Since then: no delivery. No communication. No callback. No refund discussion. Every call we make gets dodged or ignored. Purchased a refrigerator 2 days ago. Not only doesn't it work, but NE Appliance doesn't do repairs. I was told, "to be patient and wait for Samsung to respond. Things are slow due to the pandemic." I have been waiting close to an hour for Samsung to respond. If you can't support customers during the pandemic, you shouldn't sell equipment during the pandemic. When I mentioned that my receipt said I had 7 days to return the product, the sales representative smugly replied, "The sales rep should have stamped your receipt no returns during COVID, but he is new. If you read further, you will see you can't return anything that has been connected." They don't stand behind their products. I got my new fridge on Monday (delivered by the staff) when it was delivered there was a huge dent the entire length of the freezer, the delivery man said it would be replaced and someone would call me within 24 hours I have not heard from ANYONE!! After going food shopping and filling the fridge and freezer with 400 dollars worth of food, neither the fridge nor the freezer are getting cold and now I have to throw out all of my food. I called the phone number twice this morning and no one is picking up. I am highly enraged as tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I had to throw out all of our dinner food. Go elsewhere. Their products are truly damaged and do not last. Save the nightmare of losing thousands of dollars, like us. I wanted to love this store. It had the best prices - but we have found on two occasions why that is the case. If you are lucky enough for your unit to work and last more than 10 years, great. If you are like me and both products fail - I am sure you will have the same experience. After two years of my second purchase - my unit died, again. I called for some support - and called -- and called -- and called. No one helped. Our voice mails went unanswered. We finally got someone and they told us to call the manufacturer, it was "not our problem". If customer service was friendlier - and gave a little more support - I could accept the reality of my situation and loss of over $3,000 in products -- but I am just so unhappy with my experience and feel people should know. I had never shopped for appliances before and came here based on the recommendation of my mom's contractor. I met with Judy and we checked out washers & dryers for my boyfriend's house. She was very helpful and thorough ... we had to measure everything to make sure it would fit through the narrow doorways. Once the appliance was delivered, I ran into some serious problems with the washer. The warranty service techs were unable to fix it, and after several months I called Judy again. I had been in touch in between service appointments to keep her in the loop, and after the 3rd she said she'd speak to the owner. Yesterday my brand new washer was delivered and i couldn't be more happy. I am so pleased with Judy's customer service and with the company as a whole, doing whatever they could to make their customer happy again. I would highly recommend this store to anyone! read more

Great prices! If you don't mind having a dent on the side of your washing machine, and who would care? It goes in your basement most of the time. Also you can buy an appliance here and order the replacement part if you want and it still is cheaper than going to Lowe's or Home Depot. How do u sell an appliance that breaks the week the warranty is about to expire. You cannot get thru to them until after warranty does and then they wash their hands of all responsibility saying that we now have to deal with Frigidaire. 4 repair calls later and micro still broken. When I first came in I thought that they delivered great service. I bought a washer, it looked great, they installed it for me. For the rest of the week, the washer would not work properly because the people who installed did not properly level the machine. They repeatedly tell us that they have this issue all the time with clients buying Speed Queen products. So why didn't they make sure it was leveled before they left? It's been absolutely frustrating and I won't be back. I even sent in my girlfriend and she bought a new stove with them. Absolutely terrible. I hope the stove doesn't give us trouble too. read more

My review is only for the customer service that I received over the phone. I called because my 6 month old freezer's light went out and will not come back on (did not purchase it here, but Best Buy told me to screw). The woman on the phone helped me locate the model & serial, found and shared the phone number to the manufacturer and explained what to tell them step by step. She was friendly and gave me more information than at the store I purchased it at! I would certainly give them a try if I have any needs in the future. We had a really good experience at New England Appliance. We were greeted right when we walked in the door with our toddler in tow. They had a freezer full of ice pops, dum Dums, a coloring table and play kitchen. Lifesavers when shopping with a two year old! We told Larry L. that we were looking for a dishwasher, but wanted something budget friendly. He showed us a good selection in the scratch and dent area, discussed the features they offered etc. It was all very low pressure and easy. We chose a scratched model (barely visible) for a deep discount. They loaded it up in my car and off we went. Would definitely return! read more

