Almost two months since my wife and mother to our two children has been able to interact with her parents, friends, and siblings. May, the month of mother's day and my wife's birthday no less, was to be spent at home. Historically I have purchased a couple artisanal cupcakes as she has a sweet tooth resembling an addiction. This year, however, while juggling the pandemic and a weird limbo of me going into work, to not work, and staying home to work, I have forgotten to get her her sweet treats. I resigned that this year was just going to have to go without. Queue Densonios Cake Pops. My sweet redemption. I was lucky enough to find the last box available on short notice. Now many people would think of cake pops as a novelty gift. Something that looks cute but lacks in taste. NOT THE CASE! With Densonios Cake pops I had pops that were utterly beautiful as well as delicious! Seriously people, I kid you not, these cake pops are on par with those artisanal cup cakes I typically buy. I heard about Densonios Cake Pops a while back (through Yelp actually!) but it wasn't until I came across the cutest cake pops in the shape of ducks on her Instagram. I instantly fell in love and messaged her about getting a custom order of these exact design for my boyfriend's birthday treat. The ordering process is super simple; you can call or email, pick a cake flavour and design, and arrange the time/date you need these. I emailed my order in advance (2 1/2 weeks) so I'm not sure what she is like with rush orders. Honestly, I think the farther in advance, the better! Just as a common courtesy. Couple days before scheduled pick-up, we ironed out the details and everything went very smoothly. Lily is an absolute sweetheart! She was so friendly and answered all my questions. She also gave great directions on how to get there and was easy to reach by phone when I arrived. She was also flexible with the pick-up time which helped a lot during my busy day. I should note that I live in SCV close by to her neighbourhood. It only took me about 5 mins to drive home which was nice since I was glad that I didn't have to keep the cakepops with me out and about for too long. You don't need to refrigerate these immediately but do not keep them in the car as they could melt!! I kept mine room temperature. We ate quite a few the first night but the rest were still fresh even 3 days after. The lemon flavour cake was DELICIOUS. So moist, perfectly sweet with a nice balance of lemon zest flavour. Lily, I don't know how you make these but please don't stop! Not only are these the prettiest pops to look at, they taste amazing too. Beauty and taste are spot on! For a dozen the price is great. I am so happy to have found a place where I can get custom dessert and not break the bank. I can't wait to try the other flavours and order again.
