This morning I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and a Coke, pulled up my car to pay, and asked the young man at the window if I could get a handful of Original Hot Sauces. He frowns and says, "Gosh, I don't think I can do that. Let me ask my manager Tammy, I don't want her to yell at me." I tell the kid, "I use a packet for every couple of bites, can I get eight packets?" The emasculated kid replies, "Let me ask Tammy, I don't want her to get mad at me." He closes the window and asks Tammy about the hot sauce, then gives me my burrito and says, "Tammy says you can have four packets." Then Tammy yells in the background, "Who needs that much hot sauce? Newsflash, Tammy: I'm not you, nor are the other customers you are driving away with your controlling and biased attitude. You know what most drive thru food establishments are missing? Customer service. Don't you hate when you are ordering and they keep asking if that's all you're ordering after every item? Me too. Thankfully, we stopped by this Bakers location because I was starving and on the verge of being hangry. The lady taking our order was so nice, so that already put our experience at 4 stars! When I mean nice, I mean like the type of customer service you expect at Chick-fil-a and then to our surprise the lady at the next drive thru window was just as nice! That's hard to come by nowadays. I decided to stop here on my way to Vegas. I've been wanting to try their habanero spicy ketchup. This was the item that intrigued me so much that I just had to stop and try. I got off the 15 freeway turned left and it's on the right hand side. Very easy location to get to. I parked my car and ooh wee the weather was so hot and quickly went inside. I wanted to go in so I can see the complete menu and decide what I would like to try. I noticed immediately that they offer both of the typical American and Mexican fast foods. Basically burgers or burritos lol I decided to order a junior twin meal which comes with a burger, crunchy taco, fries and drink. For my drink I changed it to a pineapple island shake. I chose this because of the signage they had outside. My friend order the combination burrito. After ordering I sat in a booth because I planned to dine in. Once our order is done they will call your number and you go to the counter to pick up the tray of food. Then they ask you what kind of sauce you would like. I asked for hot sauce, spicy ketchup and ketchup. I'm so excited but gotta let my camera eat before I eat. If you don't know what that means it means I gotta get my food pics before I get started on my meal. Finally the day has come for me to try the habanero spicy ketchup! Omfg!!!!! Where has this condiment been all my life? I'm so in love with this ketchup. It's not super spicy but the lil kick makes a big difference in taste. The burger was great too. Seasoned very nicely and the buns were soft and toasted. The crunchy taco meat was delicious and seasoned very well and with the hot sauce it was a great crunchy bite. As I'm eating this I'm in awe at how happy I got because everything was tasty and seasoned perfectly. The shake tasted just like a fast food shake not good nor bad. My friend was also in love with the food. She got the burrito and absolutely raved about it. Btw she's not a fan of fast food but loved the burritos here so much we ordered another one for her to take to Vegas and we stopped by again on our way back to L.A. to get her 2 more to take home lol. I love Bakers but my experience with their new addition of a chocolate sundae was a huge disappointment but what was far worse was the managers (Faith) response to me. When I explained this doesnt look like the picture she said well that's what you get. I responded with I will contact corporate to show them a picture of false advertising. Althought their veggie chili cheese fries are pretty good. I personally don't care much for their burritos. They aren't bad but they aren't great either. Personally prefer the burritos from Del Taco. It doesn't take away from the burgers which are pretty good in their own right. Flavors are all there. Their customer service here is great. Came in for dinner and have to say we are super disappointed with this location. I ordered a triple baker with cheese and was given a double baker. When they took it back you can clearly hear the conversations they are having, cook was told to just add the patty and "make it look like new". Wife asked for pickles on the side for her double baker, we got charged for it and we did not get them. Went to go ask for the pickles and they tried charging me again for some. We also ordered nachos to share and I don't know if they changed them up or what. But they are not good anymore. We also always got a salsa with the nachos before and was told we now have to pay for that? Staff has no sense of urgency when it comes to getting food out when asked. When I asked for the pickles they took their sweet time to get them since they were to busy chatting it up about their new tattoos. Customer service should always be first and this staff lacks that! We noticed the drive through was packed, so was the parking lot. We parked in the dirt between a couple or trailers. The restaurant was also very full, the line was long. I can't set foot in San Berdo County without stopping at a Bakers. Their hamburgers blow In-N-Outs away. I love them more than any other fast food burger that I have ever tried. My family and I have been going to Baker's for 40+years and have seen the quality go WAY DOWN, especially since the kids have taken over. Went to the Main Street Hesperia location on 2/21/2023 (taco Tuesday). The shells were chewy, the cheese was almost non-existent and the meat had so much fat in it I had to give it to my dogs. Obviously they're using a lower quality meat now. $30.00 for some tacos of that quality...SHAME ON YOU. When Mike the manager (now retired) was there it was never this bad. So, save your money people and go somewhere that is better quality, especially for the price. read more

In the drive thru I was given some other customers drink at first. I notified the employee at the window and was given my drink after returning the other drink. I asked for hot sauce and ketchup. I was given no ketchup but was given a handful of red hot sauce. The flour tortillas on my soft tacos were cold and crumbled when I ate my tacos. I really used to enjoy the flour tortillas on the soft tacos. The tortillas I was given tasted bad and needed to be warmed up. A thinner but better quality tortilla would be much better. This Baker's used to be great approximately 5-6 years ago. I really liked the food and drinks. The people working the drive thru window and counter also seemed more friendly. I didn't know their menu prior to entering the restaurant but was delighted to see that they served Mexican food as well as your traditional burgers. I went with the Single Baker combo with a side of chili. Now there's something that you don't hear often. The burger was very forgettable in my opinion but the chili wasn't bad. It was really cold that day so chili sounded pretty good and it wasn't bad. Hell yes I'm giving it 5 stars. The food has great flavor and is made to order. Once you taste the food it is hard to believe it came from a drive thru window. The shredded beef burritos and quesadillas here are great and when I checked in this time on yelp there was a check in offer for a free chicken sandwich. I figured it would go to my dog in the backseat but I took a bite and ended up eating half of it. this isn't a fancy place it's just a place to get good food. They have burgers, tacos, breakfast and have vegetarian options. Convenient for eating on the road. I will say avoid their sauce packets. One tasted like a mixture of tabasco and arby's sauce. LOVE Baker's! On our way from Vegas to a Dodger game in L.A. we decided to make a pit stop at all our favorite food places and grab a little something since we don't have these food options in Vegas. Stopped by really quick to grab a bite to eat. Didn't really know what to try but one of my friends is Vegan and eats there all the time. I ordered a vegetarian soft taco and the cashier handed me a coupon for buy one, get one free. Sweet! I got one soft and one hard. The filling they use is a soy based product that was seasoned very well, you would never think it was not ground beef. Only downside is the soft taco I ate first was already falling apart from the tortilla being saturated from the soy and by the time I got to my hard taco, there was no hard left. I grabbed my order to go so did not eat it right away. I think if I had eaten there, it would of been much better. They also have some cool sauces and ketchup.
