Stopped by Topanga Mall today to do some shopping and made my way to the food court. My cousin and I couldn't pass up Gooey Treats. Run by Mitch, Gooey Treats is a specialty Rice Krispies spot with great energy behind the counter and some solid sweets. We grabbed a four pack--two s'mores and two fruity. The s'mores one really caught me off guard. I didn't expect it to be that good, but it definitely hit. Mitch's service is amazing. She greeted us with a smile, took care of us the whole time, and even while we sat back watching her make the order, she gave that same energy to every customer. You can tell she really enjoys what she does. I also like her whole setup--the branding, the logos, the Gooey Monsters... it all fits. No biggie, walked around the mall and came back around 12:45. Finally some workers were there. Went to order and ordered a og original. Left and came back about 5 mins later and the girl says sorry we're actually all out of everything but cheesecake. I don't like cheesecake! She says they are making more as we speak and it will be ready in 5 mins. Cool!! Waited 15 mins and I was seated right outside the place so she knew where I was. What you see in their display cases - thats what you actually get. All the toppings, the size - its true to life. I was able to catch the smell of one of their items on the menu as it was being made, then I saw the place. Each item is made to order and depending on the quantity, they can be put into different size boxes. I wanted to have an order prepared while I was eating from the other places, so when I was done eating my meal, I was able to head over to pick these up just in time for dessert. Set up is kind of strange but it's apparently all virtual and there are multiple cuisines where each restaurant either share the kitchen space or have their own space. Either way, my wife was having a Rice Krispy postpartum craving so I initially called but their phone wasn't working, so I decided to drive over and it took me a second to figure out where this was but I'm glad I was able to find it. All the flavored rice crispies are really good. If your in the city and buy at cost it's worth it but if your paying for shipping which I think was $15 puts them at over $7 which isn't worth it for the size. The more you buy the more it's worth it. I would make them bigger as they aren't as big as you think. I was very disappointed on the original flavored rice crispy size and flavor. It was notably thinner and smaller. The owner should be weighing them to get a consistent range to get consistent products for customers. Also the original flavor is missing that butter flavor that I love from homemade ones , the vanilla extract was overpowering. I wouldn't order the original again due to flavor. Overall I like what the owner is trying to do and a few tweaks would improve consistency. Would I order again ? Only if I hand a big order so the shipping would be worth it. read more

I am surprised that I'm the first review, but this is a great company that took a lot of time to answer my questions. Unfortunately, I have celiac so I have to be really careful with gluten. I did my due diligence and called the company before I ordered them because I know rice crispy treats are gluten-free... Yes, I know they have malt in them, but I do fine and I do not react to the malt. Not only did they make some adjustments like not adding the crumble on top they looked into all of the ingredients to make sure that there was no wheat in the ingredients, and if there was a question of the ingredients, they informed me and I just didn't order that cookie. The ones they knew for sure was the original, the banana, and the churro! All of them were so good. The banana was my absolute favorite. And there's a reason why that the company is called goooey they are so so so gooey they're not hard or firm. They're absolutely delicious. I really appreciate the time that they gave me to discuss about cross-contamination and gluten. Many times I get blown off, but they literally called me three times to confirm certain things to make sure that it was not gonna be glutened. If you do order these cookies, just make sure that you state that you want them gluten-free! Always call ahead I'm sure that they're going to adjust probably some of the recipes or maybe add new cookies. They were so nice and so accommodating. read more
