This is a 50-year-old heirloom where each piece has a story, and it is an ongoing project. Given there were signs everywhere emphasizing their no-strinkage safety with cotton fabrics, I stupidity trusted it. It returned shrunk, each tiny piece slightly smaller and buckled, therefore not matching the ongoing work at home, and many pieces ripped off. AND the tiny stain still remained. I had a near heart attack. Staff insisted they could "fix it". I returned take 2, stain still there, but quick shoddy repair of ripped pieces and they (kindly) insisted I did not have to pay for their mistake. Then, I spent 2 weeks at home re-calibrating to the shrunk piece, and another week removing ruined torn pieces (some were over a 100 years). Lesson learnt. NEVER take a vintage piece to any dry cleaner! A month on, I was still working on repairs.

A week later that's what I got, a nicely cleaned and folded sweater in a protective bag. It ran about $15 which I agree with another reviewer is a tad high, but everything's going up these days it seems. The pickup and drop-off part of this service is AMAZING, especially for someone with a busy schedule! They scheduled pick up at my house within a week despite having a high demand for wedding dress cleaning at the time, and sent me an update about what they were planning to do once they had their wedding dress expert take a look at the dress. Their turnaround time was much faster than I expected and they even sent pictures right after the cleaning was finished so I could see how well it came out! I had not requested a steaming since I didn't have plans to use the dress again anytime soon, but they did one complimentary for me which made the dress look absolutely stunning and like it was brand new. There was not a single residual stain left and the dress did not smell like anything - it was just perfectly clean. The final cost of the cleaning was exactly what I expected from the quote and I felt it was incredibly reasonable for the amount of cleaning they had to do, the speed and very high quality of service, and the helpful communication throughout the process. I was 100% satisfied with the end result and would absolutely recommend their services to anyone!

I recently moved to Los Angeles and found a new dry cleaners down the street from me that charged me half the cost for the same items which was refreshing. I thought of this place and wanted to leave a review to warn people how bad this was. These people were hostile, defensive, and greedy. They kept on hassling me about my clothes and texting me for approval for new costs. The texting person gave me an estimate and sent me like over 10 photos of my clothes to point out all the stains and hair that was on my clothes and repeatedly told me my clothes were wrinkled and very dirty. This was unnecessary and made me feel attacked and shamed. Like WTF?? I just wanted them to clean my clothes not pick faults with me! Instead, they acted like they were taking me to court! So much unnecessary stress and hassle for dry cleaners! They ended up charging me over $50 more than originally estimated because my clothes were oh so hard to clean and so dirty. Despite going over the original estimate, they still hassled and tried to guilt me for tip at the end saying they gave me a deal. What deal? Your services are super expensive! The tone they texted me was just so very rude it's like they didn't want me as a customer. I never fought them on the expensive costs but they were hostile from the start. I ended up going back to my previous dry cleaners, City Custom Tailor & Dry Cleaners in Belltown. They are not cheap either, but a little less expensive and they are chill. I do not think cheap dry cleaning exists in Seattle but this service sucks.

Here is my story: I moved to West Seattle about nine months ago and have never had a problem with any of my dress shirts. Some were old, some were brand new. But they all got ripped at House of Kleen. The elbows were definitely worn (they're dress shirts, after all) but again I have never, ever had an issue with my shirts until I started going here. As soon as I start going here, my dress shirts start ripping in the elbows. Something is going on at this cleaner and it is not good business. I am so mad this happened. I used to have 10 dress shirts, now I have three and I have to go buy more. All of them ripped at House of Kleen. When I confronted the owner, he flipped out. "I don't ruin shirts. You ruin shirts. Your fault. You don't come back here." Needless to say, I was stunned. He wouldn't even listen to me. He simply refuted my claims and yelled at me. I yelled back, naturally. It was embarrassing. Please don't go here. I am out hundreds of dollars of nice shirts and have nothing to show for it. House of Kleen is a disgraceful company with a bad owner who does not care for his customers. If I could rate this business lower than one star, I would.

I had originally gone to this place because of green dry cleaning and have been going here for the…read morepast couple years. They had done a fine job about a handful of times for cleaning other items (eg, Reformation dress and blouse, wool sweater) that I brought in for cleaning prior so that's why I give them 1 star. This most recent time I brought in 4 items (2 for repair and 2 for cleaning). They have let me down on multiple levels due to ruining 2 items, charging me for cleaning that I didn't ask for nor was informed of, and not having a way for these issues to be resolved in a timely or convenient way. Specific facts follow for these issues next. I have also included photos. First, they pilled all over an entire and brand new Reformation dress that I had only worn once and which was not pilled at all when brought in. The rep explained that pilling can happen in the dry clean process, depends on the brand and fabric composition, that they followed dry clean instructions, that they cannot fix the pilling, and did not have the ability to refund me. I had previously brought a different reformation dress in red of the same fabric composition (see pic), which had been cleaned and only showed very slight to no pilling, which suggests to me user error that warrants a refund (I would think they wouldn't refund me $225 for what I paid for the dress, but at the very least the cleaning fee that resulted in pilling the item entirely leaving it to look much much older and used). Second, I was informed that they had "rejected" to repair a zipper on a small pouch I brought in. The rep informed me that the seamstress may have declined to repair the pouch due to fabric issues. This is fine and possibly reasonable, but, they also returned the pouch damaged. Specifically, beyond the zipper not working, the seems are now detached and unraveling. I'm not sure why the seamstress didn't repair it back to the way it was in its original condition? Third, they repaired velcro on a Patagonia jacket, which I asked for. However, upon pick-up, I was charged $20 for cleaning it. I had not asked for this. They rep informed me that it is their policy "to clean all items for alterations due to COVID" and apologized for not having told me this when I dropped the items off; however, again she was not able to refund me for this mistake. Lastly, the rep told me that I could call back in the mornings to speak to the manager about refunds. I am traveling out of the country and have a work schedule that doesn't really allow for time flexibility for things like this. So, this additional step creates a burden on me as a customer. I hope that in the future that they can train reps to make reasonable decisions about when refunds are warranted and to be able to provide this to the customer without additional burden, inconvenience, and disappointment placed on the customer. Unfortunately, they have lost my trust and I will not be returning to this business. This saddens me because I had previously been very happy with the cleaning I had received up to this point and really do appreciate their using green practices. It's too bad it didn't work out but I don't want to support a business that charges me for things I didn't ask for, ruins my items, and can't give me refunds without my doing additional legwork at hours I'm not free even though they made mistakes.

I recently brought in a new dress shirt to be laundered and received it back with an odd floral pattern on the white collar. Turns out the shirt was manufactured with a floral design to help fight stains, or something odd along those lines, and the cleaning process brought the color out. I brought the shirt back to have the cleaners look at it and they took care of the new stain. One of the gentlemen told me he personally worked for 30 minutes on the stain to bleach it out, and the shirt looks as good as new. The best part? It was free of charge, because, as he said, "you are a customer". Five stars.

I clearly mark each item with red tape on the stain marks, and when they are returned, none are removed! FYI, i had to do it myself at home and with a bit of work, all stains are properly removed. Second, the ironing of the pants have seriously damaged the pants. When i received them, i've noticed a significant amount of shine and white marks along the crease line and around the hem, which is clearly the case that you guys are using a much hotter setting than you should be when iorning!! I thought you guys are professional! Very disappointed overall, despite having good experience with the system you guys are having. Please for the love of god put more work on the actual care of the garment than other superfluous thing.
