Forklift serves traditional American foods and they also serve breakfast options, soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers. I was in the mood for breakfast so I went to The Forklift. I ordered Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes, and Sourdough Bread Toast. The breakfast was good. An average breakfast but the best part was the view. It was spectacular. In my opinion the prices are quite steep for breakfast. The breakfast plate was twenty two dollars but that's to be expected staying on a ski resort. My husband and I decided to try this place for brunch after church and Since it was the off season, we knew there would not be lot of people there. Upon arrival we requested patio seating, where a large party was also seated. The server was a little slow to acknowledge us, however as she was helping the large party we let it go. We did overhear someone from the large group they wanted to order biscuits and gravy and was promptly informed they were out (this was about 10 am - posted business hours were from 8 am to 4 pm). The patio was had great view, the weather was perfect and of course being in the off season hardly many visitors It took the several minutes after taking their order to finally stop by. My husband ordered the black bean with chicken and informed they were out. So he opted for the Caesar salad with chicken and I ordered the eggs Benedict; he chose to stick with water and I ordered a n iced tea. When our order was brought it, it looked great. And was brought out by someone who was not our server. However my eggs were very overcooked; husband's salad had too much dressing. Not once did our server come by to check on either us or the large party until it was time to pay. My husband ended drinking the water brought to us when we're seated and I drank my iced tea slowly to make it last for the duration of our meal. We did observe another couple who was seated on the patio about the time we placed our order, the server was very attentive to them. Excellent choice, convenient location and good food. Right at the main plaza. Reliable destination for breakfast and lunch. Service is friendly and relaxed. Wraparound windows and a fire pit make for a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Breakfast is typical diner fare, if a bit pricey. I balked at the $5 coffee and ended up back at the Lodge for free coffee service in the lobby. Otherwise, food is done well with generous portions. read more

I'd say in general ski lodge food nationwide is overpriced, underwhelming and designed for convenience and speed all while customers are held hostage to whatever limitations they want to offer patrons. I'll say this for Forklift however, their Chicken Pot Pie was good, with no crust, but a crispy biscuit. My expectations of ski lodge food is tempered by past experiences nationwide, so this was OK and ABOVE AVERAGE. There are limited food options at Snowbird, with 2 food sources at the outdoor slope level, then a decent cafeteria styled "restaurant" (pick salad, pasta or grilled station food and pay at a main counter then seat yourself) as well as a pizzeria then a breakfast pastry/desert and drink place. The other options are for prepared packaged snacks at the market/stores. Given the limited options, Forklift isn't a bad choice to make and I'd recommend it. read more

The food is greasy and underwhelming. They used to have great hash browns but now they're just chopped up french fries. Everything about the forklift has gotten lazy. Even the service was a bit slow and when you are hoping to get back out to ski you don't want to be waiting for your server or your check. I do say, the location is ideal for keeping an eye on the crowd and getting back onto the slopes. You would not want to come all the way up here to eat unless you were already planning to ski for the day. Plenty of great, less expensive breakfast spots down in Salt Lake Valley. We had a wonderful experience at the forklift at Snowbird. The eight of us enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with an excellent server by the name of Abby. The breakfast menu is not extensive, but what they have was delicious. I had the Forklift omelette with sourdough toast and home fries. My friend had eggs and bacon, and others had the breakfast sandwich which was very large. There's a number of choices for each dish. The server even accepted substitutions such as a bowl of fruit. Large servings. Our server kept our coffee mugs full as well as our water glasses. I definitely recommend The Forklift at the Snowbird center on the plaza. read more

Restaurants need three things, ambience, service, food. This place has ambience as far as you're in the mountains and it's amazing up there. But like most touristy places, you're a captive basically and they're not looking for long-term repeat customers so the food wasn't good, home potatoes were too hard and crispy to get a fork into, the menu has bacon added to everything which should just be an add-on. The pricing is whacky, not to mention high... $12 draught pint of light beer vs $7 pint light beer from a can. One appetizer, two sandwiches and a kids meal, plus four drinks was $145 after tip. Thank goodness this delicious restaurant is nestled right at the base of Snowbird. No joke, we ate lunch here every day for a week straight. They have a good variety and I wasn't disappointed with anything I got. The waiters/waitresses are super fun and awesome too! I highly recommend taking off your gloves and neck warmers to dry and warm them by the fire. Sometimes they're busy between 12-1 so we try to get there before or after that time frame. read more

My sis and her fam are visiting from Vegas for the first time. I was hoping to take them on the scenic tram ride at Snowbird yesterday, especially since I haven't done it myself, but it is currently closed (only open for skiing and snowboarding). They said they're hoping to continue with them in June. We were pretty hungry after exploring a bit and decided to stop for lunch at the Forklift Restaurant. The staff were friendly and brought out baby's food first to keep her occupied and happy, so that was nice :) I got the French dip sandwich and really enjoyed it, though it or the au jus was a little salty for me. My bro-in-law really liked his turkey sandwich on focaccia, and my sis went with a soup and salad combo. Her salad took a long time to come out (when we were all almost done eating), that is my only "complaint". We enjoyed our visit overall! read more