I went here because I needed a new air conditioner that specifically could be installed through the wall, and I needed a specific dimension. They had exactly what I needed. They originally quoted me a price of 319.99, but then realized it was a slightly different model #, and the price was 359.99. I then found it online at Walmart. Com for 322.00, and asked if they would match the price. They wouldn't match the price because it wasn't available locally, and Walmart was selling it for less than it cost NE Appliance. There was absolutely no effort made to retain me as a customer, and keep the sale local. Poor customer service. I've been in retail management for 30 years; you don't piss off a customer over $37. Great customer service, Laura was awesome! I spent about 4.5 hours shopping for appliances ( we are renovating two apartments). She took the time to explain the difference between scratch and dent, as well as their regular section. We went through each item checking for scratches and dents to find the best ones. She was not pushy at all and we actually had a lot of fun! The manager was kind and outgoing, thanking me for making my purchases. I am back again for a second time to purchase a washer/dryer. We will be purchasing all of our rental property appliances from this location. I switched to buying appliances at NE App because they serviced what they sold. Sure enough when my stuff broke under warranty they said the part was on backorder and by the time the part came in, they closed their service department for good. Microwave broke in April 2017 and I am now chasing down the manufacturer to replace the part under warranty. NE App had better start cutting prices because their commitment to service what they sell was their competitive advantage. Now they are just another Amazon or Walmart. read more

This company is terrible. Bought a dishwasher that had to be fixed four times in the first four months. But that's not the worst. Our 3 1/2 year old refrig. caught fire the day before thanksgiving. We had purchased the protection plan but it ran out after 3 years. (The average life if a frig is supposed to be 15 years.) Had a good experience here last year buying a refrigerator. That time we had, friendly service, decent delivery service, decent communications. This time, not so much. Our salesperson, Josh, first quoted us a price on an oven that was $200+ more than what was on store's website. It wasn't posted, as the oven wasn't in stock, so I don't know where he got the price. It felt dishonest. He then proceeded to talk to my wife and me in a less than professional way e.g. "I'm going to give you some homework to do..." (I'm 68, tell me what to read and where to sign. I managed customer service for most of 40 years). Finally, after not hearing from, well, anyone, for 9 days, we called this morning and were told that the oven was in since Tuesday (it's Friday now) and had been referred to their delivery service. $1500 and we're not worth a phone call. I went over and picked it up. We'll get it installed. We're probably on our final appliance buys as I approach 70, so they won't lose much by losing us. Maybe Josh knew that, so he didn't care much. Disappointing. 2 stars, basically for having the oven advertised online, and for getting it to the store, where it would have sat until... God only knows when. read more

We purchased a refrigerator and dual-fuel range from New England Appliance. Two years later, we lost one of the burner caps from the range's cooktop. Purchasing a replacement online meant buying a set of four (we only needed one) for nearly $100. I called Eric Wilson at New England Appliance and he offered us a replacement at no cost. We visited the showroom and Eric gave us the right replacement part off their display model at no charge. This was extraordinarily helpful and saved us a hundred bucks. To me, this represents a high level of loyalty to the customer; I am grateful to this business and recommend them highly. read more

I called last night about a replacement part for my dryer and they asked if I could come in with it to have a look and see if they could match it. I walked in today around noon time and everyone greeted me with a smile on their face and made me feel welcome. I mentioned that I had called earlier and that I needed a replacement part and a gentleman stepped right up and told me to follow him. He took me right to the back where we spoke with another man in the back room and they both immediately starting searching for the part. They found it very quickly and had me in and out in about 10 mins. My experience was awesome and highly recommend this place to everyone and anyone. read more

Horrible Customer Service. This ordeal has been nothing short of a nightmare. I purchased a stove and refrigerator, brand new, and spent close to $3000. The delivery was botched to the point where I cxl the entire order. After a myriad of excuses from Shannon, my delivery arrived 10/18 and shocker, wrong fridge. I called Michelle, the manager who advised Danielle was one number off when placing the order. As I confirmed the delivery the night before, I had given my old fridge to a family member and it was gone Sat. am. Michelle politely advised that she could not allow the delivery crew to take in the new fridge while they ordered the correct one as "they could not resell it as new"! She then asked if I could come to Quincy to get a loaner. REALLY. I shopped around the same day, found the same product line for $200 less. Here's the kicker. When I phoned Michelle to cxl the order her only reply was " I don't blame you"! What manager says that! I was entirely shocked by their impervious attitude and even more shocked that Michelle left me to figure out a solution, ya know the customer that just spent $3000. If you are looking for a scratch and dent appliance, maybe this is the place to shop but please arrive with your own mode of transporting it home. Better yet, check out other appliance stores as they usually offer the same discounts. I am more disappointed in the lack of customer service and their overall and utter lack of concern or compassion for the customer. read more

