I was planning a trip to Greer and when I asked ChatGPT to pull up an itinerary for me, this place kept showing up and I'm so glad I checked it out! This place has amazing breads and pastries and do not miss it if you're in Pinetop- Lakeside. They close at 4pm and aren't open on Sundays so I bought a few items before venturing into Greer. I got the black pepper asiago sourdough bread and also a raspberry coffee cake. Both are phenomenal! I'm still working on both of them but what a gem of a find! Definitely come check this place out. Baked in Pinetop is one of my absolute favorite bakeries! Their sourdough and marble rye breads are incredible, perfectly baked with amazing flavor and texture. Every pastry I've tried has been delicious, and I can't leave without getting an oatmeal cookie -- they're honestly the best I've ever had! The staff are always friendly, and the shop smells heavenly the moment you walk in. I recommend calling ahead to place your order because there's usually a line out the door (which tells you how good it is!). If you're anywhere near Pinetop, this bakery is a must visit! read more

Surprisingly, this bakery was open on Independence Day! We'd asked some friends who summer up there where to get some good bakery items and they recommended this place. They are known for having delicious sourdough, but also had some delectable sweet treats--cookies, danish, croissants, scones, etc. We tried a strawberry lemonade scone, a cream cheese/strawberry item, and a chocolate raspberry danish, as well as a small sourdough ball of bread that they sliced for us. I'm almost afraid to review Baked in Pinetop because of how darn delicious it is. There is always a line no matter when you go, and they sell out of favorites early. In this case, the early bird gets the cheese danishes and, more importantly, the coveted sourdough bread. Prices are reasonable, people are friendly, and they'll even slice your bread for you. Stumbled upon this delightful bakery during a trip to Pine Top. Boy oh boy was this place a treat. Fresh baked breads and pastries galore. A carb lovers haven. First visit I picked up a loaf of red pepper, garlic and Asiago French bread...and omg, this bread had red pepper, garlic and Asiago through out! I had it as is, with butter, as toast, as a breakfast sandwich and as a grilled cheese. Best bread ever! I also picked up a cinnamon roll which was the perfect blend of sweetness and cinnamon. Went back before I left and picked up a loaf of Asiago and black pepper sour dough bread, a cheese danish and cherry, cream cheese croissant. All were delicious. Can't wait to go back. read more

Stopped by BIP (Baked in Pinetop) after a family walk on some trails around Woodland Lake for a sweet treat. Surprised to see a line out the door at 11am on a Tuesday, but after trying some of their pastries I totally understand. This is an amazing local bakery that has so many different varieties of breads (sweet and savory), cookies, scones, muffins, danishes, sticky buns... if it's dough based and yummy, they got it. They even have pizza dough you can take home and bake for $2.50. The artisanal loaves were $5, cookies for $1.50... unbelievable deals for homemade baked goods and great customer service. We were told to come by 8am for the best selection. We took home a cheese danish and a pecan sticky bun and both were amazing. The lamination on the cheese danish was flaky and tender. A great balance of sweet and salty. The sticky buns caramel was ridiculous and we easily could have eaten 4 or 20 more. If you're anywhere near this place and they're open... GO!!! read more

We have asked and begged them to offer their pumpkin pie all year long, or at least occasionally throughout the year, but they only offer it during the Thanksgiving season!! We love the cherry pie with a crumble almond topping that we buy often, but the pumpkin pie is our new best friend!! That is why I gave a one star review. The food is great but the lack of process by the grey haired lady was horrible. Create a process and stick to it. You would benefit more business than what your older lady behind the counter provides. She truly needs an education in customer service. The other two young ladies are far better than her. It will be a bit busy in the late morning/early afternoon. Come around 8 for your favorite goodies. I have been here multiple times but this time I got a baguette to make garlic bread for my family's dinner. Hamburger buns for cheese burgers. And a Cranberry-Orange muffin for breakfast. It was all quality and really good. This visit the line was out the door and most stuff was gone only about 1/8 of their product was still there. BEST BREAD IN TOWN!!! Everything is made/ baked fresh daily. They are famous for their sourdough! Hit it early morning or mid afternoon to snag a 2lb loaf OR call and put in your request a day in advance to ensure you get one. Their staff is super accommodating and very helpful. Emily, in particular, is absolutely fabulous. Her smile always brightens my day and she has helped me with specific accommodations many times. All of the staff recognize and interact with the locals / regulars, and yet are super kind and welcoming to all the weekend warriors and out of towners, too. And you CAN NOT BEAT their delicious pastries / breads! Try the jalapeño cheese bread - you won't regret it (tho I might regret saying that, if you all start buying it up before I get there ). Also - they sell pre-made frozen pizza dough that is CHEAP and makes DELICIOUS pizza crust! We buy a few at a time to keep in the freezer, and have fun DIY "pizza nights", where my kids get to roll out and too their own pizzas. They LOVE pizza night! The dough makes for fantastic breadsticks, too, if you allow to rise, then roll out, slice with a pizza cutter, let rise again, and then wipe with egg-wash and sprinkle garlic salt / parmesan!
