Liel is an artist and represents everything you would want in a hair stylist. Okay, I will admit that I'm afraid one day she will become so famous that she won't have time for my hair. However, I also know that I'll be doing this world a big disfavor if I don't put this review out there, so here it goes... I am ultra picky when it comes to a hair stylist. And I mean picky as in throughout med school in Chicago and residency in LA, I always ended up back in Huntington Beach, Orange County to see my hair stylist! My world was turned upside down last year when my stylist in OC told me she was moving to another State. Nervously I started searching the LA area. Thankfully, I came across Balayage by Liel and set up an appointment. Liel took her time with my hair, asked all the right questions, while still maintaining the confidence that you look for in a stylist. She is extremely detail oriented and pretty much paints your hair picture perfect. My balayage has NEVER looked better, while my hair still looks healthy and shiny. In fact, when I look at my pictures from last year, I wish I started seeing her sooner! Liel is the absolute GAME CHANGER and the Holy Grail that every girl looks for in a hair stylist. At the same time, she's so humble and personable that you'll totally feel comfortable and at home. If you're looking for the perfect balayage, Liel is your girl. I found Liel on yelp after searching for blonde balayage near me. My hair was literally a hot mess and I needed help finding a better solution to my bad roots! I ended up getting two "root smudges" and bangs trimmed by Liel and I really liked the color - hooray for smudges! The price seemed fair and even though she was a little slow to respond/schedule/confirm the first time, the second time she was very accommodating to my very last minute request, and to me, that more than made up for the first slow time around. However....when I tried to schedule a third appointment on July 23rd, it turned into days and weeks of confusing texts (the most recent I received today) that quite frankly got a little personal and unpleasant I think Balayage by Liel would be so much better with a more efficient scheduling system, and by keeping the communication with me, the client, more professional and respectful. Based on my poor customer experience, and my current hair withstanding, I would not recommend Balayage by Liel to my friends or family. With damaged hair and growing roots, time is of the essence, and when it comes to customer service, I don't think it's right to speak to a customer (who only wants to book your good services!) in an ill-tempered way. But I have to give credit where it's do! I liked the color and maybe if it wasn't a 110 degree summer the smudge would've lasted longer and I wouldn't have bleach blonde next to dark roots (for the record I am naturally blonde but there is such a stark line between the dye and natural color ). I liked that Liel introduced me to "root smudges" which I think are a brilliant solution to rooted blondes everywhere! And the salon (albeit empty with no refreshments offered) was clean and pretty with lots of light I wish Liel nothing but the best and I hope this review will be helpful! read more

This review is long overdue (got a balayage back in February) but I wanted to make sure I wrote this as Liel was amazing! I hadn't dyed my hair in a while because I never got the color I wanted with previous stylists. I showed photos of what I wanted and Liel let me know what color would be possible as my hair is naturally dark brown.
