From my first interaction with Chrissy at the front desk, I knew this would be different. She was friendly, patient, and very accommodating with my schedule. Chrissy thoroughly explained the cost and treatment process upfront, putting me at ease right from the start. At my first appointment, I received an X-ray, and Dr. Baker took a detailed history before creating a realistic treatment plan with clear expectations. He carefully explained what he saw in the X-ray, what areas we would focus on, and how my condition should improve throughout the treatment. After my very first adjustment, I felt instant relief, and with each appointment, my pain continued to decrease. Partway through my treatment, I became pregnant. Dr. Baker explained that chiropractic adjustments can be extremely beneficial during pregnancy, helping to alleviate the physical discomfort caused by the body's changes. Thanks to his care, I did not experience any lower back or hip pain throughout my pregnancy. I started going to Dr. Tong because I began to have painful spasms in my lower back that extended to my legs. In addition, I would experience neck stiffness, where I could not turn my head all the way to the right. I have a very active lifestyle, where I hike 10+ miles a week and take high intensity interval classes four to five times a week. The back and neck pain prevented me from being able to work out as hard as I wanted to, and the pain got progressively worse. But then I found Baker Family Chiropractic and I am so glad I did. The practice is not only patient-oriented, friendly, and in a wonderful location, but they have a great approach to spinal care. I had a hard time writing this review, they were all very nice, but I just wanted to share my experience. I called during January, my back was hurting and I needed an adjustment. I usually go to the Joint. Now they are very different from the Joint and offered different services. So I can't judge their services. There was a coupon for $35 for $70 of service on Yelp and that got my interest. I called, told them of the coupon, they said they are happy to honor those. I went in, got the forms filled, I give them my credit card and they said go ahead and hold on to it first. Dr Baker, came out, shook my hand (it was still okay) and said they will bring me back in a min. When we got to the office, still no tables for adjustments. Dr Baker interviewed me, asking about my past experiences with chiropractors and if I am familiar with adjustments, old injuries. He then tells me there will be no adjustments today, we have to start with the x-ray, a consultation, and we have to come back later for the adjustment. Later could be the day after if I like. The price for the first appointment was $307, which includes the x-Ray. At this point, I am not sure why I said okay, but I did. Perhaps I felt a little pressure to say yes, as I am in pain. I was siting in the office already, whatever, I said okay. After 3 x-rays, a consultation, I walked back to the lobby, and paid $274, which is where I got the discount. The Dr pass by, told his office manager to set up another appointment the day after for a very special appointment for me. At this point, I wish they would've been very upfront with their clients. Maybe right off the bat, hey, first appointment is strictly consultation only. I was trying to see what the payment would be for the next appointment, but they didn't really disclose it to me. I didn't go back. I didn't feel like going back, and paying $?$?$?$? to go over my r-rays. I also didn't know if they were going to do the adjustments on the second appointment or do we need a third. They didn't tell me anything, so I left still in pain, with less money. Overall, they were very nice people. Not sure if I agreed with their practice, but they seem to have very happy clients. To be totally honest, I'm surprised by so many people with positive sentiment about this place. I found the experience to be cheap and frankly, dishonest. I went in to Baker Chiropractic with serious pain in my shoulder. I had shared with Brandon Tong that I was taking pain medication to get by and that I preferred to not do that. I would have continued coming back if this ailment was resolved in any way, but unfortunately due to lack of any care, it continued to get worse. My first visit was a complete run around. I shared what had been going on and my pain. From there, I was told I'd be given a full evaluation before given care, which I was fine with. The doctor slipped in the amount it would cost without my consent or approval, and then moved forward with a full exam which included x-rays. Then I was told it was like $300+ and sent on my way with zero information or care for the pain I came in for. At the end of my first appointment, I knew it was scammy when I was asked to bring my wife to my next appointment. I'm a grown woman, I don't need my wife to come to any appointments unless you're trying to squeeze money out of me. When I was able to come next, it