ants in bathroom
Jenn F.

Dirty room. Some weird gooey ick on the bathroom walls and mirror. Bathroom infested with ants. Mold on bathroom ceiling. No bedding basically one thin blanket like a sheet. mattresses are terrible, probably 20 yrs old... eww. Patios are not cleaned out. Towels are the size of a tea towel. maintenance people give very unfriendly looks. Pool is cloudy and smells of too much chemicals like they are covering up some nasty water so we decided to not get in. Hot tub not hot I dipped my toe in but was cloudy as well so just went back to mold filled outdated overpriced room. Rude front dest and owner Jay. Do not go here. Lots of better resorts around here. Was constantly harassed about a dog barking when it was the people next door. Take the time to read the other reviews of how dirty this place is. I wish I did. Apparently Jay is the new owner and has generic AI responses to his reviews and has not addressed any of the complaints in previous reviews. As a "resort" owner he should be ashamed of the ran down state this "resort" is in.

I really wish there was a way to write a 0 star review. VACATIONERS BEWARE! This is possibly one of the worst resorts in the Dells and I regret calling it a resort when in reality this mimics a motel more than a resort. The only benefit of this resort is that the rooms are somewhat quiet. Note you will still hear the people above and or below you, but you wont hear the people in the hall and or to your sides. Now for the negatives: This "resort" is very run down, dirty, and dated. Coming into our room, the first thing you will notice are the sheets that are stained with dirt. Looking around the room, we noticed massive cracks in both the walls and the ceiling ( see photos). The mirror above our in room tub even had an unidentifiable massive mark on it and rust within the framing of it ( see photos). The bed was probably one of the worst features of the room. It was by far the least comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The bed, in my opinion, must have been over 30 years old. It was a spring mattress with 0 give and made loud sounds whenever you moved. It was near impossible to even sleep in that bed and me and my partner both woke up extremely sore because of how bad that bed is. The pools on property are somewhat small for the size of the resort as well. The indoor pool, at all times, was overpopulated with children so you really could never relax in there even if you wanted to. One of the scariest "features" of this resort is in the basement "Delton room". We had this room rented out for a private event. On the ceiling tiles it looked like, in my opinion, what resembles mold. This is right above an area that is a counter so food would be served here ( see photo). Overall, I wish I could give this resort a 0/5 stars. It honestly feels like a motel. You are on the far side of the lake so you are a bit far from the strip. There are no restaurants on site either ( or even in walking distance) so you are dependent on driving anywhere to get food. The staff seems very distant and that they do not care about their jobs either. If you are looking for a resort to stay in the Dells, pay the extra $30 a night and stay at the Wilderness right down the road.

Patched wall.

So disappointed. Celebrating our 22 yr anniversary and to put it mildly, the room is a dump. Reserved a double Queen with kitchenette at $250 a night (2dogs at $20 each). It's is Not worth it one bit. The room was filthy upon entering. Had to call housekeeping as the carpet had not been vacuumed or sheets changed even on the pull out sofa. The floor in kitchenette and bathroom was dirty filthy. There's a dehumidifier in room and bucket is filled with black mold! They post they are CDC compliant and all rooms are cleaned and sanitized. They are NOT! We are hoping we don't get bitten by bedbugs tonight. Will continue review afterwards with any other updates. Please review all pictures I've submitted. Considering reporting to local health department. Update: I gave the owner a week's chance to respond to my complaint including writing the resort an email and have not received a response. We will never return.

We stayed here for 4 days. The reception person was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Got a DIRTY room with DIRTY SHOWER HEAD and SPIDER WEB on the ceiling. We asked receptions for a housekeeping to clean out the spider web and we were told that they are going to come tomorrow since no other rooms were available. We never got one. We have not seen a single housekeeping member to clean our room, take the garbage or change the towels. Other than a cute, small beach there is noting nice about this hotel. We are very disappointed and definitely not coming back here!

Me and the boyfriend took a weekend trip to the dells for my 32nd bday! We had missed vacationing and doing fun outdoorsy stuff. So glad that I chose this hotel for my bday weekend- it has a lot of good things to do. We had a room which had views of the lake, which was cool. There was a neighbor whose dog kept barking- place is dog friendly! (But they're not allowed on the beach :(... kind of a far walk to food, but we did it. It would be cool if they had food on the premises- it does look like there's space next to the arcade. We didn't play games but he did win me a duck for my Jeep. There was a pool and also a hot tub inside. We were gonna try it but we had other plans for our night. After a long kayak trip around Lake Delton (they let you take them if there's any left- first come first serve and can keep them until dark) & then we enjoyed s'mores at the fire pit! They had an outside pool too, but it wasn't open yet. Bet this place will be awesome in the summer time- I have plans to come back!

Just noticed this property is not BBB a credited. Could this be because they say they are pet friendly but if your dog barks, you are asked to go check on it even if it is during the middle of the day? This happened to us! If you have a pet friendly hotel, then guests who are there should realize, they may hear a dog bark from time to time. We left the resort one day early as our pet barked and the front desk made us feel guilty that our dog barks. It was at 2 pm in the afternoon. I spoke to Dawn, the owner regarding it and she said we can't have our guests unhappy. Well, at 7:15 am I was not happy when a baby woke me up crying 2 doors down. Dawn was not a very pleasant woman when I pointed out to her that our neighbor was smoking marijuana and had put a towel under the door to hide the odor. Dawn is a very angry, ugly person. She just wants people to rent rooms regardless of the rules. People were smoking on decks and at the pool. It was very unclean. She doesn't take criticism well and was cruel and disrespectful. I would not recommend this resort.

