I booked Linet for a house call haircut for which she charged me $195. After looking around LA, I found that her price was a little high but the reviews sold me - so I had high expectations. The service I received was absolutely NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I had explained to her that I had to catch a flight right after my appointment so I wanted to make sure she was on time and had enough time without making me late. She agreed to come at 6:30am. However she showed up almost half an hour late- which set me back. She also made ME sweep up and clean up all the hair on the floor- which is something NOBODY at a salon would make me do- & also took time I did not have. & not to mention her attitude was horrible since the moment she arrived. I honestly wanted to cancel the whole thing because I was afraid she wouldn't do a good job with the attitude she had. One week after my haircut & my layers are wayyy too short, they don't blend with other layers, and I hate the way my hair looks- which is why I'm writing this review. I very much enjoyed my experience with Balayage by Linet. I texted to make an appointment and received a prompt response and was able to schedule my appointment right away! I got a partial balayage and trim from Chelsi and I am thrilled! Chelsi was able to correct my (very) outgrown blonde balayage to the exact light brown balayage I wanted! Not to mention she is super sweet and fun to talk to. I contacted Linet for my first post-Covid lockdown hair appointment. My dark brown hair had previously gone through one round of bleaching on a journey towards blonde prior to the lockdowns and now the roots were grown out and the color was just a mess. Senior stylist Chelsi came to the rescue and did a lovely balyage transformation. The color, cut and style was on point! Now let me get to the best part. I wear a hijab, so finding a hairstylist where I can be accommodated is difficult at best and usually almost impossible. Linet made arrangements for my appointment to be done in a private room. There were times when a male staff member had to enter the room and the stylist and her assistant made sure that I had an opportunity to cover my hair before they entered. They were all incredibly respectful of my needs and kind and I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful experience! I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

I wanted to get rid of my yellow blonde so I let my gray hair grow in during the COVID quarantine months. Since my hair had grown so long and half of it was my natural gray, I wanted to be sure that my new colorist would know how to keep my gray, blend in some low lights and get rid of the old yellow. I got partial highlights done by Chelsi who was amazing! I've been platinum blonde for years and wanted to go darker and am extremely happy with the results. UPDATE: I have every text saved so there's really no dispute. I was never shown a negative test result. Ever. Either way she should have been wearing a mask since it was literally within 5 days of her having Covid. But nice try. Second yes technically I had a service but NEVER did she tell me that was being charged. It took me a minute to pay bc I had to link my card to venmo! You asked for the deposit in that way NEVER said that's the only way you take payment. Anyone that wants to see proof of all this is welcome to message me. Never reached out after I was disappointed but you sure took the time when it was a negative review! Where do I even begin with this disaster of an experience.. at the beginning I suppose. After researching balayage stylists and seeing Linets IG I decided to reach out. The photos were great and I was ready for a glow up after months of saving. When I made the appointment through Shawn, the coordinator apparently, I told him my budget. I was very clear that I had saved a certain amount to have my hair done. I agreed to the price of $550 for full balayage and a cut with a junior stylist. Day of appointment was on a Friday. They contacted me that day to cancel because the stylist had tested positive for Covid. They sent me a screenshot of her positive test result. We rescheduled for that Wednesday. They told me I would have a senior stylist but they would still honor the price. ( it's more with a senior stylist) ok I thought that was great! I'd get a more experienced stylist for the same price. Rad. Wednesday comes and I show up and the stylist is there, we talk I show her photos of what I want and she asks me if I'll want to cover my greys.. umm.. yes? For the price I'm paying and considering it's a "full balayage " I assumed I'm not walking out with greys? Anyways we get started. About 30 minutes in after some questions and lots of her hovering over me maskless, guess what I discovered? This is the stylist that had tested positive for COVID! Imagine my shock when this girl, Bella, was not wearing a mask when I walked in or at any time after, nor was I told that she was going to be working on me or shown proof of a negative test! I was totally shocked! I assumed this was a senior stylist as I had been led to believe. Not the junior one that for all I know probably still had Covid! But it gets worse, my hair came out horrible. Not even close to what I wanted. She fully died my hair an ashy blonde. No dark on top balayage to blonde like I wanted. She could tell I was devastated as she was blow drying it. To add insult to injury then she tells me they only take venmo as payment. Huh? I had designated my credit card for this! They claim that when they asked me to send my $100 deposit through venmo that that was them saying that's the only form of payment they receive? How was I supposed to assume that? I've been to the Giuseppe Franco salon in the past and paid with my card! But the beauty of their hustle is that then you can't dispute the charge. I was livid. But the final coup de grâce came when this girl told me I owed an additional $150 for the coverage of the greys!! WHAT?! I never agreed to any additional charges nor did she at any time inform me there would be one. My hair does not grow in grey! I have some yes, but not to justify an extra $150 charge. Which , even my friends who are color stylists agree, doesn't make sense. I was already paying $435 for a full balayage and that would in itself cover the greys. You can see all the blonde she put in my hair all over as proof. I honestly felt totally hustled. She should have said hey so this will be added charge or whatever and I could have decided then that I couldn't swing it. I'm angry with myself for paying it at all. I've just never been that person to not pay for a service. But then again I've never felt so dissatisfied with a hair salon visit as I was that day so it was a new experience. We were alone in salon it was late, I was tired and fighting back tears so I just wanted to leave. I reached out to Shawn to express my disappointment in how I was being asked to pay and with how my hair looked and that I didn't think it was cool that she snuck in an additional charge. The response? Oh well.. pay us. As you can see in the photos I attached of our convo. He could have cared less how disappointed I was and how hustled I felt. All they cared about was the money. I never heard from Linet or anyone. Oh and to top it all off I got sick after. I'm sure that girl was still contagious and the fact that she didn't care enough to even wear a mask when she literally had just had Covid ( or still did) days prior is wild to me. So anyways to surmise I would not recommend Bella or Linet by extension for their total unprofessional and dangerous behavior. Walking out of a salon after shelling out close to $700 and leaving in tears with a hat on my head is not an experience I wish on anyone. Buyer beware! read more

Even though she had her helpers, I felt Linet's full attention on my color. She did partial balayage, a toner, root smudge, olaplex treatment, and beautiful beach waves (those by Chelsea) to achieve my desired look, all in under 3 hours! My hair has a tendency to get brassy so I'll likely go back for a toner between color treatments. It is not cheap, but it's definitely reasonable for LA and you get the results you're paying for.