was addressed that I wasn't able to bring my spouse. Yeah... she has a job and a life. Then, we looked in great detail at the x-rays of the spine. So now I've spent 90 minutes at this place with zero adjustments or help. After 90 minutes of time at this place, I was given a document that said care would cost $5,000 and wasn't covered by my insurance at all. BUT, if I paid it all up front, I'd save $1,000 today. What a deal. I received a 2 minute adjustment and then was charged $85 for a visit where I was literally sold to for the whole hour. If I were these guys, I'd frankly be embarrassed. When I declined, I had to sign a document that the offer wouldn't be available again and now have been called 3x since I left to ask if I want to move forward. I'll share here: no. I don't want to move forward. I have found this experience to be the absolute worst chiropractic experience I've encountered. I went to get a chiropractic massage finally yesterday and have been adjusted twice since from a reliable and good chiropractor. First, for my LGBTQI family I want to say that I frequently avoid places with "family" in the name and very proper looking photographs. But this is a safe place, and there is a genuine sense of caring and compassion for /everyone./ Now, I have a very interesting back, with an unusual hyper-flexibility condition (tendons too long for the vertebrae), discs that bulge and rupture easily, and one vertebrae that moves independently of the rest in my lower back. I can be fine one moment, and then shift position and feel like an ice pick has gone through my spine. Six years ago, at 34, It became so crippling and so frequent that it resulted in eight months of physical therapy and medication, followed by spine surgery, followed by another year of intense physical therapy. Since then I haven't gone crippled from the pain again... Until last February. Ever since the issue years ago I've avoided chiropractors, because any adjustment that is off by the tiniest bit can rupture a disc in my spine, and the only times I've ever had adjustments in my neck it has caused significant pain for days or weeks afterward. But after 2 1/2 months of being bedridden and then very, very slow progress in recovery, a friend of mine (who is just as careful with her back as i am with mine) convinced me to try Dr. Baker and his team. They told me when i made the appointment to bring any x-rays I might have, so I did. They took more x-rays to complete what was missing, and then took an entire day to go over everything and make sure they knew what was going on with my spine. This right away impressed me a lot. I've had chiropractors who flat out wouldn't work on my back, and others who might have wanted x-rays but pooh-poohed my explanations of hyperflexibility, or told me it would go away with exercise. (Not at my level - and I have a VERY active job and stay fit, anyway.) Not only did Dr. Baker and Dr. Tong listen carefully to all of my explanations, study the x-rays, and explain to me a plan of moving very, very slowly without any adjustments at first, but they both remembered about the hyper flexibility issue, and adjusted how they would do things accordingly without my having to remind them! Because things are so delicate in my spine, they started with simply using their fingers to shift vertebrae by tiny millimeters, rather than trying to pop things back into place and damage weakened discs. The pain is in my lower back, but I expressed concern about doing anything with it while it was still inflamed. Dr. Baker agreed with me, and then told me that if they ever suggested something that I wasn't sure about, I was the only person who could feel my body and they wanted my feedback, and that my opinion overrode their plan. He actually thanked me for telling them my back was too inflamed to start in the lower portion! (I know, I nearly fainted, too.) So we started with my neck, continuing to give my lower back time to heal and calm down from the most recent injury. Even these mini adjustments in my neck helped the rest of my spine. Because of the x-rays they were also able to point out to me exactly where my spine was moving in ways that it shouldn't and could therefore cause problems in the future. It's a massive relief to know that somebody is thinking ahead to solve problems before they arise. I've been seeing them now for about two months. While I have a whole team of people working on my back in different ways, the chiropractic has been an invaluable part of that. For the first time in seven years I actually have hours at a stretch where I'm pain-free. My spine is working much better, both upper and lower now, and aches and pains I was not aware of before have made themselves felt by their absence! I must admit I'm great at being late, and I am amazed by their patience, especially over the last few weeks when I have managed to mis-schedule 1/3 of my appointments. (Sorry, guys!) Finally, I occasionally suffer from panic attacks. Once with Dr. Baker and once