There are 4 cottages all with the same layout. Each cottage has a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite with a fireplace, full kitchen complete with a gas range. In the center of each, there is a one bedroom suite with a room exclusively for the hottub and a small kitchen. It is rented as either a two bedroom (either end of the cottage), three bedroom (an end and the center one bedroom), five bedroom (the entire cottage). It is a timeshare. It can be rented out. We have stayed there at least five times. It is peaceful there even with the construction going on. They recently renovated to make more modern.

I noticed on the website right away that sundara had construction going on. So when I called to reserve I asked right away exactly How the construction would affect our stay. They assured me that where we were going to be staying they wouldn't be working and that all the work was being done on the way opposite side of the resort. So I went Ahead and gladly paid $577 for my over night stay and couples massage. The room was awsome and the massages were great! But then to get woken up at 7:30am with loud banging literally right next door was frustrating. I think it's great your trying to imprOve and expand but then be honest with me and I would have waited to spend my $577 when the construction was over. My friend works construction everyday and took today (Monday) off of work to get away and relax with me and we dealt with it the whole time. Also I think it's pretty unsanitary to have the breakfast food literally NEXT to rooms that are being worked on. I could see dust coming from a room very close to wear all the fruit and other food was laying out.

The indoor and outdoor pools are absolutely amazing--perfect for kids and adults alike. The outdoor pool has a super fun vibe, and the indoor pool is spotless and a great option for rainy or cooler days, or a night swim. The rooms were super clean -- genuinely well-kept and comfortable. You can tell the staff takes real pride in maintaining the property. Everything felt fresh and inviting. The management is incredibly friendly and responsive. From the moment we checked in with Brad (owner) we felt welcomed. They were happy to answer questions, offer suggestions on local eats and attractions, and really seemed to care about our experience. The location is ideal--just far enough from the hustle of downtown to be quiet and relaxing, but still super convenient to everything Wisconsin Dells has to offer. We were able to walk or take a quick drive to shops, restaurants, and the waterparks. Bonus points for the nostalgic charm of the property--it has that classic Dells feel but is updated and well-maintained. A perfect mix of retro and modern. We'll definitely be back. The location is convenient--close to all the Dells attractions and right by the freeway, which made getting around easy. The hotel feels modern, and the service was good. I appreciated the text message follow-ups, which made communication simple. The beds were more comfortable than what we've experienced at other places in the area. The free breakfast was a highlight with plenty of options, and having coffee available all day was a big plus. The pool area was nice as well, and the slide was great for kids. The main downside was that the room could have been cleaner. We also had to ask for extra services like additional blankets and towels. Because of that, it wasn't quite a five-star stay, but overall it was a solid experience and we'd consider staying again.

The indoor water area has a small party room attached to it that we were able to use for food and presents. The couple things I'd say could use improvement is that the hotel rooms are pretty small and the indoor area isn't very well lit once the sun goes down. There was minimal overhead lighting which wasn't great for the younger kids. Overall it was a nice experience if you don't want to splurge or get overwhelmed by the bigger indoor waterparks in the Dells!

Disclaimer, I've never been here, so I had no idea where the water slides were, and I did not have a map. So i obviously asked the WATERPARK staff where the slides were, they looked at me like I was crazy and said "in the water parks.?" I felt embarrassed so I thanked them and left. Eventually found the slides but still, quite rude and unfair. Waterslides were very fun though! Loved going down them, especially the hurricane/funnel one. Not a lot of seating though, and very bad security or service. We had towels stolen and I even caught a family trying to steal me and my friends towels and phones while we were swimming, thankfully my stomach hurt so I caught them and nothing major was taken. My best friend and I called this place on a roadtrip because we found it on google and thought it was worth a shot and Chris the owner answered and was so kind and thoughtful that we detoured and stopped to meet him there in the middle of winter. A lot of "we're sorry" energy, not a lot of actual substance. She did say they were putting a credit on our account for the trouble. Cool. Great. Love that for us. Except... shockingly... there was no credit on the folio at checkout. Not hidden, not partial, not mislabeled. Just straight up not there. Which honestly feels perfectly on brand for the entire experience. Promise something, deliver vibes. Also, fun little bonus: apparently when you complain, they tag your account internally. So now I've got the digital equivalent of a frowny face next to my name for having the audacity to expect basic competence. Appreciate that. Love the one employee brave enough to mention it though. And for anyone who's seen their social media replies where they say "our leadership team will follow up" or "we'll make this right"... I've got zero evidence that any of that actually happens in a meaningful way. It reads like customer service theater. Lots of optics, very little follow-through. If anyone from corporate is reading this, maybe audit that pipeline, because from the outside it looks completely disconnected from reality. Now for the actual stay. Miserable doesn't even begin to cover it. Checked in at a kiosk, which should have been the easy part, until a staff member decided personal boundaries were optional and started tapping my screen like it was a demo unit at Best Buy. I explicitly said I didn't want a charge-enabled wristband, and they added it anyway. Nothing builds trust like unauthorized spending access tied to your room. Then came the wristband confusion: two different colors, zero explanation, and the distinct feeling I'd accidentally joined a very disorganized timeshare. Check-in took about 80 minutes. Not exaggerating. That included a completely unnecessary trek back to the main lobby from the Hillside building because apparently this place runs on side quests. At that point it felt less like a resort and more like a low-budget escape room where the prize is a working room key. Speaking of which, the room door didn't work. So that was a fun little encore. Just sitting there waiting for maintenance like it's the final act of a very boring play. Pro tip: block off 2 to 3 hours for check-in. Bring snacks. Maybe a novel. Even if they offered me three free nights, I'd pass. Some experiences are just too memorable, and not in the way they were going for. NEVER GOING BACK