We bought a dishwasher and induction oven both GE Profile. The oven didn't work properly. When we tried to return it they gave us a hard time. The salesman was very pleasant, even dropping the $$ of the dishwasher more but the female manager we dealt with when returning the oven was very rude and practically accused my wife of lying. Totally upsetting so buyer beware. As soon as you get the appliance home check to make sure that it works properly. If you have to return it make sure you have your papers and stand your ground. read more

Our gas cooktop needed urgent replacement. We needed a very specific make and model, Bosch 500 series, to fit the existing cutout in our granite countertop. Tried all the major box stores and several companies online- no one had it in stock or with any kind of timely delivery date. We literally physically stumbled upon New England Appliance and went in on a whim. Josh was extremely helpful, found the exact cooktop, was able to get it delivered to the store for pickup the next day, and called us exactly when promised to let us know it was in. The worker at the loading dock put in in the back of our car and off we went. Great service and follow through. Great price too- matched the best price we saw online. Will definitely use them for all our future needs. read more

Would not recommend them for service. Had an oven that wasn't working properly, and the serviceman was quickly able to identify the problem and ordered the part. Said it would take a week. After two weeks, called about it and someone said they would call me back. No one ever called. Called two weeks later - same thing. Finally, 6 weeks after the initial visit, I called and they told me the part was in and set up an appointment. No one ever showed. When I called to inquire if the service man was running late, they told me I wasn't on the schedule. Set up yet another time, and received a call 30 minutes prior telling me "they hoped I had someone strong and burly" at home to help because they didn't another person to spare to assist with an in-unit oven. At this point, I cancelled and called another vendor. Hopefully, my stove will be working properly for Christmas as I missed Thanksgiving. read more

Bad experience here. My stove broke unexpectedly, 4 days before we were throwing a big party at our house. I was referred to NE Appliance, and when I walked in the door the first thing I said was that I would only purchase if they could guarantee delivery before Thursday (it was Monday). We picked out an appliance we liked and when it came time to discuss delivery, apparently the only person with access to the scheduling system had gone home for the day. This is a condensed version of what ensued: Me: "can you guarantee delivery by Thursday?" NEA: "no" Me: "well then can you give me a ballpark on how long it usually takes to deliver?" NEA: "no" Me: "OK, well can the scheduler call me 1st thing in the AM to let me know when I could expect delivery?" NEA: "no, you have to call her" Me: "OK, that's weird, that seems like a tiny thing to ask if you want my business, but when I call tomorrow, will you take my credit card over the phone? I told you can only purchase if the delivery date is by Thursday" NEA: "no sorry, you have to purchase tonight" Me: "GRRRR I'm going to BestBuy" Listen friends--I understand that the answer might have been "no sorry, we can't deliver that soon." The trouble is that, despite the fact that I made it clear that I could ONLY purchase from them if they could meet that need, they continued to push and push the sale, and treat me like I was crazy/stupid/a huge b*tch for not going along.* In the end though, I feel like I dodged a bullet. This store sells open box merchandise. I can't imagine, if there had been a problem with the stove, what they would treat me like AFTER they had my money. I got a great deal at BestBuy, delivered in time, and NE Appliance gets a 1 star review. *Not to mention, why is the 1 person who has access to this crucial information going home while the store is still open for business? I can't be the only customer who cares about when my oven/refrigerator/washer/dryer is arriving. read more

I bought a fridge here. The model I bought was missing the dispenser tray beneath the ice and water dispenser. I was told it was ordered but I never received it. I went back when I bought my washer and dryer and inquired about it. I gave my information to one of the workers but still have heard nothing. Promises, promises, then you are forgotten about. Delivery was terrible. They did not even realize they had to take packing clips off. They left the refrigerator in the middle if the floor and not assembled. Also dented door attempting to force in. They supposedly ordered a new door, but I have still yet to see it. Ordered an incorrect stove vent, which I had to call three times to get them to order. Maybe that's why I got the incorrect one. Was promised that they would come and assemble refridge, never happened. Never hooked up washer and dryer. I spent over $9000.00. Spend the extra and go elsewhere, savings not worth it! read more

