It pains me to rate this place as subpar, but the bread was stale and hard. I was very disappointed because I was hoping the cardamom buns, croissants, and anything with bread were gonna be amazing, but they were hard and dry. I am not sure if we were served old pastries, but I did not enjoy them at all. The cakes we ordered were super moist and not sweet so I enjoyed the cakes. The drink we had, Vanilla latte was okay, nothing special and the service, but was bad. Not only that the service was very slow, a lot of people waiting were getting impatient, because there is no efficiency. They were taking orders and instead of taking care of their orders, they were placing the tickets back to back to back and then the person cannot remember who came first and serves someone's who came later than others. I will give this place a try again, but if the bread and service continues to be like this, Tous les Jour serves amazing drinks and pastries, as well as The Loaf in Newhall have the best breads and pastries. read more

Now Baked Bar L.A., my wife and I stopped in on Saturday to check them out. While they're on a busy stretch of road, the center they're in has always been a bit awkward. I hope they get good customer flow. Their showroom is quite small, but there are two showcases with their offerings. For the moment at least, they are doing their baking off-site at the main location in Culver City, and the baked goods are brought up early every morning (per the staff). If they're not going to bake there, I think they should probably expand the inside area into the kitchen area. Right now, they have only a few tables, but could use some more. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. She answered all of our questions that we had about their baked goods. A positive is that they have gluten-free alternatives for those that require that, although there was not much physical separation on the shelf. I ordered a blueberry muffin. It was good, but very dense and heavy. I probably wouldn't order it again, but other people might love it. I think it's a case of matching their baking style with the right customer. My wife ordered a chocolate almond croissant, which was light, flaky and had excellent taste. She said she would definitely order that again. The coffee was hot and freshly pressed. They have a large selection of pastries, and the bagels are positively huge. The other display case has cakes. It's great that you can still get a cake other than from the local market bakeries. They have some tables and umbrellas on the sidewalk area outside the front door. It's not really a finished patio, but a comfy place to sit if you want to grab some sun. Yes, we would go back. Finally had a chance to visit The Baked Bar. It's a cute spot, but unfortunately it wasn't worth all the hype. It took over 10 minutes to get a coffee and two pastries, which seemed excessive considering how small the order was. The girl taking orders appeared a bit confused and possibly overwhelmed. It might help if they started taking customer names or using order numbers to make the process more organized and efficient. As for the food, the lemon blueberry scone was very dry and had very little flavor. The peach strudel danish was disappointing as well, as it tasted more like apple than peach. read more

This is such a lovely & quaint bakery! I'm always in search of anything Dubai Chocolate and I heard they make a specialty croissant which I wanted to try. It was pretty good. 4/5. It had a Pistachio custard center and chocolate drizzled on top. I was expecting that the center would have the crunchy shredded phyllo in it which is what makes it "Dubai" - and for that reason it fell short for me. The service was great. Danielle was very helpful and sweet. There's a very nice area outside with tables, chairs & umbrellas plus some indoor seating. The inside is rather small. I would go back the next time I'm up in the Santa Clarita area and try something else there. read more

I was thrilled to discover Jill's Cake Creations has revamped their space with a fresh updated feel and is now officially part of Baked Bar LA. Jill's has always been a beloved fixture in our community for over two decades. She baked my wedding cake, and over the years, has been my go-to person for all things sweet and special! I have recently stopped by Jill's on several occasions since the opening of Baked Bar LA, and I am consistently impressed by the exceptional quality of their pastries and breads. In response to the recent negative review that the prices are a bit high, but I think they're fair considering the high quality of ingredients and the fact that they're homemade. If you go to Starbucks and get a croissant, it's almost $5, and it's not fresh or as large. Plus the lamination on their croissants is top-notch! They are the best ! On average pastries are around $6, comparable to Crumbl and other bakery type shops. Unless you go to a grocery store that uses lower-grade ingredients. Yes, you will pay less but also eating all the nasty preservatives. It is unfortunate that there are negative reviews that seem to be motivated by a desire to harm local businesses rather than support them. It is important to recognize that supporting local small family businesses is about fostering a sense of community and preserving the unique character of SCV, not all these large corporations that keep popping up and taking over. It's honestly a shame. Anyway, I highly recommend trying their pastries, lattes and sourdough, especially their garlic sourdough! It's absolutely delicious! Plus the staff is great ! read more

I bought a slice of red velvet, Oreo and confetti cake. Red velvet and Oreo were good, I would not recommend the confetti cake. The confetti cake had a texture that was different than the others and the taste was not there. I ordered the honey coffee, I didn't really taste anything, I wouldn't get iced coffee there either. I ordered a cake for my nieces bridal shower. I just wanted a small white 2-layer cake. I asked if they would put flowers in the cake and they recommended I bring the flowers I wanted. I did and they did a beautiful job installing the flowers. I knew the cake was gorgeous but, didn't expect it to be delicious too! It was! They do the best wedding cakes! The cakes are so delicious. Jill has a thorough meeting with you and really gets a good idea of exactly what you want. She is so experienced and it shows in her cakes. My husband and I had a 1920s themed wedding and weren't really sure what we wanted our cake to look like. We brought in a couple inspiration pictures and Jill combined our ideas together and made the whole experience so easy. The cake was delivered seamlessly and we did not have to worry about a thing on our wedding day. For the amount of art that goes into each cake, they really are affordable too. Baked Bar has the most amazing GF goodies here in SCV . Delicious gluten free bakery items are a hard find out here most are always made with almond flour and I am not a fan of it ... BUT at Baked Bar they use a gf flour made by a father /son . They have an amazing mascarpone cake that omg is just delicious, a yuzu scone that was the perfect combination of sweet and tart , the blueberry muffin is fluffy and moist , my husband who is not gf has had the gf confetti cake slice and it's yummy too ! Yesterday though I stop in to try the gf bagels that is something I miss being gf and hands down it was the best gf bagel . It was crispy chewy and fluffy I toasted it when I got home it was the everything bagel and I topped it with chicken salad! This am I having the plain with cream cheese !! Went to this location which is shared with Baked Bar. Got a bunch of pastries and coffee and I will say, Santa Clarita is still missing a really good coffee shop. I paid 7 dollars for the cinnamon roll that was probably the worst I've ever had. Extremely dry and for 7 dollars you think it would actually be edible. And my wife got a matcha and I got the honey latte and I understand lattes have milk but the drinks tasted like straight milk. Very unfortunate and a huge waste of money. We ordered a small 2-tier wedding cake from here in May and haven't stopped thinking about it since. The cakes were SO flavorful, delicious, and perfectly moist. The top tier was pink champagne and the bottom tier was strawberry. We love how vibrant the cakes were. Beautiful and elegant on the outside but almost hot pink when you cut into it. Absolutely perfect!! We were really impressed with our experience at Jill's. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and communicative. It was a breeze setting up our tasting appointment and ordering our wedding cake. We had to drive the cake up the coast a few hours for our wedding and the woman who was helping us gave us a non-slip pad and good advice for how to travel with the cake. Holy crap, my cake was the most perfect, beautiful vision of my dream (within my budget because holy cow they are pricey). But you definitely get what you pay for!!!! The cake was the most jaw-dropping, perfect cake ever, but that's about where it ended. I was so sad to cut into a dry, boring cake. The smash cake (which didn't get smashed- my sweet girl was so overwhelmed- was absolutely delicious. I wish they could have done the same for the actual cake.