with Dr. Tong I have been in the position of having to fight one off. This is not a subtle thing and typically involves lots of deep breathing and tears - and that's if I succeed. Most people get extremely uncomfortable, tense, and often times a little freaked out when this happens. But both Dr. Baker and Dr. Tong took it in stride, speaking softly and asking what they could do to help, and offering reassuring words. That was a first for me! And from both of them! I'm glad I listened to my friend and took the chance. They are responsible, thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and compassionate. If you have a delicate spine, they will listen, move as slowly as needed, and are knowledgeable enough to help. If you have a great spine, they will make sure it stays that way! I came over to Baker Family Chiropractic when Zimmer Chiropractic merged offices. Its a bit further drive for us, but we are more than pleased with our care! Each of the doctors here are caring and work to ensure we feel better after our visits. The office staff is super friendly and amazing. They work tirelessly to make sure we are getting the care we need. Before I started my chiropractic care I could hardly move from a broken vertebrae sustained in high school and repeated injuries from dancing for so may years. Everything caught up to me in my 50's and I was in constant pain and unable to perform simple tasks. I refuse to take pharmaceuticals or have unneeded surgery. I started to gain weight and worried things would start to snowball if I didn't do something quickly. After seeking chiropractic care I was able to go from being in a state of constant pain to having some painful days occasionally. I have been diligent in my care plan for 2.5 years and am now on weekly maintenance. I'm honestly surprised to see so many 5 star reviews and such positive sentiment toward this office. I found the overall experience quite scammy and dishonest. It leads me to think that most of these reviews are fake. My experience - I went into Baker Chiropractic with hopes of fixing some alignment issues. In my consultation I quickly realized that this appointment only included a quick 10-15 minute consultation with the doctor to hear about how they can help you. In this consultation, they will upsell you into purchasing an initial package which includes a full exam, x-rays and a treatment plan for $320. I had never been to a chiropractor before so I thought in order to get treated and receive an alignment adjustment I probably needed to buy this upfront. The doctor explains that they'll do the exam and x-rays right away but they'll want you to come back the following day to review your x-rays and receive your treatment plan. In this consultation the doctor insisted that I bring my spouse to the next appointment in order to "be aligned on my treatment plan" which I inherently thought was odd and a little irritating as I'm a grown woman capable of making my own decisions. All that to say, I reluctantly paid the $320 fee and received a very creepy, half ass exam and then had my x-rays taken. I was then scheduled for a second appointment the following day where I was told we would go over my x-rays and start treatment. I left this initial consultation appointment extremely confused as I never received any treatment but again I assumed this was normal and that surely the next appointment I would receive some kind of treatment after reviewing my x-ray results. The following day I met with the doctor again and we reviewed my x-rays for about 10 mins. At this moment I was super hopeful! I could clearly see some major alignment issues and was eager to get treated. Instead of starting my first treatment or adjustment, I was immediately handed a paper that described my "treatment plan". My treatment plan was $5,000 over 16 weeks - coming in every single day for the first 2 weeks then moving to 3x a week. I was SHOCKED. In order to start treatment, I needed to decide and sign the contract right then and there. Again, I was asked where my spouse was and I quickly snapped that he had a job and I was capable of making my own decisions. It became clear that they ask for your spouse to come with you so that you can't use the excuse of "oh I need to go home and discuss this with my husband". Which is the exact excuse I used to get out of this uncomfortable scenario. I told the doctor I needed to go home to review everything and think about dropping $5K. I already had a feeling from the day before that something felt off with this office and I didn't like how they were running their business so I didn't intend to sign anything. The kicker to all of this - I NEVER RECEIVED ANY TYPE OF TREATMENT, NOTHING. I spent $320 essentially on x-rays which sure are great but I expected at lease 1 adjustment or something, anything even if for 5 minutes!! I immediately called my credit card company to dispute the $320 charge and I'm still working to get a refund. Another thing I found very sad, is that you'll see