I had an enjoyable dinner at the Aerie. I was slightly apprehensive given previous mixed reviews…read more The carrot appetizer was tasty but not so good that I would order it again. The wagyu osso buco was good, very tender, but the seasoning/flavor was not superlative. I enjoyed the mushroom bolognese tagliatelle the most (it was the most flavorful, and was filling). The coconut gelato was absolutely fantastic (creamy, rich, yet vegan), but I believe I had the same gelato at SeventyOne so it's not solely available at the Aerie. A friend had dinner at the Aerie the evening before and was disappointed in the mushroom appetizer, celery veloute, and sea bass (which she said was overcooked). So it's possible I enjoyed dinner also because my expectations were tempered. The ambiance is terrific with the tremendous windows and view Service was reasonably attentive, especially the sommelier Given the price/value alone I'd probably rate 3.5 but the ambiance bumps it to a 4

I had trouble with the elk meatball pasta. The balls were very tough and tasted gamey. The pasta wasn't thick pappardelle ribbons as noted on the menu, but rather thin like linguine. The $18+ dollar soups were anticlimactic (especially for the price) and needed more substance. The children's pasta was very salty and wasn't made with homemade pasta. The salmon entree looked beautiful on the plate however the fish was medium rare to rare and not as flaky as I hoped. The blue sauce had no actual flavor and was scant. The papaya salad was weird to say the least and tough. Possibly the worst plate of food had to have been the salad I've pictured, with some spotted radicchio. Super bitter and inedible. We sent it away and noticed the table next to us also complain about theirs. The other salad that we replaced it with was just okay and needed more elements. On a positive note, the staff were really friendly and polite and the complimentary bread with honey butter was delicious. My recommendation is to skip this restaurant and walk down to the Steak Pit.

Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. We ordered a bison burger with fries, pulled pork poutine, and blue corn nachos. The fries were limp and cold. The nachos arrived with regular corn chips instead of blue corn and were also cold. The pulled pork poutine was cold as well, and the burger was overly salty. What made the experience worse was the lack of service. We waited about 30 minutes without being checked on while the manager appeared to visit other tables. After flagging down a server, it took additional time before we were assisted. I understand that restaurants can have off nights, but this visit fell well below expectations -- especially given the price point and past experiences. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the location and atmosphere have always been a draw.

The food was fantastic, made with care, and far above what you usually find in a mountain lodge setting. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and seemed to take real pride in the place. The dining room and bar have a rustic charm that feels authentic rather than staged, which adds to the overall atmosphere. A memorable stop and absolutely worth returning to.

My husband and I decided to try this place for brunch after church and Since it was the off season,…read morewe knew there would not be lot of people there. Upon arrival we requested patio seating, where a large party was also seated. The server was a little slow to acknowledge us, however as she was helping the large party we let it go. We did overhear someone from the large group they wanted to order biscuits and gravy and was promptly informed they were out (this was about 10 am - posted business hours were from 8 am to 4 pm). The patio was had great view, the weather was perfect and of course being in the off season hardly many visitors It took the several minutes after taking their order to finally stop by. My husband ordered the black bean with chicken and informed they were out. So he opted for the Caesar salad with chicken and I ordered the eggs Benedict; he chose to stick with water and I ordered a n iced tea. When our order was brought it, it looked great. And was brought out by someone who was not our server. However my eggs were very overcooked; husband's salad had too much dressing. Not once did our server come by to check on either us or the large party until it was time to pay. My husband ended drinking the water brought to us when we're seated and I drank my iced tea slowly to make it last for the duration of our meal. We did observe another couple who was seated on the patio about the time we placed our order, the server was very attentive to them. Additionally there was a single young man also seated about the same time who was ignored by the server for good length of time.

I ordered Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes, and Sourdough Bread Toast. The breakfast was good. An average breakfast but the best part was the view. It was spectacular. In my opinion the prices are quite steep for breakfast. The breakfast plate was twenty two dollars but that's to be expected staying on a ski resort. The customer service was good and could be quite slow at times.

I used the voucher last year at the same place. I got the Asian salad, it was okay. I couldn't believe they didn't tell their servers to honor the thousands of people coming in from the DOMO conference. I blame it on the server, I saw him look at my DOMO nametag on my neck and he didn't ask if I knew that the voucher wasn't good there. Again, not going to a manager to make this right. I put so much hope in people, and they always prove me wrong.

We stopped in because they had modifiable options for a vegan. Apparently their veggie sandwich can't be done without cheese? That was the first signifier that everything is pre-made and sitting, waiting for you to order it. I asked the server about taking it off and before I could even finish my sentence, the answer was no. Granted he did spend 10 minutes talking to another server and avoiding us, his one table, putzing around, so getting food made to order didn't seem to be the biggest concern. And with asking about getting cheese not being on my sandwich, no way. Couldn't be bothered. Aka: you got dietary restrictions, good luck, we're not going to help you. I ended up ordering the kid's PB&J because it was the only non-dairy, non-meat optipn on the menu. And then I got it... My bread we as hard as a rock. Clearly had been sitting for a while. Very pre-made. My mom's turkey sandwich was also horrible. She tried to eat the turkey our of the stale bread of her sandwich, but that was way too dry. I hate saying all this because the staff was so friendly, except when the server took 10 minutes to greet the table. Every other interaction and meal we had at Cliff Lodge was great. Maybe that's what made this interaction and meal so incredibly disappointing. Go elsewhere for food.
