First the essential oils placed under my face gave me quite a migraine. I have a herniated disc in my neck which I acknowledge that sometimes that could be an issue but for me this has never been a problem during massages. For some reason she placed several, and I mean several, hot towels on my neck which was immediately pretty painful as this was heavy to be placed with heat on a herniated disc, no matter how healed. Then she quite literally covered me in lotion, like a ridiculous amount where I couldn't even get dressed, barely touched me and ran out of the room, almost before I could even ask her for a towel (I was literally drenched in lotion) and before the session was supposed to be over. So I was left in more pain plus a migraine with a shortened session and covered in lotion, and I did notice that she didn't greet me afterwards to offer me water and make sure I'm doing good like they usually do here. This was all very strange and bizarre, but I assumed maybe this had to do with inexperience and wanted to leave feedback as to why this wasn't the best experience, especially since this is a luxury service that wasn't cheap. The owner called me the next day, and she was genuinely one of the most hostile and unpleasant people I had ever talked to. I am not a confrontational person, and I do think I was being reasonable in leaving feedback. She called me and told me that there is absolutely no way that any of this happened, and that she "welcomes me to not return". I told her that this was unfortunate to hear because I had such positive experiences in the past there, to which she told me I didn't go there enough times to have that much of an opinion. She kept telling me that I am more than welcome to not return, and at this point I wasn't going to but I just wanted her to tell me directly that she was banning me from returning for having a negative experience. She was avoiding saying explicitly that I could not return, but she kept insisting I was welcome to go elsewhere. I told her I would probably leave a review of the situation, to which she said "well that's not very nice of you". I told her it's not very nice to ban me for expressing concerns with my session. She hung up the phone abruptly, and the next day another staff member called and offered to reschedule me with someone else. I politely declined. I also want to mention that the ramp to get in the door is extremely inaccessible, I am a wheelchair user and it's borderline hazardous the way it is oriented. If I am to open the door, I have to be on the ramp which is difficult, or the door will push me down the stairs. If you use a mobility aid or have chronic pain I would not recommend, not because of the staff but 100% because of the owner.

My goal was to get the knots out from my shoulders, back, and calves. After about 10-15 minutes, Megan asked me about the pressure. I said she could go firmer but I didn't notice a difference. I was hoping she'd get the knots out but the massage was relaxing. Shes also very professional. As most know on here I have had really horrible experiences with Groupon but I have to tell you this was the best Groupon find I have ever had, it's almost enough to make me buy another Groupon. He is just super sweet and has a way about him that makes you uber comfortable despite the fact he looks like a Lions linebacker. I got there way too early and he took it in stride, giving me the necessary form and asking if I wanted to start ahead of time. Oh heck yeah. I sent my husband off with a backwards wave. Folks I'm almost hesitant to tell you about Robert in depth. I have a history of sharing on Yelp and losing quality massage therapists. I'm being realllly nice here, I will probably regret it. Robert is awesome. Amazing. I feel incredible. Never has my husband ever commented on how relaxed my muscles are after a massage. I honestly don't think anyone has ever made them this relaxed. Seriously. His massage was a total eye opener and kind of blew my mind. Robert has a real issue with knots. Apparently I'm full of them, even ones I did not know I had. The man was on a mission to eradicate them. At first I was like whoa. I wasn't sold. This was a massage like I have never had. He was thorough. He was convincing. Best part? When I started to feel the results I was one happy camper. This is no fingertip half assed *spa* massage. This was complete body therapy. My limbs were stretched and turned. My back and neck were explored and then manipulated into giving up the extreme tension they carry. I think so often in massage if you are overweight they just give up on you a bit. Robert found all the trouble spots, contorting me to make sure he got the right access to eradicate the baddies. My short, fat neck? Not an issue. I was shocked to understand what exactly can be done to that area. Small changes of position and he took care of my most problematic sufferings. Most therapists either don't know or don't care how best to get the job done apparently. I've had hot stone massage before, here you get hot stones added in as a tool to make the release easier but it is part of a more comprehensive purpose. Robert uses all the tools in his arsenal to get the job done. I love that! Yes you will be sore after the treatment, drink as much water as possible. I can be a wuss about that, I confess. Bottom line though? You will realize how much real pain you were in before the massage and how quickly it returned to you after some of your other *massages*. This is sweet pain, healing pain, necessary. Worth it. This is what it takes to have real results that last. This is what happens when someone actually tries to heal you, not throw a bandaid on your problems but who truly works to fix the real issue. After my massage I got a choice of cold or room temp water and helpful advice. Robert showed me stretches, gave me good ideas about how to prevent some of the worst knots and even gave me a chance to give feedback to him as well. So professional but really I just felt truly cared about. He really listened to my words and my body and wanted nothing more than to help me heal, not just relax or indulge but to be healthier. Not in a judgy you need to lose weight/work out/stop being a type A control freak but in a genuine hey you can help yourself out just the way you are now way. I could have hugged the man. I am broke as heck at the moment and I am still planning my next visit, it is worth the money. Really it's a great bargain when you compare. I have to go. After a lovely wash and sit with the conditioner, where I enjoyed the peace of that lovely room, she came back and gave me the perfect haircut. She didn't try to do anything extra; she didn't try to offer me a bunch of product; she listened to my request, and made it happen. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm looking forward to pre-vacation manicures and pedicures with my partner in a couple of weeks. Also, I liked their online scheduling system. When I asked the masseuse to stop my massage, I was offered ear plugs and asked if I knew how to meditate to drown out the noise. It was the first massage in 30 plus years that I had ever been offered ear plugs. The total disregard for my experience was beyond disappointing. I did speak with the manager the following Monday and was offered a rebate of 40%. I was also told that the rooms are not soundproof. I never expected them to be. I cannot in good conscience recommend this spa and will not return.

The woman who did my massage spoke softly asking me what areas I'd like her to focus on and what would be included in my massage. She gave me clear direction and privacy. She was firm, and worked out a knot in my shoulder and did a full body massage. There was calming music playing softly. At the end, they gave me a cup of tea to drink while I changed. I was not rushed in the beginning or the end. I would absolutely love to come here again one day for another massage. His appointment was scheduled…read morefor 10:00 a.m., and he was back in his vehicle and leaving by 11:00 a.m. At the time, there was a special advertised for new customers: $79.95 for a 60-minute massage. However, when you factor in the approximately 10 minutes at the beginning for undressing and preparation, and another 15 minutes at the end for getting dressed, the actual hands-on massage time appears to have been closer to 35 minutes, not 60. Additionally, when my husband was asked which areas needed the most attention, he specifically requested focus on his neck and shoulders. Unfortunately, he felt that the therapist spent the majority of the session working on other areas instead of addressing the areas he identified as problematic. Advertising a special for a 60-minute massage when the actual massage time is significantly shorter feels misleading and makes the promotion much less of a value than it appears. Based on this experience, my husband has no interest in returning, as he was very disappointed with the service and felt it did not meet his expectations.