a lot of elderly people in this office coming every day for treatment. This makes me believe that those are the individuals who are falling for this scam and agreeing to pay such a high cost for treatment. The front desk staff is truly lovely and very friendly so I'm sure to an older individual they find this comforting in their every day routine. Shame on this business for preying on the elderly if that's who they're getting to pay for these costly treatment plans. I would highly discourage anyone from visiting this office and instead find another more reputable chiropractor or better yet a physical therapist. Fine people! Genuine, dedicated, professional. I brought them a very painful hip. I'd had a hip-replacement on the left side that was a success, but the right side had been compensating for too long leading up to the surgery, and walking was now painful on that side. As I write this, I am partway through my treatment plan at the clinic and already see improvement. Initial X-rays show you exactly what your bone structure looks like when you walk in their door. Been going here for over a year now. My wife is going now too. We love the care we receive at this chiropractic office. Dr. Baker takes care of all my back issues. He also has a really nice staff. I just recently tweaked my lower back and it was painful to get out of the car. Dr. Baker took me on a moments notice and I even came back the next day for my regularly scheduled appointment. Dr. Portillo was awesome!! He truly helped me out with lower back pain that has been accumulated due to soccer and work. He educated me to understand the problem, and was very attentive to my needs and hobbies. My passion as a soccer player requires me to have everything to be in proper alignment. I highly recommend Doctor Nick Baker. The whole staff are simply AMAZING! I started treatments two months ago. I have arthritis and a pinched nerve. I was living on Mortin and had to take some pain pills which I try to stay away. Although I'm not completely pain free my pain level is lower. Before Dr. Baker I had never seen a chiropractor because I thought I didn't need to see one. I prided myself on being a healthy individual who stays fit through working out, stretching, and focusing on mobility. I've never had any back issues up until I was going through my fire academy. I tweaked my back with just a few weeks left to go in the academy. It was a scary moment for me because I could barely walk or get out of bed without pain. I hadn't even graduated yet and I knew how long of a physically demanding career I had ahead of me. Being a paramedic firefighter requires me to perform at my best and healthiest when those who call 911 are at their worst. I found Dr. Baker through a google search and saw all the great reviews. I was under the impression that all I needed to do was get an adjustment and I'd be set. Dr. Baker did not want to adjust me until he did an x-ray first because he wanted to do it the right way and not cause any more damage. Luckily for me, it wasn't anything that was going to require surgery. He recommended I see him 3 times a week for 4 months. Within the first 3 weeks I was pain free just in time for my academy graduation and within the second month I was back to my normal strength when it came to lifting. My back feels stable with heavy lifts and I feel stronger than I ever have before. I continue to see Dr. Baker once a week because I always feel better after seeing him and is helping me maintain all the progress we have made. I also see it as an investment in my health and longevity. They have been so flexible with my ever changing last minute schedule and are always genuinely happy to see me that it makes my day better. Dr. Baker, Dr. Tong and his team are exceptional, i always suffered with low back pain and got it adjusted only when it hurt, but never maintained the treatment care. Once i felt comfortable after that first visit, i never looked back to search for another chiropractor in the past 3yrs. The flexibility to even come late evenings on a weekday and mid morning on a saturday is a blessing indeed. These Doctors and assistants are taking extra time out of their own life to care for patients suffering from a silent disease. After being in a car accident, I was referred to Dr. Baker's office because of severe neck and back pain. After a quick set of x-rays, I found out that I have been living with some pretty bad alignment and bone deterioration issues that had also been causing pain for years before. I was skeptical at first how chiropractic care could fix these problems but after just a few visits I felt the difference. Before I went into Baker Family Chiropractic Center I felt broken my back was in so much pain that it was unbearable, there was lots of Sleepless nights because the pain was so unbearable. After making the call his team brought me in that same day and was able to assess my condition and quickly determine what the problem was and came up with a treatment plan.
