We had reached out to three other companies, two of which we never even heard back from and one who said they wouldn't come this far out to our house (only a town or two over.) We were in desperate need of a chimney sweep and inspection. The woman who returned my call was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and got us booked with an appointment for the following week on a Monday morning! The two gentlemen who showed up to our home were very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. They went right to work and seemed to have everything taken care of in not talk much time. Although I wish the results of our chimney inspection were better (thanks previous owners of the house), the inspection was thorough and seemed reasonably priced. The young gentleman who gave me the results of our inspection was actually the owner of the company and said they would be emailing over photos of the complete inspection along with an estimate for any repairs we would need to have done before potentially installing a wood stove. He removed the stovepipe, something that my previous cleaners had not, took it outside and gave it a good cleaning, and then went to work giving the whole chimney, including the cap, the best cleaning ever. It doesn't seem plausible to me that it would be necessary for them to be there since the fire department would be too busy dealing with a fire to talk to them. I realize that going to a fire is far more exciting than meeting with a prospective client. These last minute cancellations have happened to me twice before with other companies I have made appointments with in the past year. It must be clearly understood by the managers of these companies that people often times have to take time off from work and deal with other inconveniences to meet with workmen and last minute cancellations are unacceptable. You only get one chance with me. Next time I will reschedule and purposely miss the appointment and let them know what it's like to have someone waste your time.
