This review is for the pizza making class.
IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY.
I bought two tickets for my mom and I to attend as a Christmas present and we both LOVED it.
To start, the test kitchen is to the back of the chefs house, in a brand new, renovated barn. There is a very spacious driveway for parking. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful and super clean. There is an upstairs loft area with an incredible bathroom. It is literally picture perfect.
The two chefs who run it are very friendly and personable. They start you off with beer, white or red wine and are clearly from the restaurant industry, because they never let you go empty. They also start off with a sampling of a calzone which was delicious...you will not leave here hungry!
Then, it's to business. You learn about the dough making process and recommended ingredients. Their dough must sit for 3 days, so you make dough and they store it for you to take home and you can use when it's ready in 3 days or you can freeze it for 30-60 days and use it later. You are already set up to make your first pizza at home!
Then, they give you dough that is ready to use, and you start pizza making! And get this, you make TWO pizzas. I was initially nervous, I am not a cook and I've never made pizza at home, but they made it so easy and are always there to lend a helping hand. The first pizza was simple: tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil. The second pizza, they gave you an array of meat and veggie toppings to make it your own. The pizzas were DELICIOUS. The best homemade pizza I've ever eaten, and I would go as far to say, you may never have to eat out again! You could eat it right then and there, hot out of the oven. The leftovers were boxed up for you and you take it home.
At the end, they also had a sampling of steak. Melt in your mouth. Absolutely fantastic.
You also get info on their baking steel products which include the mini or full griddle, and why they are the best for pizza making (and steak making). My mom ended up buying the mini griddle and she can't wait to use it.
The cost for the night was $75 and we were there for about 2-2.5 hours. I also learned they have a pizza demo class/ wine tasting for pairing with different pizzas. They basically cook for you and you eat and drink! It is less frequent than the pizza making class but can be found in their online calendar. It's also cheaper at only $59. I would absolutely give that class a try. With that being said I would also totally do the pizza making class again with my boyfriend because I know he would love it too.
Overall it's a really fun night out. It's a great gift idea too. My class was about 9 people which was perfect; not too big. It would be great if you could get a bunch of friends together for it. You won't be disappointed! read more