Decent spot for sit down lunch at the Snowbird Center base. My son went with the Forklift Burger ($17) which came with fries. He said it was okay - which was not a ringing endorsement. I went with the Mediterranean Chicken Pita ($16) which also came with fries. It was fine. Nothing real special about the food that we could tell - and of course at ski resort prices. Confused at this rating! I had one of the best girls brunch here on the patio. Hoping to get up there one more time before it gets to chilly. We came here for my grandma's birthday. The staff was friendly. Service was slow, but that was fine. From reading other reviews I expected it to be mediocre food that was over priced. So my expectations weren't high. My cousin had the turkey bacon sandwich. And she said it was good dipped in ranch. Two of us at the table got the shrimp tacos. My second bite into the shrimp had a crunch, after spitting it out I saw it still had the shell on it, it had me grossed out. After picking out all of the exoskeleton out of my mouth I noticed brown things attached to the shrimp.... ALL of the legs were still attached, and I had to run to the bathroom to well, you know.... Non of the other shrimp were like this. So I hope it was a one time thing. However, I was pretty upset lying $20 for 2 tacos that I took 1 bite of and and ended up in the bathroom. I want to note that this is a very positive review of a good meal. Moreover, I was very impressed by the short staffed crew, who promised to find us a table as soon as they could, and handled our minor requests, throughout, in style. This ski resort eatery is allowed to charge a little more for the plates, and I'm encouraging them to get a little more adventurous with the options. From what I could ascertain, there aren't any other dining options during summer activities -- I expected a takeout venue, maybe -- so if we're going to spend an hour doing table service, and drop a fair tab doing so, the meal should be memorable. Don't mess with the kids menu, obviously, but the sandwiches, burgers and tacos could really stand out with a creative mind behind the line. It was a pretty good meal, the Ghostrider White IPA was solid, and I'm glad I kept everything down on the rollercoaster. read more

I am very stoked to see and eat at restaurants up here at Snowbird, like The Fork Lift. Chef Coleen and her crew are cooking and serving up amazing & yummy food here. In the 4 weeks up here at Snowbird I have tried most of the food items on the menu. And when they have a Special of the Day, jump on it ! Chef Coleen is from Jamaica and one of the Special of the Day was Jamaican Jerk Chicken. YES ! ! So juicy, flavorful and deliciously sensory overload for my taste buds ! One suggestion. The pouring mechanism for the Jagermeister needs to be cleaned of that delicious syrupy elixir so as to ensure proper dosage. Being up here for 4 weeks and ordering several Jagers shots almost daily, I got really good at knowing when the pouring mechanism was off. Please let Coleen do more Daily Specials. We waited a very long time for our food and drink refills which was shocking due to the spot not being busy. It seemed like other guests waited quite sometime too. Once our food arrived it was very mediocre. I got the shrimp tacos, bland and nothing exciting to write about. I feel this spot is very overpriced for what you receive. I've been here for apres a few times and it's a solid spot. The apres does end at 5pm though, so it's not somewhere you can stay very late. Their hot toddy's are pretty decent and they have good nachos, which are a really large portion. They have indoor and outdoor seating with heaters. The Forklift is located at the base of Snowbird near the tram. It is probably the best option for lunch at Snowbird in my opinion. It is restaurant seating with an indoor and outdoor area, and a fire place inside where you can put your gloves and anything els you may want to dry off on. The food and service were both solid. They were very busy when I went, and move at a fast pace so I would recommend being ready to order when you sit down somewhat quickly. This is a real option for food for lunch. they don't serve hamburgers and hotdogs with fries. They have salads, sandwiches, soups and everything is fresh. I was exited to see appetizing vegetarian options so I ordered the roasted veggie bowl. If you can read a menu at all you'll be disappointed with the food. It was a bowl of quinoa with unseasoned steamed or maybe even microwaved carrots and cauliflower. No broccoli, and I specifically asked for a different dressing which the waitress tried to tell me was correct even though you can't mistake red wine vinegar for chipotle. Don't advertise roasted vegetables if you are just going to steam them. Service is slow, food is even slower. read more

Like ski trail maps, I give four stars to forklift purely as a relative to the mountain. Relative to my other reviews forklift is 2.5 stars at best. Let's face it. No one comes to snowbird or alta for the night life or cuisine. Quite frankly it sucks. Forklift is the closest spot for sit down dining to the lift. At the base of snowbird center, forklift is great for bfast (go to aerie on 10 if you are staying at cliff lodge) and good for a leisurely lunch. If you are looking to do laps on the mountain. This is a tough one. I've debated doing a review for a long time. It's been everything from 1 star to 4 star on any particular visit. In the fall season it has the advantage of being one of two lunch places on the mountain with wait staff service. I've been here on and off for many years. I've had nearly inedible food, excellent food, indifferent service, earnest but inept service, and good service. After all that, great ambiance. My favorite service in the area so far and the hotel staff is pretty amazing! Barbie is a rockstar. The Cobb salad was so delicious and the cook was kind enough to split a couple of meals for us so we could share. Super accommodating staff. Dustin was also a friendly delight. While waiting for our boards to get edged and waxed, we decided to stop by here and take a break. Forklift is located on the top floor of Snowbird Center right next to the slope entrance. We got there around noon on a Monday and were seated immediately. We had a window seat with a nice view of the trees and snow. Our server came by quickly and took our drink and food orders. I had the fish tacos with a side of rice and beans. The fish tacos were alright. The fish was okay but not very tender or juicy. The taco didn't really have much flavor and the rice felt a little soggy. The meal also seemed a little rushed as the server did come by with our checks while we were still eating. Beyond the meat, everything else was pretty typical. I asked for mayo, and the waitress said they ran out. Um alright. So, she offered Ranch, which I said cool. But... 10min later she never came back and my burger got cold. I asked another waiter after a while. And maybe 5min later she came back with my Ranch, and like 5 other drinks for other tables.
