I took a haircut appointment during 4th July weekend at salon andalucia. My master stylist was Erikaespe - Gonzales. She asked me about my preferences. Salon offered us water to keep us hydrated. I showed her a photo of my desired haircut and she was totally up for this challenge. She gave me a hair- wash and started with round 1 of my haircut. After that, she put me under the salon dryer. After that she meticulously started working on layers at the back. Her attention to detail is immaculate. I was happily blown away from the haircut I received. Where have they been all my life?! I was referred to this salon, to Kelly in particular, and my only regret is that I didn't come to her sooner. The salon itself is a very comfortable and friendly environment. All of the stylists are pros. Kelly is lovely and does an amazing job. I have so much fun chatting and my hair always looks great! My husband and daughter have even become regulars too. My husband usually resents paying more than $8 for a haircut but he happily goes to Kelly for a real cut. And it grows out very nicely. First time visit and sat with Griselda. Pros: Very sweet, lovely woman who did an amazing job with color. Gave a great head massage with the shampoo. Easy to talk to and accommodating. Owner nice as well. Person that answered the phone was friendly and efficient. Cons: I was nervous when I sat down and saw a sign that said now that she had interned 3 years her prices would go up. In fairness to her, I asked her not to add layers because I've had bad cuts from new stylists before that took a year to grow out, so there isn't a whole lot she could do. However, she cut a LOT more of my hair than I expected her to. . We've all been there, right? I showed her a picture of a haircut I had in the past as a guide, and this looks nothing like it. My bangs are too short, curled under like a little kid's instead of the straight longer style I wanted. My hair, which I wanted a little past my shoulders, barely touches my shoulders. I wound up paying about $65 for a cut I could have gotten at Supercuts and $100 for a decent root touch up. She cut my son's hair too, and it was...just okay. $45. I admit I've been spoiled by really great stylists that I have stayed with for years, until they moved. This salon at least responded to my message and was kind and accommodating. Still, I wish I'd trusted my instincts and left when I saw she lacked experience. I really enjoyed talking to her, I just think she needs to listen more to her clients about what they want and to go more slowly and check in with the client about the length when cutting off so much. I Booked an appointment to fix my impulse Covid lockdown haircut and wanted to see if a virtual consultation was possible before going in, to save time during the actual in person meeting. Due to covid I didn't think this was an unreasonable request, since people are trying to limit face to face interaction as much as possible to stop the spread of Covid. I was then called back by the owner saying that their salon was not a good fit for me, aka I got dumped by a hair stylist/salon before even being seen. After reading my review, Sylvia called and thanked me for my review but realized I wasn't 100% satisfied with the amount of layers I wanted. She offered for me to come in, free of charge to fix it exactly the way I wanted. She wanted me to be happy. I was overwhelmed with gratitude, but respectfully declined because it wasn't that big of a deal. She also offered to layer it more if I decided to come in for a bang trim first. Ava cut my curly hair and I love it! Since then my hair became manageable and easy to deal with. Before it used to have no shape and was very tangly and dry. She did a good job on the shape of my hair as well. Will definitely come back. I also purchased the AVEDA products she used for my hair and I love them! I'm accustomed to paying a cool $4.50 for a haircut to the trainees at Mr. Leon's School of Hair Design back in the days before college. Or else a few bucks at Super Hack-O-Cuts. Occasionally they'd goof and I'd look (even more) like a complete idiot...but hey, hair grows back. On a trip to SoCal, my friend took me here because she loved it so much that, well, she'll take a guy who hates paying for haircuts to a salon! Here's what I noticed: 1. They had hot apple cider for me as soon as I stepped in the door (it was around the holidays, so don't get too greedy here) 2. While I sipped my cider, I ate some tasty chocolate on the house as well. 3. I learned more about Marilyn Monroe from a Life magazine than I ever knew before. Considering I could barely spell her name before that, it's not saying much...but it beats reading Seventeen Magazine. Anyway. I'm a guy with little sense of how a salon should be, feel or look...but Andalucia felt clean and cheery. The girl at the front counter was absolutely friendly and helpful and the wait was minimal. The haircut? Absolutely phenomenal. Ava is a wizard. Not only was she very nice, she didn't talk my ear off or expect me to talk the entire time. Not that I didn't...but she was fine with a little silence here and there. I never quite realized how a great haircut compares to a buzz or cheap cut. This was the first time in my life I actually got compliments on a haircut, not to mention I didn't have to worry about my mom saying, "Ooooh, I just don't like it." Honesty cuts deep sometimes. And sometimes, not hearing "Oooops" in the middle of a cut is worth spending more than $5 on a haircut. Salon Andalucia is great. Check it out. read more

I got a cut with Sylvia. And then I return for a color. I love working with her because she is so nice and she listens to what I want and she makes my hair looks super pretty. I am also stunned by how great the service was! I couldn't finish my appointment because I had to run back for my baby. My first trip to the salon was in May on a recommendation from a friend to see Kelly. I went in for a haircut and to get highlights as I had destroyed my own color with boxed dye. :( The highlights were beatiful. Great color and blended beautifully. It's now September 1st and they worked right into my summer beach hair so well that I decided not to get them redone yet. The haircut was also great. She did exactly as I asked and also gave me some excellent tips on summer haircare. Today I got my 2nd haircut from Kelly and it was just as good as the first. She started out with a scalp and hand massage, something I have not gotten at the last 3 salons I have been to, and then did a great job on the cut. She really duplicated what I wanted and I feel like I will be able to handle doing it myself easily. I LOVE Aveda products, so when I moved to the area I consulted the Aveda website for a salon in the area...that's when I found Salon Andalucia. It's about a 20-30 minute drive from my house, but totally worth the trip. My first appointment was wonderful! I have