the excitement just doesn't stop. i had no idea this was here. our realtor put me on to replace my 20+ year old stove and microwave and i wish i'd done it long ago. this place offers new items, last year's models, and "scratch and dent" items with the latter 2 being at a fairly steep discount. i fell in love with a restaurant-grade 6 burner, dual oven, downdraft grill dealie but that, of course, was for some other kitchen, some other time, possibly in some other land. the selection was good and the pricing was fair. of course, just after buying we saw the identical microwave (floor model) at home depot for about $20 less but (a) it's $20 and (b) new england appliance had the selection for us to get matching items as opposed to the hit-or-miss/mismatched nature of floor-model sales elsewhere. they get in new items all the time - it's basically the t.j. maxx of appliance stores. if you don't see what you're looking for, find out when the next truck is coming and go back. the sales staff was ... selling appliances. furniture stores, appliance stiores - they all seem very glengarry glen ross to me. delivery/haul away is available through an independent contractor (ours was midnight movers - $70) and that took a few days to set up. you can pick it up yourself, if you're pick-up-truck-enabled, but i'm not. otherwise, it was an easy experience and we got nice items well under budget. read more

Worst Service Ever. These people should be embarressed, but the sad part is, they are not. My wife an I went to get a new set of appliances around mother's day. At that point, the people were helpful, we found what we were looking for, placed the order and paid. They were supposed to call us early the next week to schedule delivery. 2 weeks later we called them. We spoke to nice young salsemen (unfortunately not the one we dealt w/) and he said..."Oh, Judy didnt call you?" Apparently she had known for the last week that the fridge that was part of our package wasnt being made anymore, and instead of calling us to let us know and working out a solution just left us hanging. So fast forard to the end of June, our appliances are now scheduled to be delivered. Now we paid for delivery and disposal, but on top of that the delivery guys tell us that we need to pay them to disconnect the dishwasher. Had I known ahead of time, I would have done it myself.... it takes all of 10 minutes. The kicker is when I call Judy to ask why she never told me about this or the fact that it would cost more money, she had the nerve to say "You cant expect me to go through every little detail w/ everyone" ahh.. yes anytime you are charging someone for something, it is probably a good idea to let them know ahead of time... but i let it slike, $15.00, no bid deal. Right as the delivery guys are ready to leave, what do I see on the front door of my brand new, out of the box stainless steel fridge? That's right, a golf ball size dent. Cue up my 2nd call to Judy of the day. I tell her what's going on, her response, not "im sorry", or "we'll fix that immediately" but " Are the delivery guys still there? Can I talk to one of them?" Delivery guy:"Yup big dent on the door" Apparantly had i waited to notice the dent until after the delivery guys left, they would have assumed i dented it. Because afterall, i am in the habbit of paying for appliances, chasing the derrelect saleslady around to finally get them delivered 8 weeks later, then as soon as they are installed and this nightmare is about to end, taking out a hammer and smashing the front of the door. The result- hang on to everything, we'll order you a new door, and come out and swap them for you. That was June 17th, it is now September 4. Guess how many times New England appliance has called us? 0. Each time we call, we get the run around. It's either, "Oh, I'll call the manufacturer again to see if its available, i'll call you back tomorrow" or "yeah, we just got a delivery of a bunch of stuff, i will have someone sort through the boxes to see if yours is there, and call you tomorrow" Never a call back, never an Im sorry. We went there thinking we were going to get a good deal on appliances. To tell you the truth they are not that much more inexpensive than Sears or some other outfit, you can even have better luck on Craigslist. What we got was the absolute worst retail experience you could ever imagine. Unprofessional, unresponsive, and apathetic. It's as if they got our money and basically wrote us off. So no, I would not reccommend NE Appliance nor will I ever go there again. All I want is my new fridge door and for Judy to lose her job, and you know what? at this point i'll take either or, i really dont care. read more

I called them every Friday for 2 months for them to receive a part to fix my dishwasher.....The receptionist had every excuse in the book and always said "I'll call you on Monday." Never have I've been so disappointed in a store. My wife and I spent 30 minutes in this store and not once did anyone inquire as to want we wanted. Did I mention that my wife and myself are Black. Maybe that's the reason. We're both able body working adults with good jobs and our money spends like anyone else. My refrigerator broke down and we needed a new one like....NOW!!!!! We were prepared to buy on the spot. Now I understand if the store was crowded and there was other customers but that wasn't the case. The salespersons refused to acknowledge us and I will never beg anyone to take my money. They lost a good sale but I guess their not in the business to make money. Again!! New England Appliance saved the day for me! Got back from vacation on Thursday and literally my fridge sounded like a helicopter in the kitchen!! I called them right away. Even though I didn't buy this fridge from them..all my appliances are from them in my kitchen and have warranties from them and I totally trust them! I just filled my fridge with 200.00 worth of groceries! I was worried I was going to lose them. They sent some out right away! They need to order parts that are going to take a few days.
