Everyone is so friendly. Try the Frozen Cappuccino! It is an absolute must; - So delicious and will give you a kick to get your day going. Very cool and chill vibe; Plenty of relaxing seating. I bought one of their Amish sugar cookies, which was a very soft sugar cookie, almost cake-like in texture, but still very much a cookie, which then had a layer of perfectly prepared vanilla buttercream, and then a drizzle of chocolate ganache. This normally would not be something I'd buy or eat, but when I saw it in the display case, it was callin' my name, and I'm soooooooo glad it did. It was spectacular. Soft, fragrant, buttery, creamy, sweet but not overly, with just a hint of salt. Perfection. I also bought a pint of their banana cream pudding. Again, a tout from my son-in-law (we tend to like the same kinds of foods), and it was AMAAAAAZING. Yes, in my opinion, it easily surpasses Magnolia Bakery's claim to the best banana pudding. I ate the entire amount by myself. EASILY. What flavor !!!!!!!! I also bought some little lemon cake/cookie, a Lemon Blossom, I believe... not really sure how to describe it, but it had a lovely lemon flavor, and I ate it in one bite. Lastly, I bought a lemon blueberry scone, and that was excellent, too. They had a number of cupcake flavors that all looked great, but I don't typically buy cupcakes. It was half sheet cake with lots of space to work with. Anyways, when it came time to cut the cake for service, the cake crumbled under the weight of the knife. I was overseeing the process and the cake cutter was trying his best to achieve a decent portion intact, but with litte success. I immediately tasted the cake before it went my 40 person party. It was moist and flavorful but it crumbled to the touch. I couldn't put my finger on what was causing it, I felt like something was maybe missing from the recipe. It was later in the day when it came to me the answer to my problem. The cake it self had been made fresh, then frozen, thawed out, frosted and decorated. The freezing of the cake made it crumble at time of service. Very disappointing. I didn't last minute order this cake, so why they used frozen cake for my order I cannot understand. Convenience for them I guess, but I was not informed that previously frozen cake would be an option. Each and every piece of cake just crumbled on the plate and presentation was horrible. We were stuck with an inferior cake. I will not be returning to this bakery.

Some flavors I find can be either hit or miss depending what it is. I recently like the Martha Stewart collection they released this week. There was a special deal they were also giving out two chocolate chip cookie thins for free. The thins were perfectly soft and chewy. Just enough saltiness to the sweet. The coconut layer cake had light fluffy layers like a cloud. It was just enough sweetness with layers of light creme and shredded coconut and toasted coconut on top. Service from the employees is usually good. They greet every person who enter the store saying welcome to the store. So always a great customer service experience.

What I was told from one of the other merchants is that they take orders and do very nice specialty cakes. They also have their own agenda of when they are there and not. So for other bakery needs go to the bakery down the block at Riesterer"s. I did. I can not say how good Sunflower bakery foods are.