lived in a lot of different cities in the U.S. and I have to admit that Stacy is one of my very favorite stylist! She is talented, creative, fashionable, and fun! I love how friendly all the other stylists are too! Everyone makes you feel like a valued guest when you visit. I like to change the color of my hair a lot and try new edgy highlights, lowlights, and fun colors. I share my ideas with Stacy and she makes them look better than I could could have even imagined. If you want to try a new cut or color and aren't sure what to do, I'm confident that Stacy would find a style that you will love!! My daughter and I have been going to Bethany at Salon Andalucia for years. I have curly hair and Bethany has really gotten to know it, and has found a cut that I absolutely love. My style is so easy I can let it air dry. She has also helped me choose hair products to maximize my results, too. The salon exclusively carries Aveda products, which I am totally hooked on! Bethany also knows her color. I had been coloring my hair at home but the result was uneven color and dryness. I turned to Bethany and she helped me get my hair back to a great color and condition. I really trust her with my hair! My daughter has straight hair and a highlight done as well and Bethany is an expert at that, too. My daughter's hair looks gorgeous... she always receives a lot of compliments on her hair. Bethany is very pleasant and customer oriented. She does not wear you out with conversation, she always offers you a drink (I love the Aveda tea she serves), and she gives great hand massages after she washes my hair. I thoroughly enjoy my experience with Bethany! Salon Andalucia is small and quaint and has a soothing decor. Another thing I love about the salon too, is that there NO manicurist. Even when I look all scraggily and un-human like, I will always wait for my Angie. I always get tons of compliments on my haircut after. Four weeks ago, I dropped in to scope out the salon. I explained my needs and set an appointment with Angie. Since I was so warmly received, and needed services, I kept the appointment. Angie was amazing! She listened to my hair history, provided me with a great consultation, product recommendations & outstanding service. Ive been going to Bethany at Andalucia long before it was named that! I trust her with everything from cutting to coloring to styling. Her specialty is color, and the ones she uses are GORGEOUS! I constantly get compliments on the different colors in my hair, as they change depending on the light :) You may be in the chair longer that you expect, but trust me, every second is worth it. She's extremely detailed, and wont let you leave until your 100% satisfied with your look. The location is in a small plaza with cramped but available parking. Look for blue little canopies and don't get it confused with buildings on the same street that have blue canopies. I suggest zooming into google maps if it's your first time coming and you hate getting lost. I went to this place by suggestion of a coworker--she always has good hair. I'm Asian and I have LOTS of hair. I was really impressed with the exactness and professionalism of this place. They offer drinks while you wait, and use Aveda products, which are so much better for your hair. Not knowing what I want, I brought in a bunch of pictures and was very impressed when my stylist Angie went ahead and cut it exactly like one of the pictures. My bangs weren't that impressive, but I did hack at them myself a month before, so they were probably ruined by my unkskilled hands, but of course, they will grow. Angie spent 1.5 hrs on my hair, and then noticed some more pieces to perfect after she did my friend's hair...so it was 2 hrs in total. (My hair doesn't like to behave.) After my hair was cut, I was asked if I liked it and told I could come back. I actually didn't like my hair after it was cut, but I admit it did look exactly like the picture. Now that my hair has grown out a bit, I received many compliments. I went back a week later or two and got my hair highlighted red to bring out the layers. For my head with partial red highlights it was $100 before tip. Angie was kind enough to bring out some vibrant red dye she had a week before and put those highlights through my hair, in hidden places where it would not be so ostentatious. The method was very neat and precise. The foil triangular layers made me feel as if I was getting my hair decorated instead. The colors were placed in the right place, however being a black haired girl with red highlights, it was not long after this that the colors turned all brown. :( I really appreciated the care and the demeanour of the staff and I will come here again if I want to have a safe precise choice. A lot of of the staff are very experienced; Angie had 20+ years of experience. However, I feel if I wasn't coloring my hair, there are other places that charge less for a very nice hair cut. read more

A couple of months ago I started going to Salon Andalucia. Gricelda was the stylist who cut my hair and I was very happy with the results. The next time I went I had Gricelda do my highlights. I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure if the color was going to come out like I wanted. OMG The color came out soooooo completely natural and beautiful I was completely and pleasantly surprised. She really went to more trouble than anyone has ever gone to with the products that she used to make sure my hair come out perfect . The places I've been to before the stylist would do the highlights, wash my hair and cut it. Griselda did WAY better than that!!! Not only did she wash it but she made sure that the color came out perfectly by applying some kind of toner that no one ever used before aaaand she left the conditioner on for five minutes before rinsing. No one has ever done that before. These steps made ALL the difference in the world. Besides that she's so lovely to do business with. Bethany is amazing! Her talents with color are fantastic, you will not be disappointed. I have had long hair as long as I can remember and was ready for a change. I gave Bethany carte blanche and told her to do her thing! She did some amazing, fine (not chunky) highlights to enhance my blond hair and then she went to work on the cut. It came out looking really good with layers and pieces to frame my face. My friends and family all agree it looks great! If you want wonderful service, experience, great color and a new style go see Bethany! They are an Aveda salon and carry all their products which is great. She can make some suggestions on what products will work best for your hair type and maximize whatever feature you want- curly, straight, shiny, etc.... Their products are wonderful. I like my hair to look natural Not beige yellow and I hate big stripes of highlights Ava corrected my hair which after trying to get it right from another salon would not be easy.
