took a chance. We both ordered the egg shack, a side of avocado, cappuccino and 2 sweet treats. I can't remember what my friend ordered but I got the apple fritter for myself and the cookies and cream donut to take home to my son. What an amazing find! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place by accident, but it was meant to be. They have a great selection of breakfast, lunch and baked goods. I had the steak and eggs (amazing and they cook your steak true to what you ask for!) my boyfriend had chicken and waffles..... They have red pepper flakes in the syrup and it was phenomenal.
